Hi Community,
I was wondering if anyone has got Good Mobile enterprise email app to work successfully on a rooted device? I tried renaming Superuser but no go, when it tried configuring the device it says it will not run on a rooted phone... If someone has got it working please share.

Huh??
Are you asking if there is a good alternative email that works with Exchange?
If so, try Enhanced Email, works perfectly for the year + I have had it, also allows bypass of the PIN code.

No not exchange, there is an app in the market called "Good" for connecting to an enterprise exchange server. Larger companies have started using this to replace Blackberry devices. They make an app for aOS & iOS.

You can hide the fact that your rooted threw different apps available on the play store. Try a few to see if they will help.
#Root-Hack_Mod*Always\=LTE
I never had an issue with Good and my rooted OG Evo but I don't use it on my LTE Evo.
I am currently running Good for Enterprise on my rooted LTE with no problems. Ran it on stock rooted, Meanrom, and now Tranquility without any problems. Never gave me an error or message about being rooted. I also ran it on my Evo 3d and Evo 0G.
I think it may only check for a rooted device if your company enables the check...The company I work for says on the policy doc that you are not allowed to access the company email with Good if you are rooted and it checks during authentication. I will try those apps on the play store that hide the root status and report back if they work. Thanks for the tips.

Thanks Laie! I found "Hide my root" and it hides the root binaries and temp removes superuser so I think that will work, the app has over 10k DLs and many 5 star ratings...I'm too excited been wanting to root this bad boy since I got it but couldn't because of this issue. I appreciate the idea don't know why I didn't think about that...there is an app for almost every thing these days!

Hi, so did Hide my root work? Don't want to root my Galaxy Nexus (Verizon) and start fresh then realize I can't access Good. I had it rooted a while back and my company definitely has that check enabled
I'd also like to know if OTA Rootkeeper or Hide My Root work for this. I have MobileIron coming down the pipe and would like a way to keep my custom ROM and remove root.

Is there any way to find the location of my phone? It was stolen and I just a dumb ass changed my gmail password right away so the person who stole it couldnt access my email.
Is there any way to track it now since google cant be synced with it??
I didnt install any tracking apps on my phone.......I am running 5.0 Inject Th3ry
Thanks guys I appreciate your help!
did you register for a sense account?
sense online does not work with the thunderbolt yet...
I thought lookout had a way to push the app to your phone to track it?
If you signed up for Verizon's TEC insurance via Asurion, I believe you get a phone finder service with that. Don't know how accurate it is though. www.phoneclaim.com Best of luck!

If all else fails. Call verizon, tell them it's lost. Call back every day to see if they placed any phone calls. If they did, call the numbers they called. Verizon can provide you with that info. Disadvantage of that, is they can use your phone to buy things or make expensive calls. But if you keep an eye on verizon's history, you should be able to control that if it gets out of hand.
One time my phone was stolen and I was able to find the guy that stole it because his dad was one of his recent calls. Turns out papa was very disappointed haha! I got my phone back and he got a beating.
Go to the android market on you pc and install Lookout Plan B on you lost phone. It will track it.

Umm, yes it does. If your running a ROM with it and your signed into HTC Sense. There is an option under the Location settings called Phone finder.
If it is checked you can go to www.htcsense.com, sign in and it will track your phone. I just tried before posting this to make sure.
That sucks but you hopefully had phone finder on

Why don't you change your Google Account password back to what it was previously, then install Plan B from the market website. It will push to your phone so long as it's still trying to sync.

There's a hacked .apk here that will work on stock ROMs (might have to be rooted). You sign up with your device set as a Desire HD. I'm running it on my stock OTA MR2 rooted ROM.

I am having a strange problem on the Google play market store, whenever I try to Download or update an app on 4G it gives me a message saying "waiting for network" and it just hangs there and does not start the Download process but when I switch back to 3G it starts the download right away which would be fine if my 3g wasn't so dam slow...Can anyone help? I'd really rather not download over 3g, I have tried clearing the cache for the play store app but the problem remains. I am able to do everything(browse the net, stream video, etc) on 4g except download apps from the store...wtf?

