Is their one or not. This was the only reason I even considered the S3 . I am not reading of any posts regarding Voodoo and Supercurio doing his Captivate majic on this device...

Yes for international quadcore version only.
I have the international quad core version and I didn't even know it existed or if it is any good but how does it fare compared to HoX's beats? or was the beats thing an app and not hardware?

Beats is SW. The Wolfson DAC is a hardware chip that spanks Yamaha's Samsung used in the SGS II and Note. Supercurio worte an excellent app for it. Sounded GREAT. It was the only reason I was considering the S3. ( I buy International devices exclusively)
I am hooing the Note II uses the sane DAC. ..
According to them: In the world of Audio Purist or shall we say "Audiophile", Beats be it headphones or software sound enhancements are crap/overpriced bling2x thingy...
Yes, it has a Wolfson DAC. I wouldn't have bought it if it didn't.

Strike audiophile, anyone who has heard decent quality sound - especially Voodoo Sound - will vouch for Beats being complete ****e in all its iterations, both software and hardware.
The One X is a lovely phone, but the S III completely trounces it sound-wise. Hopefully we'll see something from Supercurio soon, his perfectionism means it'll be worth the wait, buy it doesn't make the wait much easier.

Perhaps the video, bluetooth and camera drivers can be ported over to our AOSP ROMs (jt's and kaos's) so camcorder, bluetooth, and video playback functions will work.

Actually, every Galaxy S *except* the Fascinate is pretty far along in development. Working AOSP-base Gingerbread ROMS and everything. And the i9000 has Touchwiz Gingerbread.
Given that Samsung has already released Froyo for our exact hardware, the Fascinate thing is clearly a Verizon issue at this point. Whether it's to sell the Charge (maybe, but AT&T didn't block the Captivate for the Infuse) or, more likely, Bing BS, who knows.

All the Galaxy S are relatively similar, so we can work from other Galaxy's sources. After all, they are the same family.
It just sucks that we don't have our "own" sources.

It seems like its possible to use some of the Epic's 2.3 sources for JT/Kaos AOSP/CM. Like BT/MMS/Camcoder, those things we currently have problem with.
Let's just think positively
Would be nice if a dev let us know how valuable the Epic and Charge source files were.
Am curious myself since those phones are CDMA.

Hello everyone!
I wanted to buy a new phone but i am a lil bit confused. I like to play HD games on my phone, surf internet, listen music, take pictures and a GOOD battery life. Here's the list of phones in which i m confused:-
1. HTC One X
2. Sony Xperia S
3. HTC One S
4. LG Lucid 4G
Which of the above phone should i go for?
Please help me out!!
It depends on what you want out of a phone. For example if you have giant hands you'll probably want a note. If your not a giant but still want a big screen, Galaxy Nexus. I have a Nexus and I'm amazingly happy with it and the community around it. Saying this the one X has had amazing reviews and has a quad core. Hopefully this enlightened you some what.
Edit: I don't personally like xperia phones and the software they come with. So that's why I didn't mention this one

Here is your definitive answer:
The us version does NOT have the wolfson DAC.
This has been confirmed and posted here countless times.
It uses the onboard sound from qualcomm.

Hi,
Does anyone know if samsung will ever update these players? This will prob be the last samsung player i buy, at lease apple releases updates for the players.
Doubt it. Plus the new huge-like-xbox players are coming out soon. So they'll probably focus on those.
Today Samsung posted a press release where it listed many devices that will get Jelly Bean, and one of them was the "Galaxy Music", and Android Police was speculating that it could be referring to the Galaxy Player.

At the very least, we can hope that all the JB updates can be used to make the Player's ICS ROMs better.
A wise person once posted "With Android, you get 100% of the update 50% of the time. With Apple, you get 50% of the update 100% of the time". The Android Advantage is that you can grab an update from another place

Pardon my ignorance (and being too lazy to search for the answer ).
BLE is Bluetooth Low Energy, right? So, in practice, what benefit will that give? Is it just something to help decrease battery usage? Does BT really use that much battery, when, say for example, you're using it to stream music to your car's stereo or something?

Right. So, if you leave your phone connected to a smart watch or a BT headset all day, how much faster does it use the battery? Past experience makes me think keeping a BT connection alive - and even using it for something persistent like streaming music - doesn't really burn THAT much juice. So, what I'm really wondering is how much BLE is really going to help?
e.g. let's say I have my phone streaming music from the local SD card all day. If I use a cord from the headphone jack to the receiver, let's say the phone will run for 10 hours on a charge. If I do the same thing except have it stream over regular BT to the receiver, it seems like (from my experience, it would probably last at least 9 hours - maybe longer. So, if it was using BLE instead of regular BT, how long would it last?
My normal usage for this is having my phone hooked up to a BT intercom mounted on my helmet, when I'm riding my motorcycle, and listening to music while I'm riding. I haven't gone on a long ride since I got my S4, but with my old Rezound, my phone would go just about all day on a charge, while streaming music from my SD over BT pretty much the whole time. Which is to say, it lasted almost as long while streaming over BT as it did if it was not playing music at all. That makes me think that current BT doesn't consume very much power.
So, like I said, it makes me wonder how much real world benefit will actually come from BLE.
Will be keeping an eye out for this...

The Google edition and play edition are the same thing, you get it from the play store so some people call it the play edition. Yeah there really isn't much of a difference which is disappointing. I hope that they are going to somehow add or enable more features when they officially announce 4.3
