I was just reading that copy and paste is a problem in some programs on android as i am new to android i don't know how true this is anyway it went on to say about this app that adds copy and paste across the whole android device so here is the link HERE

I was excited to have a copy paste app come through, but it did not work for me. Almost every time I tried to launch it from the status bar it said it had to close. Then I start it again and try to copy something it would turn everything upside down. If I did hit copy it said can not recognize text window. Too bad too, because I really could have used a working app....even for $3.99.

Ive been able to copy/paste urls by pressing on the text but thats about it
Press & hold method doesn't work?
Even on my rooted phone, cut & paste support seems to be spotty at best. That, and I can't aim worth crap on the 4" screen.
I mean from the built-in stock keyboard when entering text in a text box, there are no options to copy/paste. I know this was missing on the Nook Color, but I figured B&N would have gotten their act together to add that functionality.
To me, this is a bit of a biggie. Not worth returning the tablet, but certainly a major annoyance. I wonder if a keyboard swap will fix it.
Maybe it's keyboard?
Yea its abit annoying. Ive only been able to cut and past from within the opera browser.

I'm using Dolphin HD and the copy/paste isn't working. On a long press I get the Select Text but it won't actually select anything. Anyone gotten this to work? Works great in Firefox but I just don't like it as well for browsing.

so how do u get it to work if u are rooted which i am but it doesnt work for me even on opera...

I can confirm keyboard swap does not work I tried swype and used their shortcuts for copy paste and select all and it results in a force close. perhaps we can push a copy/paste app from AOSP gingerbread into system/app

Not sure. I don't have the Nook Tablet yet - I hope to get one after Christmas. I only suggested the press and hold (or "long press") as that is what I've sometimes used on my phone. I still find that support for the function varies by app. Unlike Windows where "Ctrl-C" will generally allow you to copy any text that can be selected, Android doesn't seem to have similar functionality. (Then again, my phone is sitting at Froyo so I have no idea if Gingerbread or Ice Cream Sandwich has better support across apps.)

I believe that BN has ripped something for the select/copy/paste actions. My NT FC every time when I try to use these kind of functions supported by 3rd party apps, like keyboards.
We need copy and paste
+1 on the copy and paste needed. I can copy from certain programs onto clipboard, but cannoy copy and paste words from the browsers I'm using (b&n + dolphin hd). Also, I can copy the url from Dolphin HD but it won't paste to facebook (not a big deal).
I can copy and paste from adobe pdf's into OfficePro docs, which is great, but would love to be able to do the same from the online readings instead of downloading the pdf version. I can also use Dolphin to save the page as a pdf and then copy and paste to certain programs, but this significantly slows down my productivity when researching and referencing multiple sources.
Got swype beta working and it has built in copy/cut/paste function:

I am interesting in getting this to work also. I use lastpass password manager, and I am incredibly cripple without copy/paste for passwords.

Thank you for the info. However, I cannot select text in the browser in order to copy and paste. I cannot bring up the keyboard to copy in a webpage, although I can copy and paste what I write in a text box like this. That is useful. However, trying to select all from the Swype keyboard does FC my browser (Dolphin HD).
I haven't been able to copy and paste. If you can, it's only in specific areas (like text input boxes) of specific apps.

Yes, you're right. I can't highlight text from articles. Anyone find a browser that can?
I imagine if the NT is ever getting copy & paste, its be thro an OTA. Id imagine that 99% of you have blocked OTA and the 1% that hasn't are going to be mad when they lose their root.
I have OTA blocked, my revision set to 9.9.9. If they have an upgrade including copy & paste, are we going to be out of luck?
ICS for the NT will probably include it, but until then, you're probably out of luck.

I believe I was able to do so within Opera mini browser...download it and check it out to confirm. Still doesn't help with aweful email app though! Hope this helps somewhat.
Yes, you can copy and paste with opera browser.
There are apps that have usable copy and paste... but I'm assuming you are talking about browsers.
I believe the OP is talking about cross-application copy and paste. We will have to wait for a custom ROM for that.

I have been able to use copy/paste between applications. Sometimes it seems to work automatically (i.e. with a long-press, specifically from Youversion to QuickOffice), and sometimes I have to use Swype-V (Lastpass).
swype-v as in the keyboard?
On the Swype keyboard, Swype from the Swype key to the letter V.

You mean the paste tab won't show up or when you press it it does nothing? Still working for me okay.

It shows up but when I press nothing happens. I think it may be cross application. Can you cut from say browser and paste into gmail?
When you long press on a word or something you dont get two blue triangles that can be adjusted to include whatever you want

Yes you should be able to, I just tested mine and it's working? Copied out of boat, went to compose email, long press and paste

i do and i can cut ok but can't paste...i realize i can't paste across apps...if i stay within the browser for example it's fine, but if I'm trying to paste something i cut in the browser it doesn't work
is that normal behavior

Its working cross application like the other user posted. Try a reboot. Might just be a glitch or bug that occurred. If its still happening, do you have any copy n paste apps like clip it or something installed?

just tried a reboot still doesn't work. you guys are rooted or no? i am don't know if that makes a difference and no, no copy paste apps

I know mine's fine... Hate to say it, but factory reset?
That's an odd issue there, can't say I've ever seen Android system files get corrupted, just people installing the wrong files...

Let us know if that fixes it or not. Being rooted or not has no bearing on whether copy n paste functions work or not.
It took me a while to get use to this.
But this is working for me.
CTRL+X and
CTRL+V
I'm doing this right now from the slightly buggy Chrome
Beta that is bugging out as I try to type this.
Just remember that you have to first select over a word with your cursor in a text box window by holding down on it for a second until the double blue arrow appears so you can adjust your selection. Then the cut, copy, or paste keyboard command should work.
Since i'm am a new user and cannot post in the dev post. I will post my question and hopefully somebody can help me out.
I'm having 2 issues.
1st Issue - Is anybody able to access their external SD card through ES File Explorer (I do not use any other file explorer app)? Its like the the external_sd folder to it is missing, doesn't show up at all. I know my sd card works fine because somehow i can save files to it from opera.
2nd Issue - Not able to get Google Voice to setup Voicemail. Stuck using carrier voicemail. When it tries to configure, it goes black for 5 seconds, then force closes "Unfortunately, the process com.andoird.phone has stopped"
Any help is appreciated,

To #1 its /mnt/emmc in es option set home directory to /mnt/ then if you want ext card click emmc if you want internal click sdcard..
#2 Not sure try searching google
#3 PS Hold vol down and power at the SAME TIME for 2 sec.

Thanks! I can access the SD card now! As for the screenshot thing, for some reason its not working. I'm thinking its the rom, i've tried holding it and the only thing that happens is power menu comes up and shuts down after 8 seconds.

Just vol down + power at the same time if it didn't take the screen shot in 2 sec you didn't hit it at the SAME TIME it took me a few to get it too try it again.....

ok so after 50 tries it still didn't work. after trial and error, turns OUT that for ultimatum. They switched it to HOME botton + power. home + power works. lol random

Looks like I found a work around for my 2nd issue. can't post direct link to where i got it, so i'll just post directions here
Go to Phone app
Hit the context menu
Hit Call Settings
Go to Call Forwarding
Tap "Voice Call"
On the "Forward when busy", "Forward when unanswered", and "Forward when unreachable", make sure your GV number is listed there.
A temp fix until google fixes the issue with google voice.

Hi I am in love with this rom as it delivers super performance from ATT S3. As for my concern, since I use arabic sometimes and get sms in arabic, all my previous arabic sms msgs are not showing properly (garbled). And also I want to install ics music player, how can I get that in this ROM.
