Hi all, want to congratulate you on this forum, I hope you can help me.
Recently bought this "SGP 5.0 YP-70" from Amazon and am very pleased, but after two weeks of use, suddenly stopped working the WiFi and BT, I have dealt with several networks and definitely nothing. Update to 2.3.6, then downgrade to 2.2.2, rooting, unrooting, I'm thinking it's a hardware problem, someone has had a similar fault? I can not return it for warranty because the shipping (Venezuela) would cost more than a new one. I would appreciate any suggestions.
:crying:
try flush Dalvik cache and cache partition
if dont help, get logcat, try to turn on wifi and bt and show us those logs

Look like messed up configuration or messed up kernel.
Try install right 2.3.5 or 2.3.6 and try to flash a right kernel.
I had got similar problem after flash cm7 kernel on stock 2.3.6

Just did a backup and installed the Kernel and still without WiFi or BT
I really think it's a hardware issue.
Taked from terminal; maybe it can help:

try going to CWM doing all 3wipes there, wipe data, factory reset, clear dalvik cache then reboot.
if this doesn't help, you most probably have a h/w problem

I'm compiling a kernel for the I9100G. I've downloaded the latest source from Samsung and added some drivers that were missing from the package. After a few tries, I managed to get my phone to boot. Everything seems to be working except for Wifi.
The symptom: Every time I turn on the Wifi it seems to scan for a few seconds, but then turns itself off. Here's a snippet of the logcat covering the time I try to turn on the wifi:

From what I can gather, it seems the wifi driver managed to load itself up, however, it failed to connect to the supplicant service and then was turned off. Can someone please tell me what is happening and how I can fix it? Thanks in advance.
Never mind, I solved the problem. Turned out my init.rc was missing a couple of lines.
Any chance of getting a copy of your kernel?
Was wondering if you could jack up the charge rate in the kernel to around 2A. As I understand the charge rate for GS2s are limited by the kernel to 660ma regardless of the type of AC charger used. It's even worse when you plug it into a computer USB port. By jacking up to 2A we can take advantage of the faster chargers available on the market. For example the iPad charger puts out 5.1v, 2.1Amps. This would greatly reduce the time needed to charge the battery.
Hi..
Sorry about double post. I got some problems with Wireless on my Galaxy S2. Problem is, i cant turn it on. After i try to turn it on phone gets laggy. Sometimes it turns on, does the scan (doesn't show AP) and turns off. sometimes after some time it shows up "Error" under Wireless state. Problem appeared before phone where rooted. Never been droped or something like that. Before rooting by entering *#*#232338#*#* i where unable to see MAC Adress, after rooting can see MAC Address. But wireless doesnt work (Wireless/Wireless tether). Any ideas how to solve it? Have seen ppls on forum have same problem. Solution to reinstall radio drivers. Anyone can guide me how to do it? Baseband I9100XXKI1, Kernel 2.6.35.7-I9100XXKI4-CL575468 [email protected] #2, Build number GINGERBREAD.XWKI4
Have tried wipe cache, did factory reset.
Thanks for any advice.
Have Google something, but don't know how to use that info i fount. Here is the trick should fix it, but no explanation about how to do it.
Problem is related to wpa_supplicant crash issue..
That post is just stating that you need those .so files from a stock firmware pushed into your system/etc/ folder.

How does this fix wifi?
Wifi not work!
Hi all! I am a brazilian, sorry for my poor english. I have a GT-I9100 and used the 4.0.3 ICS ZTO official (LP7 kernel, LPF modem and LP4 CSC) until last week. The wifi started having problems (icon in the notification bar grayed out), not allowing the activation of wifi, even by settings menu. There are several similar cases on the Internet, including citing defective hardware (internal battery next to the wifi chip), which is not my case (i already checked internally). Always used CF-ROOT kernels compatible to root the phone. So as the wifi stopped working, i decided to test the Omega ROM V20 (JB 4.1.2). The phone is working better than my old version of Android, except that wifi still does not work. Because of this, i decided to install the version that came from the factory on my phone (2.3.3 GB ZTO, KE4 kernel, KE2 modem and CSC). And to my surprise, the wifi was fully functional!!! So i went back to Omega ROM V20 and wifi no longer worked anymore. In all exchanges rom, all wipes are made. Then i installed Catlog to see if i could find some clue about this defect, and the log related to wifi was this:
02-19 22:16:06.065 E/WifiHW (2421): ==========[WIFI] Station firmware load ===========
02-19 22:16:06.130 E/WifiHW (2421): ##################### set firmware type 0 #####################

02-19 22:16:08.475 E/WifiStateMachine(2421): DriverFailedState
These lines are always repeating itself in the log since the wifi button on the notification bar is greyed out. Apparently it's a problem with the wifi drivers. In my phone the 2.3.3 is only that the wifi works, however, is pretty old now and do not offer the features that a JB version can offer. I ask the masters of this wonderful forum: is there any way to import the wifi drivers from my original version 2.3.3 to 4.1.2 Omega ROM i'm using now?
Best regards from Brazil to everyone!
Flash LSJ and tell us how it went.

