For some reason all of the sudden couple of days ago my amaze doesnt recognize my sim card in the mobile network settings and when I try to put in a APN it wont save it nor does it recognize the default APN. I tried a new ROM followed the normal procedure and still the same thing. I basically have no internet. Help please

well basically what i did was i just reloaded the phone with SpeedRom and so far so good, i dont it was weird, i really didnt want to go to the extent of having to do a warranty exchange because even if i were to relock the device, when i go to the bootloader its still gonna show on the screen RELOCKED and that will avoid the warranty. Isnt there a way to not for it to show that because i think i saw it somewhere in one of the forums. I deff did the battery pull before anything didnt help.

I have had no data connection in the last few days. solid signal, but no data. i have done almost everything i can do and still the same result. switched back to Rev.A and i can get 3g "ok", not sure whats up. Any suggestions? I also reflashed the Mr2 radio and no change.
Another thought is my SIM card might have taken a dump. Id be willing to take it into verizon and get a new sim but dont want to unroot, revert to stock. got way to much going on with my phone to just start from scratch again : ( just so i can "try" if a new SIM would work. what would happen if i took my rooted thunderbolt into a verizon store for a new SIM card?. Would they Deny me service?or put a note on my account stating i have rooted and voided my warranty?. Just curious as to what would happen. they would deffidently notice right off the bat because of my sense 3.0 rom, kernal, gingerbread, signal icons,lock ring,signal bars, spash screen, boot animation and sound, etc...

Well I know you said you don't want to but just make a nandroid backup before you unroot and stick it on your pc for safe keeping. Then when you are re-rooted just wipe everything and restore the backup and you are EXACTLY where you were before. Plus with Revolutionary re-rooting takes all of 5-10 minutes.

Talk to the guys there. Get a feel for them... The guys at the shops near me couldn't care less about a rooted device. As long as the software isn't the issue, which a bum SIM shouldn't be, they shouldn't really care. I'd feel them out a bit before assuming unrooting is a must. You might get lucky.
I will send this thread up. This is exactly the problem I am experiencing. The Thunderbolt has perfectly good network signal but data connection is not working. It complains about "SIM card not found" when entering the Settings and APNs. The SIM card is detected by the device otherwise, it's possible to save contacts to it and retrieve them. But 4G data is completely dead.
I visited a VZW store yesterday and received a new SIM card but the problem is still there. I have also tried to reflash to the latest leaked radio without any solution.
The ROM used is the latest Synergy Nightly.
I begin to consider the possibility of restoring the Thunderbolt back to stock and get a replacement but it would be good if this problem can be solved.

Theres a issue with some roms not being desprinted enough and flashing them can corupt the vzw setup. Either flash back to orig and reroot or do the ##whatever and make sure your data config is right. If i helped and im sure i did click thanks

My co-workers phone service got cut off recently, and after it was re-connected, she lost 4G. I had her on Synergy 255 and had the latest radios I found which was CDMA: 1.48.00.0906 LTE: 0.01.78.0906. Even when I updated her to Synergy 262, the problem persisted.
Anyone know what might have happened, I know the recent OTA update for gingerbread has been giving people problems, is it possible the OTA update problem also affected her phone since she was already in gingerbread?
I just put BAMF Forever 1.0.7 on her phone, and it's still only able to connect to 3G, is the problem on verizon's side?
Check your settings in say an app like LTE on/off make sure she is in LTE mode or cdma/LTE

tried to put her on LTE mode only a few time before, and she can only get 1x speed.
Unroot it, return to stock with the full RUU and see if its busted. If it is you probably have a bad radio in the phone...I had to send my first TB back a week after I got it for this reason.....
Customer service was very helpful believe it or not, just make sure you tell them you have already done a hard reset on the phone, done the OTA's and 4G still doesn't work. The will ask you your build number, etc. to make sure it matches what's "in the system".
So just return to unrooted Froyo, do any and all upgrades to get it current, if it still doesn't work you should be able to get a new phone.

Another idea is that the sim card is dead.
Verizon 4G sim cards can't be reactivated once their deactivated, this happens when you try activate a 3G phone on verizon from a 4G phone, the sim will be dead in 24 hours, I'm guessing the problem may be the same here, once the SIM was disconnected in the system, it can't be reactivated.
Unfortunately to get a new sim, you'll still have to return to unrooted stock to get support from Verizon, but I expect the phone itself is just fine.
Verizon employees are still somewhat inexperienced dealing with these 4G sim cards from what I've seen in stores, so they may have failed to account for that when they reactivated the service.
That seems more likely to me than the phone just happened to break when the service was disconnected.
Did you ever try just flashing another radio? It's worth a try. I would try flashing the radios from the 1.70.605.0 build.

