So have always used my phones alarm to wake up in the morning, I have used the stock GSIII alarm for the past 3 days but it doesn't ring long enough..... it only rings for a couple of minutes and turns off, anyone now how to change it?

Do you know if you have to leave the phone on for the alarm to work or will alarm on start the phone in the morning?
I haven't tried it but I assume you have to have it on for the alarm to ring.

A couple minutes isn't long enough? Wow, i'm up after it rings just a few seconds.
You might need one of these
There's some deep sleepers out there, don't underestimate
Um... there's no way to extend the time of the song. Have you tried using snooze? That itself can make it ring over an hour.
If you're looking to change the ringtone to your own custom one, you should be able to set your own alarm tone in the settings...
Sorry if I misunderstood.
The stock alarm sucks, imo. I tried it but I'm colorblind and could never figure out what days the alarm was set for. I installed one called alarm clock plus and it's awesome. Much better than the stock one.

I have the volume all the way up for the alarm, but when it rings in the morning, it is very very low. It was like this before the maintenance release posted by Yay 4 Juggs and it is the same after I installed the release.
Anyone else having this problem?
Yep, same problem here.
Got my phone yesterday. Alarm failed to wake me up this morning.
Luckily I forgot to turn off my old phone and that alarm went off 15 minutes later.
(I changed my alarm time to 15 minutes earlier on my Photon)
Are you using the stock alarm app? Try downloading alarm clock plus and see if it still does it

Yes, the stock alarm is the one I was using.
I just tried it with Alarm Clock Plus and the same thing happened.
Edit: I was able to adjust the settings for Alarm Clock Plus and there were a few settings for the volume. So now the alarm works as it should with ACP. With the stock alarm app, volume is still very low though.
is there a better alarm clock than the stock one? one with more options and tones and such?
Options such as what? Any alarm tones/sounds (although there is a file size limit on stock rom) can be added/selected by the user.

the pre-alarm is so awesome.....
I like g-alarm, but it is paid. It was the only good custom alarm app for Win 6.5 and I stuck with it when I switched.
If you are really bad about hitting the snooze a lot without thinking about it you can set up puzzles and math problems to solve before the alarm will shut off.
Alarm Clock Plus
Google Desk Clock FTW!
Best clock out there....
Just push the apk file to your system/app folder...

+1. Always works, and hasn't failed me.
I also set it up so I'm forced to solve math problems in order to snooze it. It ALMOST helps me get up on time.

I also use this feature! It hasn't failed me yet...
I don't have a problem with the stock alarm in general but is there one where I can tap to snooze? When my alarm goes off at 6am it is sometimes difficult to differentiate between snooze and off on stock.

Try “dock clock". Put it on my wife's rezound for her to use as clock/alarm. Soft keys are off while in use. You can set it to activate automatically when plugged in after a specific time (I set for 8:00pm). That way the app automatically opens when you plug it in at night but NOT during the day. Works excellent with or without dock.

nice app, thanks
The app 'screen filter' can turn off the keyboard backlight with the caveat that you need to turn the screen off then back on after starting it.
I am going to try out dock clock. I like gentle alarm as my alarm, but no reason it needs to also be the foreground clock.

Hello. I am running the stock T-mobile 4.3 Rom and I am wanting to be able to see the time that my alarm is set for to show up on my lock screen. Is there any way to add this feature? Thanks.

Mine does that. I think it only shows if your phone is locked with some sort of security. I have the pattern lock enabled on mine and it shows that as well as the battery percentage as it's charging.

Do you mean alarms, or the upcoming appointments from the calendar? The appointments will show up if the "Productivity" lock screen is selected. I personally never use the alarm function - I set all my alarms via reminders in the calendar.
Yea I mean the alarm. I have some daily alarms set and it would be nice to see the next alarm time on the lockscreen.

With my S4 the Alarm clock app had a function where you could set your location with the GPS, if you were not at that location then that alarm (time) did not activate.
In the S5 it does not have this ability, can anyone recommend an alarm app to use instead of the stock one?

YES! I was wondering this same thing. I loved that feature.
Looking for app
I also enjoyed the alarm with the GPS function of the S4, is there an app the does the same thing?
You could probably do this with tasker. I dont use tasker so i cant give any exact instructions, should be fairly simple though.

I have a Droid Turbo now (a piece junk). What is "tasker"?

Its an app that performs things based on when certain conditions are met, like turn your gps off when you connect to wifi or something.
