error while flashing kernel - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

guys can anyone help me to flash mesa v1.5!? when I put the renamed file (.img-.boot.img) in kernel_instalation_package/fastboot and double-click on flash cmd gives me error: cannot load boot.img! tryed also with extended stock kernel and error is still there!
some info about my phone:
stock ics 4.1.B.0.431 not rooted
unlocked bootloader with s1tool (testpoint method)

File name has to be boot.img and it has to be in the same folder as the flash.cmd file.

Flash to CM7: Stuck at sending boot.img

Hello everyone.
I am just trying to flash my Xperia Mini Pro to CM7.
But when I am trying to send the "boot.img" it seems to get stuck.
this is my sonsole output:
Code:
E:\Programme\AndroidSDK\platform-tools>.\fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce flash boot boot.img
sending 'boot' (5272 KB)...
this already stayed for about 30min.
is it normal that it takes so long?
if not, what do I have to do to fix it?
Thanks,
McFarlane
It's just take around 2sec to flash.
Try flashing boot.img using flashtool

I followed the instructions of the wiki. Can I verify somehow that it is unlocked?
(I've just installed this flashtool. But how to flash with it? )
My guess is u havent unlock the bootloader yet.
Heres a good tool to do it the official way, which might void your warranty if u choose to do so.

I've used the program and it said, that the BL was already unlocked.
Open dialpad and type

Then u already have unlock bootloader. Try to reflash the kernel again.
Btw did u enter fastboot mode when u try to flash earlier?
Led should be blue in fastboot mode.

i tried flashing the boot.img at least ten times and it got stuck every time.
Try with the bootloader unlock tool. It can flash kernel too.
just try flash it with an0nym0us_ said before

reflash your stock rom with Xperia Flashtool and try again. You can also try a different usb cable or computer also is the fastboot driver installed ? take a look under device manager.

I installed the fastboot driver during the flashtool installation.
The Device Manager shows it as Android ADB Device.
Also, to flash the Xperia in Flashtools, it excpects from me to hold down the back button while plugging in the cable.
Which is not possible because it is a touch button. So noothing happens -.-
Its volume down button for flash mode, not back button :/

Volume down button works for flash mode. But it fails with errors:
08/041/2012 23:41:42 - ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="SECURITY_CLASS";ERR_DYNAMIC="SIN header verification failed"
I never excpected this update to be so difficult...
I've updated my old G1 to CM once and it took me 1h with reformatting the SD card using a HEX editor -.-
What is this miniCM7?
According to the description it is available for X8, X10 and X10 mini pro. So it won't work on my device either?

flashtool support all 2011 device
check release note for detail
http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/
I tried to follow the how to of the Cyanogenmod Wiki for my phone.
But flashing using their instructions doesn't work and anything the flashtool can do is not working either.
Its either failing or gets stuck without any response.
I am now downloading and trying the CM7 you have linked in your post.
Maybe this one will work...
Thats what I did now:
I downloaded the file you linked and extracted the boot.img
Then I connected my phone in Fastboot mode and tried to flash the kernel using the Flashtool - Fastboot Toolbox via the button "Select kernel to Flash".
Log output shows now: "09/016/2012 00:16:51 - INFO - Flashing selected kernel"
After that, nothing happens.
What do I do now?

Please help!!! I want to root my xperia S and its boot loader is unloacked

Hello, I have sony xperia s and i want to root my device when i followed the following method
"How to SONY Xperia S LT26i with Official ICS Firmware
Download the following packages and save the files on your device-Nazomi Recovery Image, Super User
Place the files on your computer “platform-tool”
Connect your device using the orginal USB cable
Download this kernel and place it in the inbuilt memory of your phone
Now open Command prompt and type the following code”fastboot flash boot recovery-nozomi.img“
Now enter recovery mode and Super user and kernel placed on your SD card
Now open any compressing program and extract the downloaded filed named “kernel.sin”
Enter the following code in command prompt again “fastboot flash boot kernel.sin"
Click to collapse
when i follow these steps i get a message in cmd prompt that "Your device is not rooted."
How can i root the device? what is the easiest and best way to root it.
Do u want to use custom ROM or stock ROM?? If its an stock rom then search threads and look for Advanced Stock Kernel ( Depending on ICS or GB whichever u want to flash) . Then just follow these steps after flashing as i was advised which worked flawlessly
If you just want to root your stock , here is what i would do:
- download the advanced stock kernel (GB/ICS) by DooMLord
- connect the phone to pc via fastboot mode (i.e turn off and then connect the phone to pc via usb with vol. up key pressed)
- flash the advanced stock kernel using fastboot command. Just extract and copy the kernel.elf file from fastbootbinaries, save it in the fastboot installation folder.
- switch on the phone an wait for some time
- Again, switch off and go to fastboot or flashmode.
- then with 7zip extract kernel.sin from the stock ftf (Right click >Open Archive>Choose kernel.sin>Extract) and flash it using flashtool or fastboot command.
- Restart Your Phone and Valah!
If you follow these steps, then you should have a stock firmware with full root acess! good luck :good:!
P.S : YES u have to flash kernel two times. One from Doomkernel or Advanced Kernel (same) and then again with the original kernel.sin

Bro, you saved my life. It did the trick, tomorrow will hit thanx for sure.
Questions:
1. How to verify i have unlocked bootloader?
2. Now having the stock ICS rom, what CWM to install so i can flash CM9?
Thanx
Just use the CWM kernel found in the Sola forum. That shouldn't be a problem as all you need is an ICS kernel (Not a GB).
You could have just flashed the CWM kernel if you had fastboot and mount SD in CWM
As for whether bootloader is unlocked, I recall if fastboot can see your device, it should be unlocked (fastboot device command or something)
glad it worked enjoy modding your phone :good:
To know if your bootloader is unlocked or not, you need to go to the folder where fastboot.exe is present and then Open Command Prompt in that folder and type the following command:
Code:
fastboot getvar secure
Turn off your phone and press and hold the Volume Down button when you are connecting the USB.
You can let go of the Volume Down button once the fastboot finds your device.

Congrats for the brick.
Can you still get into fastboot/flash mode?
I've yet to hear about someone who used rexoveryx and it worked, forget all about it.
There is flashtool for linux, you can use it.
BTW, the only files you flash with fastboot, are with img, elf or sin extention.

I have downloaded flash tool for linux but I cannot get it work .. I cannot get it to install or anything
isn't there a way to do all this manually through Terminal Fastboot commands?
That's the only thing that I can manage to work.
Edit : I have flashed the boot.img file from the downloaded ROM I did it this way (fastboot flash boot boot.img)
and now fortunately the phone starts and also now can be charged but the OS doesn't start .. I think this can be because I haven't flashed the OS but only the boot img?
what can I do now?
P.S : I cannot use the Flashtool or RecoveryX :/ so if there's a way to do it via fastboot or something it will really be appreciated
