If you don't know just flash any firmware with flashtools.
First you need to hold vol up + power for 15 second to turn off your phone.

Download a firmware from here and use flashtools.

Doom kernels are for GB not ICS that's why you have boot loop.

If you was on the latest sony firmware that mean ics,any region no problem but if you can find your own region would be better.

This is my first post & thread in XDA, I'm a active user in another forum. I have an OV, which is rooted, has multiple mods, and running on a IHO ROM... So I'm not a complete noob xD
Getting to the point... I currently have a Galaxy Ace that I'm allowed to tinker with (It's a friends) and Ive already rooted it with SuperONeClick.
Now I've tried to flash CWM and I've failed miserably xD
Theres a sticky in the Galaxy Ace Development section, and I've tried a method there for flashing CWM multiple times and I cant get it to work. I've also tried flashing it via the Terminal Emulator like I did with Xionia and my OV, but that didn't work. The last thing i tried was using the stock Samsung Recovery to flash the zip but it wouldnt work, so I renamed the CWM zip to update.zip and I flashed it and it said it flashed CWM and it was successful. When I tried rebooting into Recovery it just hanged on the first Samsung logo. I battery pulled and tried the button combo to boot into Recovery mode and it just hung like before. So I tried to boot into download mode and it would say Emergency Download mode instead of the normal one. So I figured the phone was semi-bricked, but then i just did a normal reboot and it booted up into the stock ROM fine! I dont get it... it wont boot into Recovery but it will boot into the stock ROM.
Before any of you burn me, I'm sorry, I'm new to tinkering with Samsung.
Other points to mention: When Samsung Kies is opened, it just says connecting with that sync icon and just hangs there. It never connects to the phone.
I was trying to use ODIN, and i selected all the files i was going to flash and i plugged the phone in, and ODIN never budged... It didnt recognize the phone, never did anything. I WAS in debug mode...
The Kies things and ODIN stuff i mentioned was tried before and after the rooting...
SO if anyone has any idea, any suggestions on whats going on, and on how i can flash a recovery from where i am now, will be greatly appreciated.
The phone has 2.2.1, Froyo as stock.
you cant flash cwm on a 2.2 phone only 2.3 try the download mode vol down home power

Oh! That's great to know! Well then what can i do? What are my options?
And yeah, Vol Down, Home, Power starts Download mode. I already know that.
I reset the phone to see if itll boot into recovery mode, but no luck & Now, it wont boot into the stock ROM anymore /: it hangs at the Samsung logo.
It boots into Download mode fine...

directly flashing may not workkk stop... i saw somoeone who got fu*ked up with doing so...
try to get it from kies as it will have GB bootloader...
if you flash something that dont have then you may end up with ACE as paper weight
after you get something from kies to 2.3.x then you are free to flash any roms on it for ace

Oh god, what should i do? Im still downloading 2.3.5 from Sammobile. If i flash that with Odin you're saying i might make the phone a paper weight?!?! That sucks. I really need this phone to work like NOW. Im leaving my friends house in the morning, so by then, the phone needs to be working.
I was having problems with Odin. It wouldnt recognize the phone. But i think it just finally recognized it.
And after all this crap, i turned the phone on, and it booted up fine. I restarted it and it hasn't boot up since... anyone have an idea why?
Im scared i might eff up this phone.
And im kinda happy Emoboii is commenting... i saw that he's on many threads for this phone...

BUT... i cant boot into Recovery. I try the button combos and the Samsung logo shows, it turns black shows the same logo again and then boots up as normal. It won't boot into recovery for anything.... Pretty weird.

Search and download "android commander"
Install it...open..connect your phone to pc. If your phone is rooted...then you already know what is recovery.(Connecting boot to recovery...attach USB..mount data, system partitions.
Open android commander.exe...application manager..uninstall "root uninstaller" OK.
Restart phone.
This should unzfreez those apparently what you freezes.
It this don't help...make FW reinstall.

Hi, I read the 'existing users' installation instructions on the Sspeed ICS rom and installed the rom without installing the ics rom and kernel (I was tired). When booting, I go in a bootloop with the doomkernel screen. I can access recovery fine.
When holding vol+ and connecting to PC the phone goes back into it's bootloop and does not boot into fastboot.
When holding vol- and connecting to PC the phone flashes the green led and then boots into bootloop.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. I have tried this before. When it gets to the screen saying connect your phone, when I hold Vol- and plug in it flashes green and then boots to doomlord screen, then loops.
Did you tried to flash the stock kernel with fastboot?
Try to install the drivers from flashtools folder.

There is high chances of a system file being corrupted. Use flashtool to flash ftf fw. Then install any pre rooted kernel through command prompt using fastboot method.
