[Q] Restoring nandroid backup

Hi,
I made a nandroid back up before flashing entropy's kernel, and I have not made a backup after flashing the kernel. Is it possible to perform a nandroid restore even with a different kernel?
Thanks in advance for the help

Yes, but then you will not have entropy's kernel anymore.

I actually often use this method to easily go back to a kernel if I'm not satisfied with the new one.
I did it and it works perfectly!!
Thanks!!!

you can try the nandroid backups from this

or this

Taking advantage of this thread I would like to request a nandroid of latest official build, untouched, I guess it's 6.12.173 . A system nandroid (yaffs2) or system dump would be nice. Thanks!.

kernel change?
Would installing the 2.3.6 backup also change the kernel to 2.3.6? I am wondering because I would like the 2.3.6 kernel so I can have bluetooth on ICS. I have tried flashing a 2.3.6 ROM, but haven't had success.
No i wish :/.

Yup you can.. But while downgrading make sure you've flashed Gb kernel otherwise you'll receive bootloop... Restoring backup doesn't restore the kernel.

Nandroid backup restore fail....

Hello xda ! I'm not able to restore by backup.... In cwm it says fail/error in flashing boot.img Please help...
You need more details on what happened.
For example, I have no idea if you were talking about an android fridge or a tablet.

I guess you need to have the same CWM version to be able to take backup/restore. Like, if you took Nandroid in CWM v4 and restored in CWM v5 there may happen a mismatch or MD5 checksum error. Anyways its just my thoughts, and I'm not sure about the same. Better ask in the device-specific forum ie, Galaxy SL i9003 and you'll get more feedbacks about the issue.

[Q] [U] How to backup my Rooted Kernel?

As my XU has been rooted and unlocked, I would like to give CM9 a try
But I guess I have to flash a new kernel during the process and I think it is better for me to backup my kernel.
I know that CWM could backup my stock ROM but is it including my kernel?
I just don't want to restore my phone using US method and root my phone again
No need to backup ur kernel
U can get it from a ftf file
