Is it compatible with the atrix 4g? I am running paranoid android 1.6 (like cm9). I have read about some one who it worked for them and one who didn't.
I've read that 64GB cards will work, but you have to format it in the phone after you install it in order to make it work. (The cards are preformatted with exFAT, which the Atrix does not recognize or support.)

Thanks But how do i format it?
the 64gb sandisk works great in my atrix (59.36GB usable) and MJPollard is spot on that you will need to switch it to fat32.

For important thing you should have a backup
Was working, has gotten glitchy
I have a 64Gb Sandisk sdxc that I've been using for about eleven months. Sent the phone back to Moto for some repairs, and it came back with the exact same software load (all current) that it went in with, as best I can see.
But the card was recognized without any problems before. Now, the phone keeps complaining that the sdxc card is FULL even though there are almost 5GB free on it. There were maybe 10GB free before it went in, I loaded more onto it this time.
So something is not quite right, perhaps the Atrix can't quite count to 64GB.
And of course my computer, which has an SDHC card slot, does not recognize SDXC cards above 32GB. I'll be getting a USB adapter to deal with that.
Very odd how the Atrix keeps complaining, yet recognizes everything on the card.

I connected my HD2 to my laptop using activesync, then when I opened explorer on the PC to go to the /StorageCard directory, found that it wasn't there. So, I tried exploring to the directory in the HD2, but found that it couldn't see the card. I've shutdown the phone, taken out the MicroSD card, and hooked the MicroSD card up directly to my laptop, and it appears just fine, and I can copy/write to the card without issues. I've tried cleaning the contacts, and putting it back in the phone, but the HD2 still doesn't see the card.
Anyone else have this happen to them before? Any hints on what else I can try?
BTW, it's a Kingston 16GB MicroSD card, and it's been working reliably without any issue until today.
Right.. I tried putting in a newly formatted 2GB MicroSD card, and the HD2 was able to see it without problem. So I'm now backing up stuff from my 16GB Kingston MicroSD, and will probably re-format it to see if that will help.. Just a big hassle having to backup/copy back almost 15GB of stuff from the card..
During the backup process, there were a few files on the MicroSD that couldn't be read, so, could it be that the card is going bad?
OK. Finally finished backing up the MicroSD card, and reformatted it. After reformatting, the HD2 now SEEs the newly formatted card, I only have to copy stuff back onto the card, then I'm done..
I'll probably end up going out to buy a new card tomorrow as it's pretty obvious from today's "adventure" that this card is probably on its way out. Oh well, now that I have the data backed up, it should be relatively painless.

I lost my 8GB Card few days back. Lost all the data... Atleast your card was readable on PC. Anyways good that you got your data back..

i have had to reformat my card once because I accidently removed my phone from the PC without using "safely remove hardare" (aka right click and select eject) feature. formatted the card and restored from backup and all is well again.
Done! Copied files from backup to 16GB MicroSD, and the HD2 sees it.
There were altogether 4 unreadable/corrupted files from the MicroSD card when backing it up, but fortunately, none of these files were irreplaceable, luckily, as all these were MP3 songs, which I also have other copies on my laptop.
Tomorrow, I will take a look to see how much the new Sandisk 32GB MicroSD card is selling for here in Hong Kong. If it's not TOO expensive, I may end up buying one to replace the 16GB Kingston I'm using now. I remember reading somewhere that the HD2 is supposed to be compatible with up to 32GB, but has anyone actually tried the new Sandisk 32GB card in an HD2?
I've had a similar issue with my 16 GB Sandisk card. Strangely, my old TyTn II could read it absolutely fine - but my HD2 couldn't :/
Only way i found to fix it was to format it, then copy all the stuff back.
It's happened twice now and it's pretty annoying!

I've been using a 32Gb Sandisk since June this year, with no problems. I've got about 27Gb on the card.

