installing rom reverted my basband to gb - HTC Rezound

Hey guys, I installed the new venom Rom coming from the latest ics leak, I love everything about this Rom but I noticed that my baseband reverted back to the gb versions, I was never able to get 4g in my area on these old versions. I tried restoring back to the ics Rom and still have the old baseband. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
**UPDATE**
I got everything updated with a flash of an ICS RUU. I Relocked bootloader, flashed file, New Basebands and Hboot.

Uh.... what? No ROM out there does this. It would be highly irresponsible and dangerous to include radio updates in a ROM, and that ROM definitely doesn't have a radio update in the zip

Hmm.. It has me stumped. I thought it was kinda odd that even after restoring my ICS backup that had the new basebands it still restored with the old basebands.

The basebands aren't part of the rom nor are they stored when you do a nandroid backup of a rom. If you reverted them, you didn't do it from installing a new rom.
Any chance you s-off'd the phone lately?

Are you confusing the build number with the baseband numbers?
It is impossible to flash a radio in recovery so there is no was switching roms did this

My phone is still S-on for now, and I'm looking at the basebands (0.95.00.1118R, 0.95.00.1223R) I think ill try to flash the ICS RUU again and see what happens.

I wanna flash a Rom with old firmware.

I'm not a big phone geek but I know enough to root and unlock my rezound. I wanna run a Rom but I still have the old firm ware. Are there any roms out there that I can use with the old firmware and no sense. Please help. Thanks for your guys time.

You can run any rom you want. If you run an ICS rom with the leaked firmware you need the firmware patch.
Where do I find the firmware patch. The software that my phone is running is 2.91.605.11
The pri version is 1.13_002, 1.88_002

All the info you need is posted in the Roms op ........... In the dev section. In the install instructions.

I suggest running BAMF or Rezrom. Bamf you can already get in a senseless flavor, Rezrom you would have to enable AOSP lockscreen in Rezrom Tweaks & would have to install a launcher of your choice. Once you get the rom fully booted, do a reboot to recovery, do a USB moutn to rename PH98IMG in SD card root and flash old firmware patches, so you can access your sd card again.
I wanna thank everyone that helped me flash a senseless Ics rom. Thank you.

You can flash the older radio that you were on before, but I do not think there is anyway currently to go back to the older firmware.
Here's Captain Throwback's radio thread: http://themikmik.com/showthread.php...dio-Collection&p=220556&viewfull=1#post220556

[Q] phone turns off randomly!

im running adrenaline 2.0 and the latest global firmware does anybody have a problem with the phone rebooting randomly at first i thought it was kernel related but i have switched kernels and nothing it still does it.
i already factory reset wiped the phone and ran the ruu again installed the rom clean no restores and it still happens

The rom was not made for the global firmware. It's for the .12 ruu.

That is correct, either revert to the .12 ruu or use a global rom.

Reboot issues

So, I recently S-OFF my rezound and rooted it etc. I seem to be getting constant rebooting everytime I turn the screen on to use the phone. So, when i wake the phone and unlock it and start to dial a number for example it reboots. ANy ideas on what's wrong? Thanks!
also i notice it only happens on sense roms. Only sense 4.0 tested though
Sounds like you are on old firmware. You may need the old firmware patch. What firmware are you on? Here it is if you need it. Flash in recovery after Rom

So just flash a 3.6 rom and it should fix it? I tried flashing the file above but still a no go. Only rom that works with out it rebooting is asop. Currently on miui. Gonna try that though.

you deffinitely have to upgrade your firmware with the ota ruu or the global leak ruu! here is the ota .12 one
here is the global one http://bit.ly/TRMmvF
Ya.... If I remember correctly those are gb radios. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Either way those are some old azz radios.... I would update to the latest global leak so you can flash anything without issue.

Noob related questions

Yesterday I unlocked my bootloader, got TWRP recovery, got S-OFF and rooted my phone. Is there anything else important I need to do?
I also got ext4, which i believe got rid of TWRP because now i can't find it. Which is better?
I flashed a new kernel, but it broke the wifi, there were no wifi modules so I returned to stock kernel. I'm using Flash Image GUI. Is that the best way to flash roms and kernels? Something's telling me its not.
On a related note what seems to be the best overall kernel + rom configuration? I know its opinion based but from what I've seen there's not much descriptive information on roms and kernels.
This is my first HTC device, help much appreciated.

4 ext recovery is recomended for Evo. Personaly I always flashed my kernels via recovery (same as ROM flashing but wipe cashe and dalvik only). As for ROM kernel combo, that's up to you and your phone. My best combo might not even work on your phone, so it's flashing time for you. Flash away and find what works the best

Might sound stupid but is there any instructional video for using ext4? I've never used this recovery and want to make sure I'm flashing kernels and rooms correctly.
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
I don't know about tutorials but it's easy. Before flashing just wipe everything except SD card ( you can do this twice, just to be sure there are no leftover files) and choose zip file to flash. Always flash ROM first. You can flash kernel right after the ROM but I always boot my ROM, let it settle for few minutes and then boot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik and then flash kernel. That's all there is to it. You can also fix permissions after you flash the ROM but I never did it and had no problems.

So i can flash a JB rom before i flash a JB kernel?
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
Yes because all ROMs come with kernels, so if you don't like the kernel you got with ROM, just flash another one. You know you can't flash JB ROMs on certain h-boots right?

Sorry, I got something mixed up. I was on GSM so I can't tell you about h-boot but you should find the answer to that in Evo CDMA development section
Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
If you want to flash jb or kitkat, you need to change your hboot to 1.50 or lower.
Make sure you are flashing cdma files, the ones for gsm will cause many headaches and potential brick.
There is a thread somewhere with the cdma hboots, I will try and find it

Yeah I'd like to get JB or even KK.
Not sure what's the best.
For example the XPERIA PLAY works best on GB roms because of game play compatibility. Not sure is the evo V has any of these catches.

Kitkat is still in testing
Jb mostly work well
Ics is solid
Gb is solid
General rule of thumb is if its anything other than ics sense, you need 1.50 or lower....I recommend jbear 1.50.5050
Post 7 has all the downloads

So what do i flash these zips with?
All this HTC crap seems difficult...
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
First make a nandroid backup and backup your app data and such
Then you'll want to flash a Rom that boots with both hboots (1.57(58) and 1.50)
There's a bunch but I know butterz sense does work
Then put jbear 1.50 zip on the root of your sd
Rename that file pg86img.zip
Reboot to bootloader and accept the update
Reboot the phone
Now make sure you remove or rename that pg86img.zip
Now you can reboot to bootloader and verify your hboot changed
If its changed you're good to go flash jb, kk, or gb:thumbup:

I think i follow you, besides the part where i download and rename jbear 1.50, i don't know where to find that. Google didn't help.
*EDIT*
Ignore that last post, I'm on 1.50 with s-off now, thanks!
However, this is the second rom now that has broke my wifi, why is that? I haven't activated my phone yet so wifi is the only way i connect to the internet on my phone

Try flashing the ROM again without wiping anything (dirty flash). That may solve your wi-fi issue
