Hi guys,
Here the new NSS version (0.50) that allows sim unlock if your Lumia is rooted (710,800). How to unlock:
1. Make sure all drivers are installed, phone is visible by NSS in Normal, OSBL and NAND mode
2. Make sure you have Qcom loader
3. Plug the phone via USB cable
4. Start NSS, go to Simlocks, WP7, press Unlock
5. Follow on screen instructions
Unlock works for PIN and PUK blocked phones.
Download
Regards, Chris
This is to make my Lumia a SIM free to use any other carrier or just when we need to tap PIN or PUK to unlock sim card?
---------- Post added at 10:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:59 PM ----------
What mean #6?
6. Press unlock again to restore the phone to original
I did unlock, I taped PIN so I need to connect again and change mode do OSBL and press UNLOCK second time?
Hi,
Yes it is to unlock the sim restriction, so the phone can be used on any carrier. Just the guys at MS are on some strange drug, the unlock
code they call - PIN, and the unblock code - PUK.
BR
what do you mean by install all drivers, it wont detect when i just plug into usb (normal mode) but when i am in obsl mode it says "nand disk drive" and it says it cant read device

There are few drivers needed - Zune, Nokia Care Suite, Microsoft USB disk drivers. Make sure Zune and NCS are installed and working.

Second time is not needed. It is just restores the baseband firmware to original.
I've been trying to sim unlock my phone all day, but I keep on getting this:
Looking for phone...Done.
IMEI:
Changing phone mode...Done.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Looking for NAND disk...Not found.
Things to check:
1. Is the phone connected?(Plug to the USB)
2. Is it in the correct mode?(Try to switch to OSBL mode)
3. Have you installed the Qcom loader ?(Use the Install button)
in windows xp its not work?
I used NSS the other day on my DLOAD and to my surprise it magically unlocked just by pressing detect. I was over the moon! Saved me moneyyy!

Hi,
When the phone restarts after the change to OSBL mode command, does it stay with dark screen,
or just enters the long boot process and comes in Normal Mode ?
If the latter, you maybe have baseband/ROM mismatch, where some commands are not recognized -
e.g. the restart. Battery level is also not read correct. The solution is to restore to Nokia loader (only on 710)
and flash some version to make sure ROM and baseband files are matched, then install QCOM and do
the sim unlock procedure.

hey man you are a genius! i have been digging up and trying to find a sim unlock solution since i bought this phone and to no avail. i happened to buy an unlock code for my lumia 710 so i am unable to test your solution to see if it works. i wish you had revealed this method earlier so i would have donated the money to you instead! i am waiting to see if people were successful with your method. for my knowledge though...does it have anything to do with sdb5 partition? thanks again and good luck!
For lumia800?

Hi, in another post you pointed out that your phone was DLOAD and you flashed a generic firmware to your phone which gave you Qualcomm in NSS, could you please give more information on this, which firmware etc. so hopefully it'll work for us too.
/edit - Weird this. If I restart my phone with Vol up then insert USB (till buzz) and then click Detect on NSS it jumps straight to OSBL Mode - WP7 Qualcomm, I can't do anything with it at this stage so maybe (hopefully) someone will have an idea?

That's exactly what I did, and when I pressed 'Detect' my sim unlocked. Try putting a different sim in . But, I want to know what bootloader have due to the confusion of NSS detecting my phone as 'WP7 Qualcomm'.

Just detect on it's own shouldn't unlock it, you'd need to press the unlock button wouldn't you? In settings/About it should say bootloader version, mine is 7.35.0.0. I currently have a vodaphone sim in my phone (locked to Orange) and it doesn't unlock so it's trying to get to the bottom of how yours managed to unlock as qualcomm. Which drivers do you have installed for instance?

Hi,
If you have a phone, check what the Simlock saves as backup. Also after unlock you can try the Restore button and see what is loaded.

I've unlocked a Touch Dual for free, but that was only ONE.
I need one or two more devices to try the "solution".
If anybody feels like trying, just send a private message and I'll send you the instructions.
(The steps are very easy)
EDIT: Sorry, guys, this doesn't work.
I'll need you to go to jocky's thread:

YES, this also unlocks the SIM! (Yaaayyy!!! .. ??)
I use this!!!!