Same here... No probems to date with a Sandisk 32GB Class 2 MicroSDHC card.
Best to all,

I bought a new 16GB Class 10 micro-SDHC card and put it in my phone. Every time I lock my phone and unlock it, I get a notification message that the "SD Card was unexpectedly removed" and then it says "Preparing SD Card...". The card appears readable after that. I tried reformatting the card on the phone but it hasn't fixed the issue. Is anyone else seeing this? Suggestions to fix it are much appreciated!
Not sure if this will help but it can't hurt. I'd try formatting the card with SDFormatter which I'll link below. It could be that it needs to be formatted properly. Sounds like it's more a hardware issue though from what you're saying but again, doesn't hurt to try.
SDFormatter - https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/
What brand card is it. Some companies have big time inconsistencies throughout. It might be a bad card.

It is the AmazonBasics 16 GB microSDHC Class 10 Flash Memory Card.
I tried putting the card into a friend's AT&T Galaxy S2 and he gets the same error. Then I had another friend who has a Sprint Galaxy S2 try it and this time no error messages. Strange that this card has issues only on the AT&T version...
I will try the formatting using the sdcard.org tool later today.
I have the same card and I have no issues.

Cheap class10 cards are notorious for flakiness and compatibility issues...
I returned the card and bought a new 32GB PNY Class 10 card and that works just fine. Thanks for all the ideas!
Using this same card with no issues.
Can you use a 64gb sim card on the Nook Tablet? I know it seems excessive, but I would really love to do this. My NT is not rooted. Thanks.

My understanding is that 32gb is the upper limit that this device will support. That said, this guide -- for the SGSII -- may work on the NT.
Doesn't seem to work..
SIM cards definately wont work... but up to 32 gb sdhc cards will. I had a friend try a 64 gb sd card and it did not work. Hopefully in the near future a new rom might change this.
actually 64 GB cards work

Is anyone else having the issue where the SD Card randomly unmounts itself and then remounts? I have already wiped and reformatted the card with the Note2 but the issue is still present. any solutions or answers?
I have the Tmobile version, but I have the same issue. I even did a full format of the card on my pc, but it made no difference. The card sort of works, but sometimes instead of the 'preparing sd card' I get the 'blank or unrecognized file system', and then I have to wait for the phone to go to sleep. It will usually wake up and recognize the card then, but all links to files on the card are broken. FYI, my card is a SanDisk 32GB Class 4. I tried an older 8GB card and did not have the issue, but then again, my 32GB card worked for a month with no issues. Very perplexed.

I have a Sandisk Ultra 32GB card. I only have music on it which I've only tested out a couple times, but never had this issue pop up at any point. Perhaps it is the format of the card? I do not remember reformatting mine before putting stuff on it. If you can, try testing another card or putting yours in another device to see if it's the card itself.
I had a 32GB Class 6 Sandisk Ultra, which was also used and worked perfectly in my GS3.
I went to my verizon store had my phone replaced.. threw the SD card back in, and it still had the issue. Put a normal 16 GB SD card in it, haven't had the issue yet. So I guess somewhere in the process of switching between my GS3 and the Note2 the card somehow got corrupted or broke??
Looks like I'll be buying a 64GB class 10 card soon lol

Me too. Class ten and no problems.

I've been getting a lot of errors with my sd card lately, mainly the phone saying is been removed or that it has corrupted data. Anyone else getting these issues?
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
I was getting those errors occasionally, then the phone got hot and the SD card fried and stopped working. That was the standard 32 GB Sandisk card. I've been through 3 of the standard SD cards on different phones with the same ending result. I'm now using the 32GB ultra card in both my S3 & S4 without any issues at all. It's worth spending the extra $10 per card.

Sandisk micro-SD cards 64Gb has compatibility problems exactly with Samsung Galaxy S4. I had to buy Transcend one. Now it works properly.
A lot of Sandisk 32 and 64Gb cards have issues with both S3's and S4's.
Apparently those manufactured after 12/2012 no longer have this issue, but theres no way to tell their manufacture date.
I use and recommend Samsung cards, and have never had any problems with them.
Yes, they cost a little more, but the stuff I keep on them is irreplaceable, and I couldnt afford to lose 1 days work.
Also I recommend installing SD card monitor from Play.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sdcardmonitor
It will tell you how many times your card has unmounted erroneously.
Cheers.
