I've just installed CheckROM V6 and a N.E.A.K kernel. on 2 hrs 30 mins screen time with 60% battery left.
Was wondering if the battery could get even better than this after a few days? Is it true that the rom has to 'settle' in and become stable?

Yeah, after a few battery cycles battery gets better.

i have the elegant white rom,its awesome low ram consumption speed etc.
BUT first to change stock rom(original from manifacturer)i could play 2 hours and 1/2 sometimes 3 without trouble with battery at 30/35% left now i play 5 mins and my battery goes from 93% to 87% in 5 min
so 6%x12=72%battery lost in 1 hours its bad really bad! i also installed the battery fix but notthing!in idle without playing i lost 2/3% per hours so this is good.
someone have my same trouble? it is normal?if so i should install back stock rom?
if i get stock rom again the battery should be fine?
the elegant rom is on stock 2.3.7 i had 2.3.3 when i bought this phone
sorry for bad english i have not much time
thx everyone
(already done calibration)
to full charge it takes 1 hours max is it normal?

Roms based on CM7.2 do drain battery massively compared to stock so going back to stock would help.
Battery callibration does not help - see Here
Same problem here... Living with it cuz stock has just become old and lazy
But if you really want battery switch to stock its way better than cm

There isn't a noticeable difference in both versions in terms of battery life. However, 5.7 has better performance and is noticeable.
You can try underclocking to something like 730 MHZ and save a decent amount of battery life without losing performance. Check this OC kernel out:
OC zImage
Also, use Cyanogenmod, ADW launcher without customizations is faster than the stock touch-wiz UI launcher.

For all those who r shouting that battery calibration doesnt improve battery.. Did the XDA said it improves battery life?? Do u ppl know wats the meaning of calibration?? Calibrating means adjusting something to the accurate value.. Not improving the value!! Even we never said it ll improve battery life.. Battery calibration just calibrates the reading to more accuarte one. So let the ppl calibrate it. Else leave. It ll automatically gets adjusted after 1 or 2 week.. U can see urself the change..

Yes, many members on XDA said that callibration improves battery life. The battery indicator on your status bar does not use batterystatus.bin. It does not automatically adjust after 1 week or 2. It re-calibrates every time you charge!
Read the article posted by XDA for more:
google-engineer-debunks-myth-wiping-battery-stats-does-not-improve-battery-life/
well i dont know about you all
but on my phone battery percantage isnt that accurate
cause when i unplug phone from charger and just open game or do something battery percantage goes to like 90%
but when my battery percantage is low like 18% it holds 30mins on 18%
I've tested many roms here and stock rod do tend to have better battery life, but... When i tested the RAZRv3 by TeamCooper, it had extremly good battery life.
When i got my Ace it had froyo, that lasted about 2.5-3 days. I upgraded to gingerbread official, battery lasted about 1.5-2 days on. Then i tried several custom stock roms and they all lasted about 1-2 days.
After that i started testing CM7 (both 7.1 and 7.2) roms and most of them lasted 12-18 hours (i used the wifi disables 3g function and some other tweaks to last the battery longer otherwise those roms would not have been usable)
Then i got to the RAZRv3 i used it for 2 weeks and the battery was amazing, it lasted easily for 3 days with no other tweaks than "wifi disables 3g" and also the performance was good. No lag!
Then i tested the CM7.2byFAT and the battery was awful but i really liked the rom so i keep 3g disabled when i dont use internet (all background apps use 2g internet) and now the battery last for 2 days.
As i've tested.... 3g takes really alot of battery in CM7 roms but in RAZRv3 (cm7.1 based) it worked like a charm.
So.. Everyone who wants really good battery life should test RAZRv3 that can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1478807
On the topic of battery life, whats your best screen on time.
I think its pointless counting how long the battery lasts over screen on time.
Anyway i previously ran 4hrs 50mins on stock battery on GB Wiui 2.3.6 .
But today on Darky ICS rom i got 5hrs 15mins. Im impressed
Note results with stock sammy battery.
The maximum I've ever got is 6 hours 50 mins (about that).
Kernel: N.E.A.K 1.3.3.x
ROM: Stock 2.3.5
And the stock battery, obviously. Try it

I got a battery app installed which shows % in the top bar. It stays at 100% for a while but when it starts draining with the screen on I lose about 1% every 1-2 minutes, I think its somewhere in between, if I am taxing the cpu it more frequeent than every minute, this would give me about 2-3 hours usage which seems extremely low.
Brightness is min.
wifi/3g off.
auto sync off.
accuweather is installed (mentioned as it has a service running).
I get the drain simpley from doing things like scrolloing app drawer and checking sms.
With screen off in sleep mode battery drain is ok less than 5% in 12 hours. I have this issue confirmed on 2 different batteries.
If this is normal fine, I just want to compare to others on this.
I used to get around 1 day for heavy use ( like wifi, games, etc.) and 1.5 to 2 days for moderate use Which ROM are you using ??
Cm7 based roms use more battery than stock, cuz also their performance is a lot better.
Use uot Kitchen to get the % battery instead of an app.
Also the launcher u use affects battery. ie Go launcher drains plenty of battery.
If you can't squeeze a day's worth of battery from ur phone ur probably using it too much (how much does a laptop last on battery, seriously!)

