Icontrolpad looks pretty cheap.
Ps3 is a solid controller, wireless, and the six axis app works on all android devices and has tons of features.

Joysticks for gaming on gTabs

Some folks were asking about a joystick to use on our gTabs with games like Dungeon Defender and others games like it so I thought I would post this.
This is the low-profile version (made with plastic) that is marketed for iPads but will work on our gTabs.
http://tenonedesign.com/fling.php
I wish I would have bought that one before I bought this aluminum one as the aluminum one will dislodge once in a while and if you're not careful it will smack your screen and make you wince. But it definitely makes people do a double take when you're sitting in a Starbucks with this one.

Wikipad 3d

I was browsing and came across this tablet:
http://mobile.theverge.com/2012/5/3/2995878/wikipad-3d-gaikai-cloud-gaming-announcement
It will have a quad core tegra 3 processor and ship with Android 4 and retail at a mere $250 with the gamepad. What I'm wondering is, could this be better than the prime, for like half the price? It does look quite promising and you can switch from 2d to 3d anytime, on any app.
I was set to get the transformer 300 but may this be superior?
Thoughts?
Sent from my R800i using XDA
The article doesn't mention that it will be $250. But it would be pretty cool is some third party manufacturer made something like this for the transformer prime.
If you view other articles, then I'm sure the price is meant to be $250. Unless they've changed their plans...

bump as I kinda need guidance on what to do, wait for this, or get the transformer?
Sent from my R800i using XDA
if you wait for the best thing there will always be something better just around the corner.
from what i read its a smaller screen and might not even be touchscreen, i dont know i didnt spend a lot of time reading about it... basically its a cheap android tablet that supports 3d and has a custom built gamepad dock.
The prime or 300 are more like premium built tablets that support a hell of a lot more than that gamepad, bigger screen, and a full keyboard dock, however slightly more expensive.
My quesitons for you are this:
Do you need a tablet right away
Will you be using it for games, videos, music, internet, etc.
Will a keyboard dock be benifitial to you
how often will you use the gamepad
will using a bluetooth controller (like a PS3 Controller) be an acceptable alternative
Basically, weigh out each benifit and downfall of each tablet and based on your own use determine which is the best fit for you. None of us can tell you which will be the best decision for you.

Yea I picked that up the other day bc I saw a review where it said that gta. Was choppy on the hox.. Seems to play flawless for me
NBA Jam is also $.99. I've got it on my PS3 as well, and it's definitely bringing back the memories of my original GameBoy.
thanks for the heads up! there goes a dollar
If you aren't playing NBA Jam right now, I don't know what the **** you are doing with your life.
This is actually part of a larger sale in the Play store dedicated to the longest day of summer. Mass Effect is another big name. Also, not part of this sale, but still half price is the new version of Swiftkey. Here's a link to all the apps in the "Longest Day" sale.

hmm, I didn't even expect that, so that is nice.... the console version suffers from lag which to me makes it unplayable in most cases as the players handle way too loose. thanks for the info

Here's an explanation on how to map the wiimote controller app to work. The example given mentions using a classic controller. However, you could probably map most of the necessary functions to just the wiimote. I saw in another thread that wiimote does work on the evo lte. In the past, it hasn't worked on any htc phones running sense roms.

I've never been a fan of the Grand theft series, but for 99cents its worth it.

Yes there is a way. You need a wireless media reciever and you need to get the app from the Play Market. It will cost a hundred to a hundred and fifty but its worth it cause you can mirror multiple devices. Here is a link to by far the best reciever out there http://www.mirrorop.com/

Impulse Controller

Anyone by any chance get to play with one yet?
I've been wondering if we will be able to customize what the buttons do or switch between profiles while using it.
My *ONLY* reservation about it is that it seems like a lot of the games it would work best for would be the ones that need it the least. I really like the thought put into the project though. The beeper for keys, left handed support, small size, multi use cover for it is all really well thought out IMO.
Part of why I kinda want one is that outside of games, I could actively use it to control my phone while in the car instead of looking at the screen. I just question how well emulators will work for it after seeing it advertised to work well with them.
What's the impulse controller

Given that this thing Just came out, no one has any idea.
I can confirm that the Moga contoller works with the LGOG though, for what that's worth. The Moga Universal Driver does all the things you want, so I'm sure it's possible for this other controllers; it's just a matter of whether or not someone writes a driver.
I really considered the moga but the needing batteries kinda put a kink in my plan.
I really like the keychain design of the impulse though.
I'd consider the steel series if it were 40$ cheaper.

I've considered doing that but, I really want something more pocketable to bring around town.
Ps3 controllers are pretty big in size and not really meant to be thrown in a pocket. I'd be worried about damaging it unintentionally.
I have mine. As a media remote, it works.
As a game controller, I haven't gotten it to work on my Nexus 7. The devs are going to release a firmware that should have an android gamepad IME.
Has anyone else gotten theirs? If so, any luck with Retroarch, or anything at all without having to use GameKeyboard?
