Stock kernel help - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm looking through this forum, since I have made mess in my galaxy S2 I9100,
I have put another kernel on when I would roote phone, but have now had problems with it will not update so now shows with the little update icon in the left corner, now I would like to have it back to the original kernel, but forgot of course to write it up before I rooted, I've tried with a XWKF3 that should be stock for my model, however, my phone does not start when the kernel is loaded in the phone
Hope some could help me,
Best Regards

Hi,
I have now tried to find a stock firmware for my phone, unfortunately without success.
The phone was purchased in 3 Denmark, so assume it must be one of these
Denmark
XWKE1:
Firmware info: PDA: XWKE1 Phone: NEKD5 CSC: HTDKE1
XWKE1 Stock Kernel:
Password is: intra tech @ XDA
XWKF4:
Firmware info: PDA: XWKF4 | Phone: NEKF2 | CSC: HTDKF2
XWKF4 Stock Kernel:
But none of these pages can I download from.

Try here. Or Samfirmware.com

[Q] Installing Stock Samsung Firmware on phone with 3 UK Firmware

Hi there, hope I could have a moment of your time.
I am hoping to upgrade from 3 UK 2.3.3 to Samsung Stock 2.3.4, here is my current information:
PDA: I9100 XWKF4
Phone: I9100 NEKF2
CSC: I9100 H3GKF1
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKF4-CL280512 [email protected] #2
Network Information: Pay Monthly 3 UK, but Unlocked
Is it possible to do this and still have a fully functioning phone, and if so which, PDA, Phone and CSC files do I require?
P.S. I have both ODIN and Kies installed and phone is currently rooted. I have attached two images with all relevant information to this message.
If your phones rooted, just grab a CWM flashable zip, boot into recovery and flash from there.

sorry but what does this mean? Can I not just flash a firmware using odin?
Everything you need to know is here
Go for KG6 or KH3 as they are the newer 2.3.4 roms and known to work/be good.
You may have to manually enter your APN settings, from here

[Q] Which Firmware and Kernel are the ones actually on my phone?

Hello xda-developers
Okay, this will sound like a noob question but I just want to be sure:
I've got a T-Mobile branded Samsung Galaxy S2 here and on the informations page it says the following [Sorry for german language]:
Code:
Modellnummer:
GT-I9100
Android-Version:
2.3.3
Basisbandversion:
I9100BOKG1
Kernel-Version:
2.6.35.7-I9100BOKG2-CL255512
[email protected] #2
Buildnummer:
GINGERBREAD.BOKG2
Let's assume I flash over another Firmware and Kernel and want to go back to stock: Are this the two files I have to use?

You have KG2 firmware with its Stock kernel, simple.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Okay, then the firmware from Intratech mentioned above should bring back the defaults? And could you (or someone else) please help me and explain what the "BO" in "BOKG2" stands for? I'm really new into firmware / kernel names.
Thanks a lot
Bo is the region where your phone original came from.
Okay, just tried to flash those two files (Firmware and Kernel) and it's back to stock Thanks for the help

To start with, go with the CF -root kernel which has the same version of the firmware that you want to flash. The latest firmware available is KH3 and so you choose the CF root KH3 kernel. If you want to use the latest firmware specific to your region then check the stock firmware thread by 'intratech'.

You need a KE4 kernel from CF-root. If you can't find KE4 grab the closest KE# one that you can.
You do not want KH3

He's not on a KH3 rom, so why should he get a KH3 kernel?
why I dont want KH3? is it corrupt or something?

read the post properly. I gave him a generic answer with KH3 as example.

No. what he said was to root a KE4 kernel you need a rooted KE4 kernel? that is right.
I gave a generic answer and mentioned KH3 as example since it is the latest firmware.

Odin

I need some help can some one please post a link for me to be able to install a stock rom using Odin.
The reason is I used Odin to install ICS on the phone but as it installed I lost root and cant get it back so I am hoping if I can use Odin to install a stock rom I can then root again and be a happy user again.
Many Thanks
Ian B (UK)
If you've installed ICS in odin, you should know how to flash back to gingerbread.

If you had clicked the link, you would have seen a thread called "[ROM+Guide]Official i9100 Firmwares KG, KH, KI, KJ, KK1/2/5, KL1/2/3, LA2 Download" it has all the firmware you need.

You DO have an I9100, right? Not an I9100G?
Sounds like you have a bootloop after attempting flashing with the bottom two firmwares you have listed. Have you tried a full wipe/factory reset? (See here.)
GT-i9100
I just checked I have an GT-i9100 i do rember that when i ran those mods it does give me a chance to wipe cache so I will give that a go and see what happens thanks

[Q] Downgrading to Gingerbread

I jumped in and flashed an ICS leaked rom onto my phone, It runs well enough but I have a nagging feeling it's not right and I want to go back to gingerbread and as if it was fresh out the box. I flashed XXLPB rom, kernel and Modem a few days ago. I have found what I think are all the files I need.
I am trying to download this from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278&highlight=stock+rom but multiupload isn't working
XWKI4
Android 2.3.4
This package has: PDA: XWKI4| Modem/phone: XXKI1| CSC: XEUKD1

Is downgrading as simple as flashing all these parts onto my phone through Odin?
I don't care about data loss and stuff, I have an old CWM back up before I went ICS.
(Ps, I spent about 5 minutes searching and couldn't find anything definitive so if this already exists then I apologise)
Yes it's that simple!

And a final thing, I take it an XXLPB modem will not work with a XXKI4 rom/kernel?

It will work, modems can work on any firmware version.
