Dumb question: Did you check the charging option to disk drive and not just charge?
Did you flash the whole leak that updated the firmware or just a rooted version of the rom?

Well, we're going to need a little bit of information if you want help.
1. How about going to your hboot screen and telling us what you have there.
Locked or unlocked?
S-on or off?
Hboot #
Radios #
2. Do you have a custom recovery installed?
3. Where did you get the leak from? OR what was the complete file name of it?
That should get us started.
I think you forgot to flash it twice

Interesting...lets try a known good (to me) file go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1757357 and scroll down to the 3rd post where it mentions "Latest RUU Leak and Installation Instructions"
hopefully you can put the file on the SD card! Follow directions, skipping step 4, boot into bootloader through your ROM or by pulling/replace the battery and hold down volume and press power. The bootloader will scan and find the ph98img.zip file. Update...it will take a while. Really no need to flash twice if each item says "ok".
Hopefully this will get you back in action.
The hboot/radios you gave me ARE from the latest leak, BTW.
Certain ROMS I have had a problem with storage not mounting. Did a reset in hboot and everything is fine now. Well except that I forgot to back up internal sd and wiped it all. Oops.

Sorry in advance if this had been covered before but there are so many different threads everywhere i don't know where to start. As of right now i'm running 1.50 s-on and have been attempting to use the HTC method to unlock the bootloader. I have no problems or errors at all til i get to i think it's step 13 or 14
sending 'unlocktoken' (0 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.152s]
writing 'unlocktoken'...
(bootloader) unlock token check successfully
OKAY [ 0.006s]
finished. total time: 0.159s
it appears that everything goes through but then nothing happens? my phone just stays in the same hboot screen. What am i doing wrong? thanks in advance and sorry again if this has been covered but i'm somewhat noob to rooting and am still trying to figure all of this out.....
If your cdma you need to run the latest ruu 2.17 ruu exe . Once done then apply the unlock code your set.

You can download the ruu in the sticky on how to get back to stock. I had this same problem and that's how I got it fixed.

ok one last question? I'm at the shipped roms.com site and there are is a .zip and a .exe of the RUU. Which one should i DL? if it's the zip do i extract it to the rootevonew folder on my C: drive? And just so i'm clear i go into fastboot and while in fastboot i run the .exe on my comp? or do i put it in the root of my sd card? Sorry again for all the questions.....
Put your phone on fasboot usb .
Run RUU.EXE
And your set. It will take about 10 min to complete.
Realize that if you remove your USB while its updating your phone might end up bricked so be careful to not get it unplugged.

Right on thanks guys i finally got around to doing all this and it worked. One last question....Any advice on a particular ROM to flash? I was looking at the Nocturnal Adrenaline E3D 1.0.2 ODEX?? what do you guys think? Thanks again for all the help...
I'm currently running MeanRom 3.92. It's really good. Lots of features & easily over clockable on included ziggy kernel or Anthrax Rls8 Final. Also includes other options that get loaded onto sdcard for flashing.
I flashed leedroid Tweaks, & anthrax, clocked to 1.728Ghz. Stable, fast, quadrant average about 4k.
All up to your preference really, but some consider it a good idea to stick with 2.17 based roms if that's the radio base you have.

it works the same as any other recovery, but when you choose the zip to install, a menu will pop up asking you what to do prior to the flash, that is where you do all your wiping...enjoy
After some headache, I installed Scotts ROM
[ROM / LEAK] 5/8 - Stock Rooted RUU 3.14.605.5 / Truly De-Odexed! / Root works
I read somewhere that the RUU had to be flashed twice and as the newb I am... I flashed it once.
My HBOOT is 2.11.0000
No idea what my radio is... It doesnt list it on the front of the bootloader menu.
Do I need to reflash? Should I rewipe?
I had 2 random reboots already.
I'm S-ON as well.

No that is not the case. Here is the latest leaked RUU
Rename it to PH98IMG.zip and put it on your the root of your SD card. Make sure you don't rename it to PH98IMG.zip.zip. Windows hides the .zip extension.
Your bootloader needs to locked in fastboot.
Code:
fastboot oem lock
(Do this before you place the PH98IMG.zip on your sd card.)
reboot into hboot, it find the image and then update the bootloader. It will take a long long time.
Then boot back into hboot for it to make another pass, this will update the system to ICS.
Unlock the bootloader again
Install Amon Ra recovery.
Install Scotts rooted stock rom that you have on the phone currently.
Done.
Warning, running the RUU will ERASE your internal SD card, so if you have pictures, video, music you want to keep, move it to your PC before you run the RUU.

What advantage do I really have going to ICS firmware, is that for the new radios?

I find that I get better signal, but that may be subjective. My battery temperature is noticable lower though.
If you are going to update the firmware, you mifht as well S-Off. Use the GB S-Off, then flash this:

Copy ROM to SD Card AND PH98IMG.zip to ROOT of SD Card
Reboot to recovery
wipe data / Factory Reset
Flash ROM
Use Developer Menu to reboot to bootloader and flash the boot.img file in the PH98IMG.zip
Reboot
Profit!
How do I get to the developer Menu with that ZIP file on the SD card, won't it just try to update and give me no way out of that process?

You have to use a card reader in a computer. If these are not available to you, you might try the local library.
You should be able to go into recovery. Just reflash like Mike said and you should be good to go.