Conclusion: my wifi chip is DEAD!
Hello and thank you for the tip. But unfortunately i came to the conclusion that i have a hardware problem. First, i installed the leaked version (with no mods) for United Kingdom 4.1.2 (LSJ kernel, LS1 CSC and LS6 modem). With this version, the wifi is not greyed out, however not active (immediately the slide button back to position "0"). So i went back to version 2.3.3 where the wifi worked perfectly. Now the wifi activate, but not find any network and in a few seconds, turns off automatically. We made all wipes in exchange ROM. My GT-I9100 has a little more than 2 years old an now my wifi chip is DEAD! At least the bluetooth still works! The deal is now expected to launch the Galaxy S4 to spend some money, because S3 is outdated. In Brazil, not worth sending fix this phone, even out of warranty (it can cost up to half the price of a new). I am very grateful for your interest in helping me!
Thank you very much!!!
You still got one bullet left, nuke script.

Ok, i'll try, but without much hope ...
Thanks once again!
See it this way, you got nothing to lose and wifi to win

I rooted my phone earlier today no problem. When i used a wifi password recovery and backup to restore my wifi it has caused my wifi to not work. The wifi will look like it's searching for a network ,but wont show any networks. I've done a factory reset and used my backup I made before rooting to try and fix this. Nothing has worked. Should I redo the root and see if that fix's it? Thanks

Does your phone detect any wireless networks?
You could try logcat to see what happens.

It's not detecting any networks. I will use logcat and see if that shows the error. Thanks for the reply. I don't think i messed up anything permanent.

nobody can actually help you if you dont inform about your L9 variant and which rom you have flashed or restored. Directly flashed a KDZ file or was that a CWM backup of someone else.
Please always be descriptive and dont make people assume many things for you. Otherwise you will always get solutions in wrong direction.
I'm a newbie to forums

My L9 variant is the LGP769V10G. I used LGP769_AP[6].bin and FACTORY KDZ OF V10G USA Tmobile to root and flash. Worked great and was really easy. Then after the wifi password restore wifi went crazy. Sorry about not being descriptive. I'm new to forums. I didn't mean to post this in general as well. I was posting from my phone. I've got everything with CWM downloaded and I can boot into recovery mode ,but there is no CWM backup folder on my external SD to put the recovery folder in.
Got wifi to turn on ,but wont obtain IP

I've flashed with CWM back up that matched my L9 and the wifi will turn off and on ,but wont obtain an IP. Now when I install rooted applications my superuser wont grant access to some files. I'm starting to get really discouraged.

Just live and learn I guess. Do cwm backup right after you install recovery. Sure, using someone elses backup might be fine but you really don't know what you're getting.

Did my flash over again with the Root files and my wifi is back up and running. Thanks for everyone that commented on this thread with ideas. If anybody ever runs into this problem again I will be able to guide them.

I agree. The backup worked though. I've learned a lot from the past 2 days. I had some knowledge of rooting. I'm not saying I'm nowhere near an expert ,but I used your root guide and it was very beneficial. Just wanted to say thanks.
Okay, so I've had this problem for a while now and for a while, I just used 3G, but then moved to using a different phone. But now I'm fed up of using my other phone, as it's no where near as good as the DNA, I'm looking to see if I can fix the problem.
Anyway, the problem is that I can't turn WiFi on. I flick the switch and it gets stuck at "Turning on Wi-Fi...".
(It's definitely a problem device side because I can't even see a list of networks or anything)
I'm currently unlocked, S-OFF. I've tried flashing different ROMs/kernels and even flashed back to complete stock. I've tried WiFi Fixer and WFix Manager with no luck.
I also opened the thing up to see if the cable was loose, but seems to be okay - could it be a board issue or something? If it even is a hardware issue?
Anyway, I thought a logcat may turn up some useful information, but I don't really know what I'm doing when it comes to understanding logcats. So perhaps there is someone that can make more of it:

Is there anything in there that would suggest it's a hardware issue, or a software issue?
If you think you need more information from me to help solve, just ask! And any help would be greatly appreciated!
What's your current radio/baseband version?
Have you updated the radio and/or firmware so that they match the software version you are trying to run?
If you have updated, are you just updating the radio or the firmware too?
Thanks for the quick reply,
My current radio is: 1.01.01.1112
I'm running: ~NuSenseONE~ Max Dlx RC1.8
They should work together, right?
But I still have the problem when I'm running stock Sense 4 and stock radio with or without unlock/s-off/etc.
I've been messing around all day, flashing different ROMs, kernels, radios, recoveries... Just everything I can think of.
I've attached the output of dmesg from boot. With that and the logcat, is it possible to determine if this is a software issue, or a hardware issue. Because if it's a hardware issue, I can stop fussing over this thing.
Why don't you post this in the rom thread?

According to his posts, it happens on any rom, so it's not rom specific.
Sounds like hardware failure.
Out of interest, which part of the hardware is responsible for the WiFi?
Would it be possible to replace this myself?
If not, it's not the end of the world. I'm just interested to know.

Try putting the device back to stock config. At that point it may take several factory resets to trip the wi fi
Did you ever find a fix? I have the same problem, with the same stack trace.
Hello, here is my problem,
I have always ported the miui rom to my thl w200 device.
in the latest builds, after porting it to my phone I get stuck at bootlogo.
I did a logcat but cant really find what causes this.
someone can look at it and help me?