You we're exact on the mark about the sim registration. I told her to replace the sim. And sure enough it worked after it was activated. Glad I didn't I have to resort to going stock and unrooting... She probably would've beat me up...

My friend thought he bricked his phone and wanted to throw it away but i talked him into giving it to me. So when i got itthere was nothing on his phone internal and nothing on his sd card. So am guessing it was bricked but i was able to get into hboot mode so i thought its not brickied so i downloaded a lot of rom and all that good stuff and i came across onnthat worked its even on ics but the thing is i cant get signal so am gonna mess with it some more and see if i cant get a signal i will up date later tonight seeing that am exicited and cant sleep i might have a new rezound for sale later on ebay :0

There's no official ICS update, so if the phone is on ICS then it's running one of the ROMs a dev made. Look in
Settings > About Phone Software Information > More
and see if you can tell which one and then check that thread and see if there's been any signal issues. Mine has the ROM name under "Build Number".

Ive read about getting a new radio for signal now Ive used google xda and other forums but have now idea on how to get a new radio would you now how to get one for the htc rezound. I found a page but didnt want to download because it said could give you black screen and I dont want that agian. If you can give me the radio number from your phone so I can download the right one PLZ.

when I go to the HBOOT screen and it scans file in grenn letters one always comes out PH98DIAG.NBH no image or wrong image what does that mean do you know. sorry for all the ?s but I am new and this is fun learning all this stuff.

YES the sim is in there and it is active using mine from my phone Ive tried everything from removing the sim and putting it back in and rebooting and the back cover is on
Your best bet would be to flash a GB kernel, or if you're on a GB kernel you should flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1467329 . It includes the firmware update that will update radio, hboot etc.

If you are using 4g sim from another phone it won't work. The Verizon sim cant be swapped out like gsm sims IIRC

^Forgot to mention this derp. But he is correct, you would need a new sim that they would program for the rezound.
I have been searching for 3 days trying to find the problem. I have an AT&T Galaxy s 2 that I rooted using the Zedomax root through ODIN. I unlocked it to use for my T-mobile service. Everything was working fine for months. Then one day I woke up to use my phone and there was a circle with a cross through it. I am not able to call out or even get a data connection. So I tried flashing back to stock no root and same thing. I put a AT&T sim in and it was the same thing. Flashed back to root several times and I still get the same thing. I checked to see if my radio was on and it was fine. Did Either Service just block the phone? I don't get it. When I leave my house I get bars but no connection on both data or service. Yet I get all kind of texts . So why wont it let me call out or even use my browser if i go down the street and it says it has service and is getting texts? I swapped phones and works perfect so I know it can't be my SIM.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well I'm on a "no contract plan" and buy my phones cash. So no warranty. So Zedomax is bad?
Maybe flash a radio to it. I've noticed that I lose service with some roms occasionally. But when I do, I just flash a radio and it seems to fix it.
Sounds like a bad APN setting to me.

Very bad. Its well known to cause many problems on peoples phones. They usually come here after messing up their phone from his website which is no bueno and annoying. Stick with xda from now on, it won't steer u wrong

Call your service provider and verify your APN settings are correct.
From my own limited knowledge. A circle with line means no signal. Bars without a connection type icon means a signal but no service.
As far as useing the zedomax rooting method, as per the OP if it was running fine for monrhs, that clearly isn't the issue.

i have checked all my APN settings and everything seems ok to me. I have hard reset multiple times. My data packet shows on. I also checked my settings to see if my radio is on and it says yes. My Iemi number shows. I'm so confused what could be wrong. It won't work with both ATT or T-mobile. Should work no matter what considering this is an ATT phone.
i bought a new DNA from soemone. he used it once hated it so he sold it to me. i am still on a 3g phone. and i had a 4g sim card that was able to get activated. BUT, i could not ever get my DNA fully activated. it never would show my phone number on the about screen. it was all zeros. after about 2 hours with tech support, 2 sim cards (that i had already), 2 factory resets they are trying one more thing, shipping me a new sim card. they dont think it is a hardware issue since i do get a 3g signal, i can recieve data but cannot make calls nor get them...another strange thing is i can get texts but cant send them. the techs (2 different ones) think it is somehting with the "system"
the ONLY thing i never told them was right when i got the phone, i used moonshine to get s-off and installed a custom rom....would unlocking teh bootloader etc BEFORE i activated the phone cause this? jsut to be safe i restored to 100 stock LOCKED so when i get my new sim i will be able to try from scratch
anyone else ever have this issue? i wish i would of activated it the say i got it when it was 100% stock..

Are you on a custom rom? I have had problems on other phones if I was running a custom ROM and then switched sims - the new sim/phone number wouldn't activate.

I have had issues activating a phone that was rooted with Verizon- Verizon could not activate my phone until I went back to stock and un-rooted
