Yes, you will need to use LazyPanda, or HTC Dev unlock, before you can flash via TWRP.

You also need to do LazyPanda or HTC Dev unlock before you even flash TWRP
Edit: Just realized that this comment is redundant. I can't read apparently.
Since you're s-off and you're on mean Rom I'm assuming you're HTC dev unlocked...this was already suggested however from your response I'm not sure if you know what the user meant...in twrp recovery when you select a zip file it shows md5 verification as an option for the installation that setting you should uncheck and then you should be good...I hope lol

Trouble disabling bootsound and screen times out when attempting to use dialer
Awesome rom!!! I am having just two nagging issues... I can't seem to disable the bootsound and I can't call my work voicemail and use the keypad to punch in passcode and menu options because the screen keeps timing out. I already reflashed with a double wipe... Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks. http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/confused.gif

Hi all,
First i would like to say i am a beginner when it comes to rooting etc.
I rooted my evo 3d gsm with revolutioary to get custom roms which i did successfully
However i want to unroot and remove revolutionary so i can get OTA updates and be ready for ICS
Many Thanks
James
Install the latest official ruu. I would highly advise against this however as HTC will likely add an undowngradable hboot in their, and it will only take an extra day or so to have a safe recovery installable version.

No problem. Download this file: http://www.filefactory.com/file/c0b....00_10.15.9020.06_M_release_219793_signed.exe , then connect your phone to the PC via USB and run the file, it will guide you through the rest. Afterwards run the updates via "About Phone" as per normal.
Note that sometimes you won't be able to download it from that site when traffic is heavy, you may be able to find a mirror but I couldn't see any after quickly scanning.

Anyways on to the individual at hand.
What's your device info? Like hboot version, what android version were you on before trying to flash? ICS or GB?
Here's a basics run down on how to get things going again.
There's a stock ruu/ota thread in the dev section, grab the stock GB ruu for your device, put your phone into fastboot mode (check in the amaze bible thread how to do this), restore your device, if it's a zip file for your carrier, rename it to PH85IMG and place it on your sd card, reboot into bootloader and then hit volume up to restore the stock ruu.
If it's an exe file, put it into fastboot and run the exe file, follow all steps and restore the device.
Once done, update to ICS via the software update option available on your device under settings>about phone>software update
Once you're on ICS, flash a custom recovery via hasoon's tool, then reflash the rom you were trying to flash in the beginning.
Ask any further questions right here.

Can anyone help me. I was rooted using the method with Voodoo OTA RootKeeper, not really a full root if anyone knows, anyways i was able to have it rooted installed all my apps like Droid wall, Titanium Backup etc.. Now a couple of days ago a software update from Sprint came in and updated to this 1.22.651.3 710RD...
Am i correct to understand that I can not fully root this now? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
If you accepted the ota update, then you can still unlock through HTC dev and still flash roms. But with the update, cannot obtain s-off.
Yes updated to 1.22.651.3 710RD

By the way I'm on the new OTA and I heard conflicting sides. Some say you can install Roms by flashing through your computer even though you're not rooted (but have done the HTC dev unlock), some say you can't. Also is there a way to root the EVO LTE with the OTA? I've tried the methods that say it'll work but it keeps saying permission denied. :'(

HTc DEV unlock = root for all practical purposes. You just slap on Twrp and flash a rooted ROM.
However, since you accepted the OTA you are now severly limited even with an unlocked bootloader. See the first part of my post.
I actually wasn't rooted or unlocked when i took the ota. I was happy with the speed of the new evo so i didn't think i would need to overclock it like every other device i owned thus no need to root. I took the ota cuz i had major issues with my wifi and that's a huge deal to me since 3g blows so bad in my area that my browser times out..... long story. Sorry. Now i just want to customize. So sorry if this is a repetitive question, but can i use adb shell to flash a rom? If so, does anybody have a step by step? I've always just used clockwork mod in the past so i am new to adb.
Recap:
have the OTA
not rooted
HTC DEV unlocked.

