I can't find the settings for social tag. I take a photo of people and it gives me the wrong suggestions for tagging. How can I turn it off? Thanks.
anyone?

If you go into gallery, and select a picture that you took with camera, you can then click settings button and turn off 'Face Tag'. That should turn it off
thanks!

Go to gallery, open album, open one picture, press "Menu", Choose "Face tag", choose "Off".
Thank you, for some reason I assumed these settings could only be in the general settings for the app, i didn't think to go there.
I like face tagging...but the name really should fade away shortly and just display the picture and maybe just show back up if you tap the picture.

When I put my phone in this dock, I always get a popup offering me a couple of apps. I don't want any apps to run when docking, any ideas how I get rid of this bloody annoying popup?
I tried putting an action in SmartConnect, which runs, but the popup STILL appears! :crying:
Please help...

Already off.
It is the "Smart Connect" application that launches an application called "view".
SC can trigger different events when the phone is placed in the magnetic dock. The default one being to start a slide-show of your stored photos.
With the phone in the dock you can slide from the top, select the view app (looks like a blue wavy thing) and hold down the slide-show and remove it.
Or launch SC and just turn off View completely with the blue switch at the top.

No, it's not. View is disabled in Smart Connect, so there is no Notification. As I said in the OP, even if I put an action in SmartConnect, this popup appears in addition...
Turning the view thing off completely using the switch at the top as described above worked for me.

Not for me, because as I said it's not SmartConnect doing it. View is already disabled.
Could you please try posting Screenshots for further assistance?

Does anyone know how to turn off the shutter sound? I'm surprised I cannot find this option anywhere.
Thank You!

Thanks found it via search as you suggested. Noticed though there's no three stacked dots in location that's why struggled to access it
Is there a way to sort favorites? I don't even know how they are sorted.

What firmware are you on? Mine definitely lets me organise them up and down. I'd do a screen recording but I have pictures and names set in my favourites that I'd prefer the whole internet not to see

I was about to say "yes, it definitely works" - but alas, it only appears to work - after clicking the tick on the top-right corner (presumably to save), they revert back to their previous order.
FWIW, I'm using a Mate 10 ALP-L29 with 8.0.0.128(C636) firmware.

127-C432 firmware
Same here. Once you tick the sorting is gone.
I just discovered this, after I had absolutely same issue with the same phone:
In Chrome open contacts.google.com, where you can edit and organize all your contacts.
In the left menu click on your starred/favourites,
Deselect all contacts that have, until now, been selected as favourites, but don't click on anything else after this.
In your phone, go to Settings > Users & Accounts > Google > [your Google account] and hit "Sync". After a short while, your phone's favourites should be empty.
Back to Chrome, mark a contact as a favourite (add the star to its name), then hit "Sync" in your phone"s settings, then check in your phone contacts. That contact should now be the first on your favourites' list. Then go and repeat that with the second and third contact and so on. After each sync, the favourite contact should appear in your phone's favourites in the order you have selected them as favourites.
Moreover, now you can rearrange them in your phone without the arrangement being reset every time you hit the check icon!
