I am new to Galaxy S3...
I wish to root it and Put custom Roms...
Previously I was on HTC sensation….
Like HTC can I Put Custom ROM on S3?
Because all ROMS are saying based on XXDLH Firmware. Mine is the Indian version XXBLH1
AP- XXBLH1
CP-DDLH1
CSC- DDBLG2…
Can I flash any custom ROms or should I change firmware with Odin?

Just root your phone then flash anything that you want.

dont worry dude. I too have an Indian version. First root and then flash any rom of ur choice. Just backup the rom from recovery once you are rooted. That will help you in critical situation.

Please don't forget the EFS folder. And put it somewhere safe (e.g. on a thumb drive and file it) because it's the single not really recoverable part of your phone's filesystem and necessary for all communication. Recovery is easier than paying Samsung for restore

Rooting on 4.0.4

Hello
I have my SGS2 i9100 running official 4.0.4 android and I want to root it, the thing is , I see many diffrent methodes and pepol complaining about some bricks so I'm a bit scared , which I think is normal to feel scared
So can you please , if you have rooted a S2 i9000 from 4.0.4, show me what methode you used ?

whats the purpose of rooting ur phone ma8
Is it just to have root prevelage to run some Root apps or u are into installing some Custom Rom on ur phone

I want to install cwm on my samsung galaxy young s6312, stock android 4.1.2, rooted. I want to know that if I install cwm using rom manager, have I got the risk of bricking my phone????

risk is there but you should try but I guess rom manager cwm does not support your device so try to find a cwm from anywhere else or try building one

Can't install custom ROM

HI... I had tried to install custom ROM on my S2... but I dont know why I cant install custom ROM
Did u get any errors? Can u post them here?
If you dont give some screenshots or at least describe the problem , how do you expect to get help? And why re you posting this on the dev zone?

The first thing you need to do is install twrp on your device. See ashyx guide in the development threads. Installing it will wipe your device so make sure to backup first. Once that is installed you can flash custom roms.