Sounds like regawmod, you need to reboot manually as aoo as it says rebooting. It would probably be easier to unlock manually.a lot of people seem to have trouble. It will probably be updated soon but its been a problem for the last two updates.
I thought I read we can still root this software update
But have to use HTC dev plus a script
Anyone confirm this and have a link to what I need to root the update

Yeah but it uses the HTC unlock, so...

Root will always be available.
HTC gave us a root method
But the annoying thing is that HTC gave us a root method that wipes your phone first.
I'm still waiting for a new temp root exploit so that I can run Titanium Backup first before I do the dev unlock.
I wonder if anybody is actually working on one, or if everybody just takes it on faith that *somebody* must be.
I bet if the HTC method wasn't there, people would be trying harder to find one.
</rant>
This tool works like a charm, and HTC has no idea you are rooted. I used it last night - took about 10 min. You pretty much download drivers and this app, and run the app. Very easy.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690919
What's wrong with HTC Unlock?
I used HTC Unlock and it was a breeze. Given being a noob since this is my first HTC device i've tinkered with, it was quite painless
The only things wrong with it are that:
1. It wipes all your customizations so you have to start over from scratch, or from what some non-root backup app can restore which isn't much.
2. It doesn't give you S-Off, so you can't flash radio updates, but to me that's no big deal.
The biggest issue with HTC dev on the newest H-boot is that you cannot flash kernels normally through recovery
Never accept an OTA. S-Off is soooooo convenient

I thought TWRP / HTC Dumlock could now flash kernels with S-OFF:
http://www.pocketables.com/2012/07/team-win-recovery-project-2-2-1-adds-dumlock-for-boot-flashing-on-latest-evo-4g-lte-firmware.html
Regaw uses minimal user information in the unlocking process.
With that said, you can never be sure HTC doesn't know you unlocked it. Frankly, Its not going to matter if they know or know when your boot loader says relocked.

Sorry, I meant to say S-ON.
(So are there abnormal channels for flashing a kernel then?)
Do I have this all wrong, or isn't it true that a ROM includes a kernel, and you can flash a ROM with S-ON, but not a kernel by itself?

The kernel in the ROM doesnt get flashed. When going from sense to sense it isnt an issue because its still the stock HTC kernel
If you try flashing cm10 without pushing the boot.img the phone wont boot because it has an AOSP ROM and sense kernel
Abnormal channels would be your fastboot flash, htc dumlock, or flashgui
What's the problem.with not being able to flash the kernal thur recovery? You can still push it via fastboot. It not so much of an inconvenience that you would want to not have root and do tons of cool **** to your phone. Who cares if HTC knows you are unlocked? BFD!
Unlock your phone and enjoy it the way it was meant to be enjoyed except flashing radios and kernal via recovery.

Hey there. I would've preferred this posted in my thread, but no biggie, I stumbled across this and thought I'd lend a hand. I can't test 4G since I don't have it in my area. Could be a framework problem but I HIGHLY doubt it. Few prelim questions; what hboot, are you s-off, what recovery. 99.9% of problems with my rom have been flash related.
For tethering you need to set it to "generic ics" check off mns clamping and routing fix. (That's for 3rd party, I don't think sprint hotspot works)

No worries, now to asses the problem!
First what I recommend, second will he what you need to do to fix it based on your current setup
1. Get s-off. J-bears trick works with my rom, (I did it with 1.2.1), downgrade to the 1.04 eng hboot, and switch the 4ext recovery. THIS is what would make life easier for you in the long run.
2. In your case, extract boot.img from my rom, put it in your fastboot directory and flash it via fastboot through the following command "fastboot flash boot boot.img" minus the quotes. This should fix any radio related things such as 4G and wifi and whatnot.
I took out the nexus 7 boot animation because it annoyed me lol, that's the only reason why its gone
