I am going to root using Noxious Ninja's root procedure. which bloatr can i remove safely?
You're on the wrong Forum, this one is for the international i9300 not the US-version.
Look in the US forums to see lists of apps you can remove.
Note that EVERYTHING you flash from the i9300 forum may perma-brick your device!

Hello~
My galaxy note is from Canada Rogers, it says i717 when i plug it into the computer, so i assume this is the right place to post this.
I am new to Android, so i was wondering:
if i root my galaxy note, does it become carrier unlocked as well?
I see tons of websites offering unlocking codes for about 20 bucks, should i use those to unlock or is it possible to do it myself like rooting?
Thanks for any help offered!
Root is not a carrier unlock function.
Carrier unlock is a separate process, usually a pay service via unlock code.
You do not require root to carrier unlock the device.
If you desire root access for flashing roms etc. ...see the "super everything thread "....
Located at the top of the general section as a sticky thread.
Pay very close attention to ensure you are reading the proper threads for your device.
Read, read, and read again until you fully comprehend the steps taken for successful rooting.
The super thread will give you all of the information you will need .....g

Hi all, my friend has.the s2 stated above,.it's an Alltel variant and in America, my question is which android development section in xda is for his particular phone, I'd really like to add root, custom recovery and custom Rom to his phone thanks for any help

There is no specific forum(s) for this variant. Do a Google search for 'SCH-R760 XDA' & you'll get most of the posts relating to this device including a thread on rooting it (it's an 'old' thread, not sure if the method still works or whatever, you'll have to read it to find out).
Wow - this forum is huge
Although I am new to Samsung Galaxy S3 I am prepared to work for it. I just don't want to start flashing unstable files. Which is why I thought I would ask here first.
Question
I have just purchased a Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300 and I have rooted it yesterday via Odin and in my apps I can now see CWM V3.60 and SuperSU Now I am looking for some advice please?
What is Cyanogen 10.1? I have been reading about it but don't fully understand? is it for installing Roms that supersedes Samsung software 4.1.2? and is there a safe tutorial you can point me to?
Also I want to get rid of the bloatware on this device can anyone please point me in the right direction of how I go about doing this?

The bloatware thread in Themes and Apps or flash a custom rom with bloatware removed .
Best to read all the faqs and guides before starting .

Hello everybody,
I'm totaly new with the root thing. I tried already to root my Samsung Galaxy S2 and even though root checker says that my device is rooted I can't unistall some system apps (blootware I think, or something like this ) that I don't need.
Is it possible someone to give me an advice? I will try to root my phone again but I have some questions:
What is the best root method?
Which kernel must I use?
And which custom ROM do you suggest?
My phone:
Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100
PDA: I9100XWLSD
Android: 4.1.2
Thank you in advance

1) There is no best root method, they all work. Stickied threads in General and at the top of Q&A have all the info you need, we're not regurgitating this stuff for every n00b who asks when it's already been done thousands of times before since the phone has been released & we have stickied threads specifically for this purpose.
2) Which kernel you use depends on the root method. Read the method as many times as you need to until you understand it, then follow it. Doing before understanding will lead to a broken phone.
3) Rom recommendations are forbidden here, go to the two development sections once you've rooted your phone, read some threads, try some roms (make sure you do a nandroid backup in CWM before you start; What's a nandroid backup ? Search).
I want to root this old tab for my parents, i''ve been reading the forums but i only find threads on how to root the tab in specific older versions like 4..0.4. Does the same method apply to the version 4.2.2 or do i need to do something different?