you mean a day of constant use screen on or would there be periods of it sleeping?
My phone lasts more than a day mostly 3-5 days but thats mainly because its idle most of the time. However I plan to transfer some tasks to it and it seems I will need to keep the charger in during the day.
Compared to stock CM I think isnt too bad, the drain was also bad on stock with the screen on and during calls but the only reason I specified CM is that I didnt have the % meter on my stock rom which means I dont have the same comparison.
My current rom is vo-1's 30 may build. I had bugs on official nightly that vo-1's resolved (including force reboot when using market) so is the reason I am using it.
Incidently my laptop drains its battery slower than my android.
Why I read that so many use thier phones like 2 days, and I can't even get a 12 hours fair use.
I use 2G (3g drains my battery really quick), some whatsapp, some FB and some calls. Music it's only in the morning on my way to work.
I've buy a new battery from ebay, but, it's the same. Using CM 7.1 rom "The End 4.0"
yeah my hunch seems right that it wasnt overall much diff to stock (that also drained superfast when screen on). IN fact during sleep it seems improved over stock.
I am over 4 days at the moment with 35% charge left. mostly sleep. It lost 3% during the time it took me to fetch the below stats. Note that calls like my earlier hunch as well seem to drain battery far more than display.
4 days 8 hours 38% left
display on 40mins used 4%
voice calls on 1hr 5mins used 33%
mobile standby 41% 4hrs 8 mins
phone idle 4days 7hrs 23%

Surely, you're not using WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, handling e-mails or any of the like. If you're just using the SGA like a normal phone, OF COURSE it can give you that kind of performance. If I'm wrong, please correct me.

He barely touched his phone Anyone can get 5-6 days like that! And being on Stock, it's extremely probable.
Well mate you can't expect battery on a cm rom. Performance and good battery isn't an option on cm. Performance is great on cm but battery, nah!

yeah sadly it seems noone has a comparison that I need.
Which is time needed for 1% usage whilst screen is on.
This isnt on stock tho the phone is on CM7.2 vo-1 build.
From what I see the battery life is around the same as stock.
Now I am over 5 days with 17% left. Just did a phone call and it stayed at 17%. When below 20% on stock the phone was unuseable.

Is anybody getting better than 5 hours battery on a JB ROM?
I used to get no less than 9 hours, sometimes as many as 18 hours on ICS (Joker's CM9 and Th3Bill's Paranoid Android).
I like JB, but I'm going on a trip up north next week, and I'll probably be hours without a charger. Can't have my phone die on me in a strange area.
I'm almost certain I have to go back to ICS to accomplish this, but if not, let me know.
And can't whatever preserves battery in ICS be ported to JB? I can't believe Google Now and Project Butter make it use twice as much battery. Doesn't really seem worth it. What do you guys think? 5 hours tops... vs. 18 hours tops... 3 hours minimum.... vs. 9 hours minimum.

battery life is decent on JB. regular off and on use i get around 24 hours average. constant use i get like 5-6.
turn off the data if you want it to last longer. or use airplane mode. better yet. go with CM7. i got up to 4 days of use with the data off. :cyclops:
ICS has better battery life all around. But as far as JB goes, CNA has the best battery life by a wide margin. Its about as good as ICS but comes up slightly shorter in most cases. I easily get 24 hours of uptime with moderate usage. About 12 with heavy usage.
Define moderate usage. I got maybe 12 hours when I do nothing with it

There are a few things that come into play. For one, after calibrating the battery it still takes two or three charge cycles to start to notice a normalized amount of battery drain. Also, profiles profiles profiles! Powersave govnah with three or four profiles for in call, screen off, etc. Increases battery life by about 75% in most cases.
I'm looking for a Note 3 ROM with good battery life. I feel like I'm not getting what I should out of rooted stock Lollipop (maybe 2-3 hours screen on time and 12-14 hours of usage).
I know it's hard to quantify battery life, but has anybody found a ROM that they think has excellent battery life? Thanks!

I get about 18-24 hours with 3-5 hours of screen time (pretty hard use too 1 hour of video, 30 min or so of gaming, random browsing/messaging, and music playing/streaming). I'm on Sac's Note 4 port (4.4.4) and Lean Kernel. I haven't bothered going up to LP yet, I know Xposed works but has some kinks, no Xposed is a deal breaker for me. Just my experience anyway, hope that helps.
That does help! Thanks!
I should include that I don't leave my phone on the charger, so 6 hours or so is sleep. But it deep sleeps pretty quickly using Lean, almost no battery drop at all over night
