Help needed. Problem restoring Wifi Password - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774081
as mentioned here, titanium backup wont work if trying to restore on aosp&aokp roms.
maybe the storage for wifi access point is not the same.
the usually solution i found is:
Google DOES that for you, just tick "back up my data" under backup&reset settings.
but strangely that doesnt work.
now i am dual booting with sensation rom, and resurrection rom.
on sensation rom it has ALL my wifi keys. i tick back up my data.
let it sync.
then boot into resurrection rom, did a factory reset, start login using my google account.
but after that, my wifi list remains empty.
why is this happening?
so i get it that google backup my data, but how to make it restore?

I believe you need to let it Sync as well to restore the Data from your google account on to a new phone.

sigh, the fix that i told you just now,
the app called "wifi backup"
although it manage to backup my wifi keys,
and worked upon restoring using the app.
but after every restore, my wifi stopped working.
i cant turn it on. it will be stuck at turning on....and then turn off.
i will need to restore my wifi keys again using the app then only my wifi will work.
this is too trouble some.
i cwm restore back before i installed and used the app and everything working fine.

same problem as this guy, google backup doesnt work in my case.
sigh...still stuck and unable to get my wifi keys from previous samsung rom....

[Q] Apps won't download from Play Store website

A few days ago I flashed a vanilla 4.2.2 ROM to my Nexus 4 and restored the Titanium backup to it.
Today I realized that when I get apps from the Play Store website, they never get downloaded to the device. Downloading via Play Store app works fine. I followed these suggestions but nothing helped:
support.google.com/googleplay/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1067233
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Have you tried re-linking your phone to your Google account?
First you will have to add a different account to delete (and later re-add) the old one
Go to Settings<Accounts<Add Account.
After you did that delete the old one that you are having trouble with.
Reboot is recommended.
Then go to the play store from your computer and make sure you login to your new account synced with your phone. Now try downloading a app from here. If it works then go ahead and add your old account back in and delete the new one.
Easy.
Hope it works!

Thanks for the tip but it didn't help. The apps download automatically when I use my second account but when I went back to the primary one nothing happens.
Problem solved!
The ID of my phone changed after flashing the fresh ROM and apps purchased through the website were being pushed to the old ID.
If similar thing happens to anyone: go to Play Store and scroll to the bottom, click My Orders & Settings and go to Settings tab. Make your current device visible and uncheck the previous ID.
Well I think it might be a problem with your new ROM.
Have you resign in to the Google account ?
apps wont update

Can't establish a reliable data connection

Recently, the Google Play store stopped working for me. It kept saying "No Connection" and the Retry button didn't do anything.
I looked up a few solutions, and none of them worked. Finally, I gave up and reset my device to factory settings.
Now, when I try to set up my account, it sits for a minute and then says "Cant establish a reliable data connection to the server".
What should I do?

By the Android Version I think you probably dont have a custom rom. Now since you don't, the easiest way without spending hours on the internet researching is to call your phone provider's technical service and they'll help you. This is a direct and easier method rather then searching online.

Sorry about that. Well if you didn't root it, you should have your warranty and Samsung would definitely help you.
I wouldn't recommend taking any device back unless you have exerted all the possibilities of a fix. People's time is precise in my opinion.
What you can do is try factory resetting your device, it might of been a issue relating to updating the Google Play (Market) application.
Hope this helps.

To clear the data, you find the application (Market) in the applications section of Settings, and then press the button that says "clear data".
I did that, and nothing changed.

Yes, my device was rooted before I reset, and it still is. I have been able to get most of my apps back by using Aptoide (alternative to Market, doesn't require google account).

Well since you have a Google account, try this. Log into your Google account on the computer. Go to the play store. Go to my apps. And download it from there. I highly doubt this will work because you don't have a connection but its worth a quick shot. Also since you do have root, did you backup your apps via titanium or any other app? You could get all your apps and data back that way.

I tried downloading from my PC, but it didn't work because the account wasn't synced. I was able to get pretty much everything back by using the Aptoide store and downloading the .apk files manually. I don't need an account on the device to use it anymore, so everything's fine.
I came out with a solution for you, but you will need to take a couple of steps to get it completely working.
First thing you need to do, is download a Play Store APK file, and save it onto your device. (Click here to download)
Next step, since you're rooted is finding a Root File Explorer to remove the Play Store file you have installed on your device. ( Try This *Note, haven't tested myself*!! ) )
When it's removed, feel free to install the play store apk from the first step to your device.
Hope this helps, is so, feel free to like.

Can't Sign into Google account, and 'no connection' in play store!

I don't know what to do. At first my play store said no connection, so I signed out of my google account. After that, when I press the play store button it asks me to sign in, but when I do, it says "can't establish a reliable connection to the server."
My internet is fine, how do I fix this? I am lost.
Rooted? If so, have you tried to clean cache and reboot? That helped me once. If your not rooted try clearing app data thru settings. Then reboot.

