What exactly is the difference between night build and experimental version?
Do they mean its not the final stable version??
Also when I try switch my phone off.. it just reboots itself.
I flashed the latest version of CM9 but the problem still exists.
Battery life, there is a lot of debate about this on the forums. For me personally, this is the first day of the rom and at the moment I'm sitting at 25% , being unplugged for 5 and a half hours with 69% on screen use. is that normal?
first of all you should ask questions in Q & A section not here...
nightly build == automatic build built by bots
experimental== manually compiled build by a developer.
Oh right .. I will try and re direct

Hi guys,
I have the LPQ installed on my phone and sometimes I can not wake up my phone nor turn the phone off.
The only way out of this is to take out the battery.
If I ring the phone, it will ring endlessly even though if the other line has hung up.
Is this a known bug or shall I try to do a full wipe?
Full Wipe
Question = Q&A

That's the phone not coming out of deep sleep or similar. I had same on stock lpq. Try a full wipe, although I think your best bet Is to try one of the other ics firmwares or a different kernel. I use Cm9 last version works for me with no bugs, plus good reception and battery life

I would love tp use CM9 but as far as I know it doesn't support the strict rules of ActiveSync mail servers which I need.
I will try a full wipe... or maybe a newer ICS Firmware.

That question got asked and answered earlier today already.
There are NO final stable versions for CM9... for any device. However that doesn't mean the ROM is not stable, the developers are just aware of some bugs, tweaks and additions they want to have done before claiming it final.
Here's a table to get the relation between CM9 and Samsung ROM's:
CM9 Preview ==> Samsung Presentation
CM9 Alpha ==> Samsung Stable
CM9 Nightly ==> Samsung stable after 1. year
CM9 Stable ==> not present for Samsung ROM's
Experimental versions are builds manually compiled by the developers.
Nightly builds are automatically built every night from the source code and usually feature one of the pacman ghosts as compiler.

Is it attached to a cable?
Have you COMPLETELY wiped your phone when changing Rom?

Yes that's normal. Simple reason; you're playing with it far more the first few days than usually even if you are not aware of it.
Wait 2-3 days and start comparing. I have 1-2% standby battery drain on CM9 an CM10 preview with Sync enabled and 3G connectivity.
I'd recommend getting BetterBatteryStats though (free APK here on Xda) to see if anything drains your battery.

Thank you for your in depth answer. I did exactly that when installing the new ROM. It doesn't bother me that much, if need be I can take the battery out (when I'm over seas). Just seeing if it was a known issue or if there is something wrong on my end..
I don't really want to wipe and flash again as its taken a while to finally customize my phone the way I want it.

when the phone got up it came with 70% battery,i almost didnt use the phone since then. maybe maximum 30 total minutes on whatsapp.
edit:
here its about 3:23 am now,i got 26% left.

*if you have any recommandation about other ROM(even if its not JellyBean) i dont mind changing so far the battery will be better.
We have already had multiple topics about this.
If you have problems with a specific rom you should check specific roms thread.
So first of all there is a BBS thread where u get better and more direct help to this problem.
Second if u have this since a flash of Rom or kernel try a reflash (maybe a kind of "bad" flash)
If u want a recommendation for another Rom I can say that RootBox is quite good in battery.
U have to choose if 3.2 (4.1.2) or to newest (3.4).

Hey guys, sorry if this is not the right spot, I have a Samsung s2 with kitkat, the battery life is terrible.. I mean not the usage but whenever I charge my device it stays on 4% and doesn't move, unless I don't use the device and then it charges extremely slowly, I turned off ok google and that seemed to help for about a day and now it's just doing the same thing, this is with stock kernel, dorminx, different kitkat Roms, this didn't happen on stock 4.1.2, any help would be great

You might have something draining your battery... Charge your phone to 100% then show me a screenshot from the battery page in the settings when it goes to 1% or a "better battery stats" log
You should try other roms. Curently on my sisters SII runing Resurrection Remix 4.4.2 KitKat v5.1.5 and battery life is great.
Personally, I don't recommend dorimanx's kernel to anyone. By far, they are the least stable and have bugs (mainly because official development has been discontinued). Try using Pedestre's apolo kernel. Stable ever since earlier release.
Sorry for delay guys, I completly forgot about this. It is because this device has very limited charging (650 max) it happens on all roms, stock kernel or different. I may try that kernel, but dorimanx kernel rc3 is very well stable.

ho to all i've bought an used s2 that has a problem with the battery. it drains very fast, even with al services disabled. i've bought a brand new samsung battery and also a non original battery with more mha, but the phone discharges always very fast. i'v try to recalibrate the battery with no results...i've last cyanogen rom on it
try change ROM or kernel
Wich rom and kernel do you suggest me
My suggestion:
1. check your battery stats and google fixes to apps that drain ur battery
2. install greenify
3. install custom roms, my suggestion: slimsaber + dorimanx
Whats dorimanx

Dorimanx is a kernel, not a rom.
I ve seen that slimsaber is like a beta not a stable version righe?

Hi, I have got very same problem! I spent like last two years with trying different ROMs. I tried CM, Omega, NeatROM,... but never found one ROM which will not drain battery so quickly...
My girlfriend has got Alcatel OT6010 which has got similar specs as S2 and her phone lasts for 4 days! if she is not on internet all the time. Mine with new extended battery, lasts maximum 2 days max. I am really dissapointed about that
Therefore I would like to ask someone whether he/she can recommend some stable (not alpha or beta) ROM with Android 4.1 or above. Different Kernel is also welcome.
I am looking forward for any help on this!

Your technically correct. It isn't very stable yet.

Since you've tested many roms already, the problem could be caused by old circuitry on the phone. My phone last for 2 days max without using it too, although choosing the right kernel for you could slightly increase battery life (e.g dorimanx or apolo). In terms of stability, cyanogenmod is never perfect, don't use slimsaber, neat rom was quite stable for me, paranoid android was ok, never tried cyan fox, PAC rom isn't going to be updated for a while and is nightlies only, carbon rom is nightlies only. So yeah, just go with neat rom or paranoid android (stable)or cm11 (and wait for next snapshot).
Can i use paranoid with dorimanx?
I haven't had any problems so far with slim saber.
Have you tried the app 'Greenify' yet? It can hibernate apps that drain battery in background.
Another suggestion: Tasker app
Create profiles that for example turn on / off mobile data.
2 days battery life, that's epic for the s2..I get 1 day max at the mo ...and never had much more on any ROM/kernal

Yeah you can. You just need to check what version of dorimanx you install.
There is one for ics/jelly bean and one for kitkat.
And depending on what version of s2 you have you need to check what rom you install. Not sure if dorimanx is available for i9100g
By the way in terms of battery drainage I faced the same problem.
For me it had several causes:
1. My mobile connection wasn't very good and therefore my phone got hot while searching good signal - I flashed a new modem to improve connection... If this won't help a new provider is needed I guess
2. Too many apps running in the background - as already said in a post above greenify will help there a lot as it prevents app from starting without you wanting it
3. Also I installed a new kernel - I'm using dorimanx too. It's battery profile can help a lot
4. Pure performances x (Zeno edition) my phone got a lot faster after flashing this. Also it drains less battery when being idle.
Hope this can help you.