I am. I thought it was from flashing ZR3DX. It stopped working right after flashing it.
Hmm interesting, mine stopped working out of the blue as well...I have been using mean Rom 3.92 for over 4 months and it was working fine until recently. Have you found any work around? Could it be something wrong with the Google play store and not our phones?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
Not our Rom or our phone. Some one over at the HTC EVO shift forums have the same issue. I say its the update. So what we need to do is downgrade the play store and break the damn auto update..... Any thoughts on how? :c

I saw a Sprint Users.com forum where all sorts of Wimax phones are having the issue currently (OG Evo, EG4T, etc). Mine's been having problems since last night. I just disabled 4G and it immediately started downloading. Unfortunately 3G is horribly horribly slow in Raleigh, NC these days. Might as well be using the Edge network. Ugh.
researching varisous forums...multiple handset manufacturers, and multiple carriers. Google has been blaming Sprint, but I also see similar posts on Virgin Mobile and (at least one mention of...) Verizon.

For me it works fine on 3g and wifi, but 4g is broken. "WAITING FOR NETWORK" is all it says. Been on the same Rom for the last 4 months. So Yea this is definitely not the phones.
update: I uninstalled all updates for the google play app and it downloaded perfectly. Now I honestly can't see how this isn't anything other than a bad update from google.
update: however this only works once per app since the market updates and then when the next app starts Bam! Waiting for network.

I started having the same issue today.
This issue is still happening to me and has been for over a week now with no solution in sight

Guys try uninstalling the updates as one of you mentioned but also go into system/app and delete MarketUpdater.apk. Copy it to your sdcard somewhere first. And after deleting reboot.
I don't have 4g and never used it but if your looking to use a version of Play Store that won't update that's the way to do it.

They say no one from Sprint actually reads or cares about their user forums.
But at very least it gets the message out that there is a real problem.
So I know that to avoid the "secure element" issue with Google Wallet, it's best to reset it before flashing a new ROM. What about using a program such as Boot Manager to boot between different ROMs? I usually keep a stock rooted ROM on the phone, and use Boot Manager to store multiple ROMs on the SD card and boot into them for various purposes, like an AOSP to use Wii/PS3 controller for emulators.
Would booting between the two ROMs be ok as long as I don't install Wallet on the other ROMs, or would it still break it even if I didn't install Wallet on the other ROMs? Has anyone tried this, or have any insight? I'd like to be able to use Boot Manager to experiment with some of the other ROMs out there, but I don't want to break Wallet.
Secure element from wallet is no longer an iishe. Google fixed where the data goes
from my flying AOKP'd Evo LTE and xda premium
Can OP please confirm that theres no issues?
Secure element was used to store cc credentials and was verified with some sort of certificate. All sensitive information is now stored in wallet cloud servers, now it uses a virtual masterdcard and a unique key generated at the time of purchase. The key is used on a purchase and a new passkey is generated
Does Boot Manager work with the evo lye. I thought I read somewhere that it does not.

It's legit the new SuperSU app will show a process called mksh trying to access root. Just grant permission and then open the SuperSU app, click "mksh" and select "disabled" where it says "Notifications". mksh is being called by the framework whenever WiFi is enabled and is not malware.
This just started happening to me as well. I've never seen "mksh" before today. Anyone know why it started showing up today for (apparently) multiple people?

It's something to do with wifi nothing to worry about follow the instructions above if you want to get rid of the message
I installed the my Verizon app from the play store and it randomly asked for root when I wasn't even using it. Obviously I denied it because there is no reason for them to need it. Just a heads up Verizon is looking for people who are rooted. Google doesn't turn up any results that say why they need it. Just a heads up for those who update it.
After speaking with a verizon rep, they stated:
"One of the things the new tools with tell us is if a device is rooted. When doing troubleshooting and in consideration of our warranty guides, it does help us to know if the phone has been rooted. We may ask a user to Factory Reset and go back to the normal software before we can assist them with more advance troubleshooting or be able to send them a warranty replacement."
So apparently they need it to check if you have an issue and if you do and are rooted they wont help you. I don't entirely believe what they are up to, but I would advise freezing the app if your not willing to take any risks and are indeed rooted, or simply do not allow it to update.

I'm not going to worry about it. If they decide to take action against root users who cares I'm leaving the network when my contract runs up anyways.

I noticed the same thing... Allowed it by habit, and quickly did a restore... I thought was fishy... Who knows I'm not under warranty anyways,I bought this device outright on eBay....But still didn't want then to know I'm rooted

rootcloak would be the best option, it will keep the app from seeing the device as rooted as opposed to it getting the denied response and vzw still getting their snooping done.

I'm of the similar mindset that Big Red is profiling every device on the network to see who's rooted for warranty issues, as well. Even if they do flag my device as such, I'm not really worried about it. I just don't like the idea of them being invasive like that. It's my device, I'm out of contract, and with how much I pay, you're damn right I'm going to do as I please. If they want to disallow me service, that's fine by me. They'd only be hurting themselves.