I just tried turning airplane mode on them off again. And I tried connecting on both my home wifi and on 4g. No luck though.
I was looking around online and one site said that it could have to do with the time on my phone. When I look though the time is correct

Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
I downloaded the Google play app again last night, but that didn't work. Should I do the same with all the Google apps, but un install them before downloading them again?
And I think Google play music still works for some reason. YouTube, Gmail and Google play are the ones that I'm having an issue with.
Edit:my play music still has all of my accounts stations
You might try removing your google account and re-adding it.
I am signed out of my account. When I go into settings and look at accounts, I am not signed into a Google account, and if I try to sign in I get the same screen I posted on the last page. I don't get how my play music is still signed in
Don't sign out, remove the account totally from settings.
I think it is completely removed. It prompts me to either add an existing account or a new one.
I made a video to show my problem. In the first part, I show clearing app data in the settings. Then I show what happens when I try to sign into google play or gmail. After that shows that youtube and chrome are signed in, and the same goes for google play music.
Afterwards I show how there is no google account signed in in the settings.

O well.. you got me. The only thing I would try next would be a factory reset.
How do I use titanium backup to restore my apps if I lose my root when I do a factory reset
I don't think you will loose root just by doing a factory reset. But, to make sure you can install a root keeper app like https://play.google.com/store/apps/...m9yZy5wcm9qZWN0dm9vZG9vLm90YXJvb3RrZWVwZXIiXQ.. to make sure.

No data or wifi connection

I'll try to keep this brief.
My wife and I both have stock standard HTC Aria's running Android 2.2. A few days ago my wife complained that her battery was discharging really fast. Then a day later mine started doing the same thing.Going flat in a few hours of standby. Normally at the end of the day they would both still have 8 out or ten bars still lit. I turned off wifi, mobile and bluetooth on both phones and that seemed to fix the battery problem.
Now when I turn on wifi or 3g I cant connect at all. My wifi router shows up in settings but it constantly is scanning-connecting-disconnecting. Also cant connect to 3g.
I have tried another sim card but the problem is the same.
As I said, these phone aren't rooted in any way. Have very few apps. Basically used as a phone.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Maybe you can try a new battery. Or, if you still have warranty, give it back to service.

You may have already tried this, but maybe a reboot would do the trick. If rebooting doesn't help, you can use a file manager to take a look into Data>Apps or System>Apps and see if you can find their .apk files there and delete them. If you aren't rooted, you won't be able to delete them, and I'm not sure what you should do if that happens. If they aren't there, then it's probably just a graphical glitch and is showing what really isn't there.
EDIT: Sorry, I read your post wrong. Go into the app details of Google Play Store and select both clear data and clear cache, and that should solve the problem. If not, try rebooting.

Oh my bad, I wasn't really clear about that. It's actually in your phone settings, not the settings in the Play Store.
So you open up Play Store in 'Manage Applications' as if you were trying to uninstall it. In that menu, you'll see options like Force Stop/Disable. Scroll down, and you'll see the 'Clear data' and 'Clear cache' options, and there ya go. I hope I explained it well.

The apps that I mentioned; Airdroid, Astro, google play etc are showing as being installed on the google play web site. These apps are no longer on my phone after I did the factory reset. Therefore I have no way to reinstall the apps as google play is telling me they are already installed.
Is there another way to do this? Can I dl the apk files from somewhere else and install them manually?

You don't have the Play Store installed on your phone? If that's the case, you need to search up on google to find the apk file for it. Once you do that, you should be able to install the other apps you've mentioned.
Sorry if I misunderstood you again. I'm getting pretty confused here also.

Update:
I managed to install airdroid and Astro through Android Market app (was that the precursor to play store?)
Now when I log in to google play it shows those two apps as installed. Everything else is showing in "other apps in my library" waiting to be installed. I think I'll leave it at that. My airdroid is working again :good:

It'll eventually update automatically on your phone and change back to the Play Store

[Q] Apps showing as purchased even though I didn't buy them

Ok so this is a pretty strange issue. On my Galaxy SIII, I just upgraded to 4.4. I have 3 Google accounts with paid apps, but am trying to consolidate that down to one, so I don't have to sign in to all of them to get my apps, and I often get 403 errors when updating. I know the apps don't transfer, and I will have to repurchase them with this primary account. I am fine with that. However, Google Play doesn't seem to like that idea.
I did a clean flash, and signed into only this primary account. However, the Play Store is somehow saying that the apps I've purchased with my other accounts are purchased with this primary account. But when I try to install them I get a stupid 403 error. Even stranger, I installed Titanium Backup, and it's magically saying I'm using the Pro version (I purchased the key with one of the other accounts, have not installed it).
When I look in my browser at the apps I purchased with accounts other than my primary, it says they are already installed, even though they are not. I've tried everything I know. Does anybody have a clue why this might be happening or a solution?
Titanium Backup has a feature called Market Doctor which scans for all your Play Store links, and you can use it to break them too. That'd be the first thing I would try, because it's easy and I'm lazy. lol
Thanks. I was able to install using TiBu, use the 'Detach from Market' option, and uninstall to get it working.
New, unrelated question. I'm trying to restore my SMS messages using TiBu, but it is continuously asking if I want to use TiBu instead of Hangouts as my SMS app. I have clicked No about 50 times so far but it keeps coming up. Any way around this?

Nope, you gotta do that on 4.4. Once it is done restoring it'll ask you if you want to switch back. This is normal behavior.