I need to use the search button first then...
B.t.w. thanks to the VERY talented jockyw2001...
But for people that couldn't unlock it with jockyw2001's software should pm me...
For example: KPN Touch Dual's shouldn't be able to get unlocked with that software.
Maybe I can help you.
You can also try this:
- Take out the memory card.
- Put your working sim card in your device and put your device on.
- Check to see that you have a network signal.
- Take your working sim card out of the device and put in a sim card which doesn't work on your device WITH PIN ENABLED
- Turn on your phone --> BUT DON'T ENTER THE PIN CODE.
- Now download http://www.imei-check.co.uk/NIKIv2Unlock.zip and open the software.
- Check if your device is unlocked.
(Normally the NIKIv2Unlock.zip gives you a file which you need to send to imei-check to get your device unlocked for 18 GBP, but this way it should be unlocked for free)
I had a *.unl in the same folder, but if I'm not mistaken, the software doesn't check if it's there.)

Hello All,
I have the Xperia X10 (SO-01B) from NTT Docomo, Japan.
Firmware version 2.1-update1
Baseband version: 2.0.52
Kernel version: 2.6.29 SEMCHost#1
Build #: 2.0.1.B.0.19
I have an unlock code but can't seem to figure out how to enter it into the phone.
When I put in either a T-Mobile or AT&T sim card, the sim card pic at the top of the phone has an "x" in it. I've watched the youtube video about unlocking and I don't get the screen to enter the code.
I've been reading a lot through XDA-developers and other sites and I'm getting conflicting info. Some say I need to flash a new ROM; some say I don't need to.
I'm not real confident flashing a ROM on this phone. Did it with my Treo years ago but I had a better handle on that phone...not so much with this Droid.
One last thing, where I'm staying only has an eMac for my use.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
If I remember correctly, all you had to do was pop in a different sim card (like a T-Mobile or AT&T) and restart your phone. The X10 would then prompt you to enter some sort of unlock code like a sim pin or something like that. With my once AT&T locked X10, any code I would enter wouldn't work. I suggest you fork over the $50 clams or so for a USB Data Cable unlock. It's a program that you pay for and download that gets you one unlock credit that unlocks
your X10. That's what I did and it worked beautifully. Just follow the directions, connect your phone to your comp, the flash tool will do its thing and it should successfully unlock your X10. Hope this helps.

thank you for the help and...
Yep, popped in the different sim card and restarted the phone. But I was never prompted to enter an unlock code. The phone goes right to my welcome screen and shows an "x" over the sim card.
Does the USB data cable unlock require a PC or will it work on a MAC?

Try pressing this combo from the lock screen when you got your SIM that works with the phone in.
Home>Back>Back>Home>Back>Home>Home>Back
That will get you in to the Service Menu. Then go in to the Service Info and press The SIM lock menu.
That gives you a screen that looks like the one i attached.
If your number next to "Network" says 0 you can't unlock it with a code.
Your screen will most likely have [ X ] when it's locked.

Believe you have to unbrand the phone there are other threads that talk about this.
BTW where did you get your code.
For Softbank , NTT Docomo etc.. you must get onto a stock rom ie an unbranded one for the phone to prompt you to enter the code.
If not you must do it using the USB cable method.
The unlock screen has been disabled on softbank and docomo firmwares.
I have the same problem~
Hi everyone, there are 4 days for unlock bootloader for free on Omnius.
There are a lot of ppl who have Bootloader Unlock allowed: NO! and as u know it can only be unlocked by pay method. Well you are lucky if you are seing this post because if you go to omnius page: http://www.omnius-server.com/ and register you can unlock for free your 2011 xperia phone. I already try this method on my brother's xperia mini pro (sk17) and it works without pay anything.
If you have some question be free to ask here, I will help you in your unlocker, its a little diffficult but can be done!.
Good luck!
Edit:
STEPS:
Open omnius, log into your account.
Select your device from list.
Press unlock -> Bootloader
It will show you an image where your testpoint is located.
- Next steps are for mini pro -
Cancel the process. Now turn off your xperia mini pro. Remove your batter
Localizate the testpoint and put there your tool (It can be a paper clip with cable).
Put the clip on your test point and the cable to the ground (omnius will help you with this) then connect your phone at the computer.
Windows will recognize new driver and it will fail with installation. Dont worry, open device manager and right click that device and choice update driver. Select install from my computer. Go to omnius installation (c->program files -> omnius -> drivers) and accept. It will show you a warning telling that those arent the proper drivers but its ok, just press install anyway.
Thats it, it will install you the drivers you need.
Now unplug test point and put your battery on (usb cable must be conected).
Now unplug the usb now.
Put usb again on your xperia and once again it will show you new device founded, follow the same step before, device manager, update, from computer, etc, etc). Thats it, now open omnius and press unlock, bootloader and it will succes.
For anothers devices it will be the same but with different testpoint, steps may be different but omnius will show you the way.
I hope this can help you, because is one day left.

