Once I Updated to ICS and some default settings changed to me.
It's easy to Import/Export Contacts on GB but on ICS, The Exporting only available.
Any Clues !?

Hi guys,
How can I remove those unwanted icons for apps that were installed on the SD card. It happened after I flashed my device with an official ROM without removing the SD card. But I formatted it later and those icons appeared.
I installed them from the market again but it's still there.
Please advise

Hold your thumb down on them and drag then to the delete bin/icon like you would with any normal app.
Cooza, no, the icons are in applications menu, not on the homescreen.

Just uninstall them as per usual (Menu - Edit - Minus arrow). I've seen this happen a few times when I remove a system apps using titanium backup.

A bunch of thanks, perfectly worked! I think this option wasn't available in v2.3.3 isn't it?

hello everyone,
I'm having some troubles with the gallery as shown in the attached image.
I can't find how to disable that.. it messes everything up every time I am on wifi on my work network.
All photo syncs are already off in my gmail account settings.
I don't want to have the office pc there (it doesn't work anyway).. but if I don't turn wifi off it stays there and gallery doesnt show anything anymore.
I think rebooting the device will do.

yes.
I'm only trying to disable this "find nearby devices".
I cant find a way to stop/freeze the process.
Very simple to fix that, in gallery click left option button chose last option "view type" and choose divice only(middle option)

I know, I know.
I always do that.. problem is that everytime I close and re-open gallery it goes back to default (first option instead of middle).
I don't know why it doesn't stay on "device only". :crying:
Use QuickPic! It's free and allows you to select which folders you want to see.

Try removing Quickpic (if installed), reboot, reinstall Quickpic.. You now should be asked for default app again..

Hey guys, guess I have a question:
Is there a sms counter that shows the number of sent messages for each contact?
On roms like cyanogenmod with that stock android messaging app it's like that:
Darth Vader (578)
Click to collapse
Now on our stock sony rom, there's no counter. Maybe I could edit the apk or is there another app from the playstore that counts my messages for each contact?
Thanks in advance!
I searched for such a thing but I couldn't find a counter for each contact.. I found a normal counters for the whole SMSs
If u find a solution or alternatives I wish u can PM dude.. Good luck

Yes, I'm using "SMS Counter" at the moment and it's very good! But it just informs about all sms, sms in one month, sms per week, sms per day. But not for every contact
I hope somebody knows how to get an app like that
By the way I've tried to install the stock messaging app, but it just hangs after opening the app, because I have all my old messages. Maybe a way to fix that?

Sorry to interrupt. I had found such an app. It showed graphical representation of whom called and whom messaged and how many times. U could set an interval to it like u want statistics of one month, one day, one year. I ll just link you once i find it. Coz i used it almost 5 months ago when i was on stock non rooted..
I ll link here once i find
Btw mihahn used ur tutorial to unlock bootloader of my arc s. Really wonderful. Thanks a ton

Hmmm...install SMS Backup & Restore from Playstore....use it to backup all your sms first....
then using Root Explorer go to....
/data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases
delete....
1.mmssms.db
2.mmssms.db-journal
or copy it into your sd card in-case there a problem while restoring sms using SMS Backup & Restore...
once delete or copy, boot your phone....after reboot open stock messaging app....it should be empty...setup all the necessary setting on messaging app first then use SMS Backup & Restore to restore you backup sms....if somehow there a problem after restoring....then use copy and paste back those files above to the same folder with permission (rw-rw-----) then reboot....
Thank you both! Will try both methods, second would be better because I like the stock app
I've tried the method by just wiping data and restoring it but after reboot I got the message "2387 new messages by ..." and if I open it's just stuck there... Hope with deleting the data base it could work :good:
Sent from my SK17i running stock ics (.587)
Okay so now I nearly fixed it:
1. Backup all messages using SMS Backup + Restore
2. Push MMS.apk to /system/app/ and set permissions
3. Reboot
4. Sms app has problems, doesn't work anymore
5. Delete everything in /data/data/com.android.mms/databases/ (two files were in there)
6. Reboot again
7. Everything worked, messages are still there, no need to restore again
Only problem: the date is wrong in the new messaging app (01.01.1970, 01:00), looking for a way to fix that
Thank you both guys! Thank you very much :good:

Yes the other app is great, too, but better would be the stock messaging app, because nobody knows where my data goes with a third party app. And it has some ads and automatically creates some shortcuts and boookmarks on my device. That's not really good
Just checked it: the problem about the date is not because of the backup app, it's because of the messaging app

Just solved it, you need to uncheck the option to show the date when it was sent. Then it'll show the date when you received it and this one is correct. Now it's working great! Thanks all

Yes only problem is I can't set the option to view the date when it was sent instead of the date when I received it ( it shows 01.01.1970, 01:01 for every message I received), but that's not a big problem. So it's solved now

Hi mihahn,
Sorry for being late but try this apk - http://db.tt/gXteGgJG
It is the messaging app from FXP 215 CM9.1. It has the SMS counter for each contact. I think it is just what you are looking for.