I am s-on and trying to flash Tron. I am currently on Rage 1.8.
I don't mind flashing the boot.img through hboot at all. However, I can not get the image to flash to the phone. I had this problem before when flashing Rage. The phone just decided to take the boot image so I don't know what I did differently to get it to work.
I used Scott's CleanFlash and that wouldn't work. I try command prompt that wouldn't work.
Any ideas what is keeping the boot image from flashing? Thank you in advance.

You should be able to flash a boot.img by booting your phone to bootloader.
Then on your pc, navigate so that the command prompt is where you have your adb stuff set up. Have the boot.img file in there too, and then type the following in the command window:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Should flash.

However, I don't have a ph98img.zip on hand (at least I can't find one). Can I just take the boot.img and zip it with winrar and name it ph98img.zip, put it on my SD card and it work?

Look around on the forums for one. What you said won't work

It sounds like you're on hboot 2.27 .... If that is the case you can't remotely push anymore for the boot partition. You will have to find a flashable ph98img.zip and do it that way.

I used to push the boot.img with Hboot 2.27 before I S-Off'd.

Are you on the global firmware releases? Somewhere there is a thread by con247 that tells you how to make your own ph98img.zip But ideally you want to get fastboot flash working again

I am not on the global release. Thanks, I will search for that thread. Is there a difference in the ph98img.zip for sense and aosp? I imagine there would be. I wish knew what was causing fastboot to not work right.

Yeah, I double checked that. I few times actually. I am gonna try to change USB ports to see that works. It fixed this issue for someone else.
This may sound dumb, what is the difference in the firmware and radios? I mean, I am sure there is a big difference, but what, other than the radios, are included in the firmware? I have the .310r and .308r radios.

So changing USB ports didn't work. I only had about fifteen minutes this morning to work on it.

I am s-on. I download the ROM. Extract the boot.IMG to my desktop. Reboot my phone into boot loader. Connect USB. Open hansoons tool kit. Click flash kernel. Select the boot.IMG on my desktop. Flashes that in a few seconds....disconnect. Reboot. Enjoy. I've done this with MHF and Tron

Failed remote not allowed is usually because you have a locked hboot, sounds like you updated firmware and hboot but didn't unlock the new hboot.
You might as well drop the global RUU on your external sdcard and boot to hboot and flash it, then unlock and flash recovery.
Yes it makes a huge difference. In an s on device you update the RUU which is the rom, kernel, bootloader and recovery and radio and modem firmware ans drivers. It also changes some things like mount points.

Is this the global RUU?

Just wanting to double check before going through all of it. Also, if my hboot IS locked, I should be able to just run it and not have to "fastboot OEM lock" will I?
Also, I saw where it said you will lose data. Is that internal or both?
Sent from my Rezound using xda app-developers app
That's the correct link.
You're right if your hboot is locked you shouldn't have to fastboot OEM lock. You should just be able to place it on your ext_sdcard and then boot the phone to hboot and it will ask you to run update.
Only the internal storage should be wiped, ext sdcard shouldn't but I always recommend copying both internal and external storage to a folder on the computer just in case. Also make sure your contacts are synced, and anything else backed up from the system itself.

I imagine doing a nandroid backup internal and external on a spare sdcard would work. Hopefully I will be able to get it all working tonight.
After I run the RUU, I will have to use my unlock token-> flash amon ra-> then flash ROM. Correct? Sorry for all the questions. I don't have internet at my house so I want to make sure I am prepared.
im trying to flash the new radio so i can flash the new ics rom but when ever i turn on the phone and go into bootloader its saying theres no image.

It shouldn't matter. This isn't always the case, but I have experienced it before.
Just rename it to PG05IMG and then try flashing in hboot.

i double checked and everything but it's still not flashing. i get PG05DIG.zip no image when i start up hboot.

PG05DIG.zip? Or PG05IMG.zip?
Rename it to PG05IMG and take .zip off.
Then go into hboot and see if it finds the update.
Having to take off .zip has been the case for me before... but only once.

Put your sd card in your pc or mount it, which ever is your favorite way to see/load files from your pc. Open the drive and find the folder options. Click view, and check "show common file types" or something to at effect.
I have found doing this as a general setting on your pc to be very helpful. Your pc will still show you the file as a zip even if it is name.zip.zip. Hope this helps!

I'm having a similar issue as well; Hboot will search, find PG05IMG.zip, the progress bar runs through at the top right, but then it just drops back to the hboot menu. I'm currently sitting at Unlocked but S-ON, with root in the Liquid 4.0.4 rom, trying to get back to the stock. Any suggestions?
Hboot: 1.05
S-On
Unlocked bootloader
ROM: Liquid 4.0.4 Compilation
End goal: Flashing the rooted OTA release of ICS
I've been following the "How to Return to Stock" thread in the Thunderbolt Dev forum.
You can't do it because you're s on.

Depends on the unlock method you used. You'll probably need to re lock if you used htc dev and then use the allinone tool.

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. I believe it was the HTC Dev Unlock tool; how would I go about relocking?
Edit: For anyone stumbling upon this, I relocked the device from fastboot using "fastboot oem lock", then when the device rebooted to the bootloader ran the executable from the link below. Problem solved, I'm back at stock gingerbread.