First take out battery from phone then take some wire and connect it,to ground (you can find testpoint locations on omnius site) ,also be sure that drivers are installed (you
can find them in S1tool) now comes tricky part where you need to do in few seconds but first check is testpoint connected,so tricky part is that you need to disconnect testpoint and put battery while is sending loader or error will come up (phone will be ok)
I hope you will understand.

Hi everybody! I'm new at this forum, i come from xperia x8 forum, and I have problems with custom kernels. I have a xperia Neo V, and I just cant connect the phone in fastboot mode. I'm not sure if it is properly bootloader-unlocked, as in the oficial sony's webpage it said that cdma devices cannot be unlocked (check http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/), and I think that is the standard in Europe isn't it? (I'm from spain). Also, I checked the service menu and it also indicates that the bootloader cannot be unlocked.
Anyway i tried through the testpin-s1 tool method and everything seemed to work fine, i got the output with the two lowercase "r", but not the messages showing the model, software version, custom version, filesystem version and serial number, as said in vimjam's guide (check the post regarding unlock BL here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1409269).
When I try to connect it in fastboot mode it just shows the sony ericsson logo and starts to charge, not showing any blue led. I know that this happens in locked devices, but the two lowecase "r" in s1 tool indicate that it is unlocked, so i dont understand... Can someone tell me if my phone is properly unlocked, or if custom kernels can be flashed connecting the device in flash mode (as it does work for me)? Thanks in advance
Eventhough your bootloader is now unlocked, your fastboot is still locked, you have sim-locked phone and you need to pay to unlock it.

You can still root it no problem, just not unlock bootloader.
However, you should still be able to unlock it via a paid for service. (Someone correct me if I am wrong)

No need to correct you
Paid service like SETool Box(which I personally advise), omnius, wotan server(they provide SIM unlock, not sure about bootloader unlock).
Also having this in mind: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25802604&postcount=144
if older than 12W14, only official unlock (of course with previously removed SIM lock)

Yes.
Long story:
Technically, you can unlock it(bootloader) now, it's just you won't be able to use it until you remove SIM lock, as SIM lock is also locking fastboot, which you need to access your unlocked bootloader.
Is it possible to SIM unlock with software, I mean free?

There isn't discovered free way to remove SIM lock. Unless you ask your tele operator, and he is good enough to unlock it

I have one more question. With a custom kernel, does it really improve the overall experience?
I'm on ICS now and the phone isn't up to my expectations being honest. It's not as fluid and responsive as it should be even that I use a custom ROM (ICS pureness). So I wonder if a kernel would benefit the overall usage.
Above all, I find it troubled to do multitasking. It often needs to reopen the apps and it feels slow and games and apps lag even with the new Adreno drivers (I'm using Holo Launcher). I tried supercharging it a few months ago but I didn't notice it that much on ICS. Maybe JB runs better??
I'm seriously thinking about going back to GB. It feels snappier and more responsive. Altough I don't want to... :crying:
Hi again!
I SIM unlocked my Neo already but it still shows 'Bootloader unlock allowed = No'. Is that normal? May I unlock it now with the official way?

How you unlocked it? What program you used?
Did you try with different SIM cards?
I bought a code obtained from my phone model, carrier and IMEI.
Then I introduced another SIM card from a different carrier and my phone asked for that code. So, I introduced it and my phone now can be used with other carriers.
Then I inserted my SIM card again and I checked my phone unlock status. And it says 'no'.

Why you didn't follow my suggestion and used apps which I suggested?
Anw, I'm not sure now.
Install drivers from latest flashtool,
turn off phone, hold down menu key and connect cable to phone, let the PC recognize phone and install drivers,
start flashtool, click on lightning icon and select fastboot mode, click on "get ver info" and "get device info" in the main flashtool window you should see some info.
What does it say?
p.s. you can always try with testpoint method or by official method and see if it will work.

Sorry, I understood that I had to SIM unlock it first in order to unlock the bootloader then. I'll retrieve the information but I have to install windows first.

What are you complaining about? Why don't buy a ticket to watch a film or sth instead of being so rude?
Ok. I've got Flashtool 0.9.8 installed in GNU/Linux and Flashtool 0.9.5 in Windows 7.
It seems I cannot enter in fastboot mode within either one. In fact, after entering in flash mode (holding down back button) my phone always enters in flash mode except if I hold down the menu button, in which case it enters in normal (charging?) mode.
