Using it. But when i connect to kies it says cannot start the service on device reconnect and start. Reconnecting again ,same message

I called the operator many times to install the settings. but still no help.
If anyone in uae, can u confirm theres a gb 2.3.6 for uae?
any advice?

Yep, they are still there.
I installed new one by calling the helpline. they told me to restart my phone afterwards. i did, but still cannot connect.
Is it possible that marketenabler app is causing the problem? i know that when you switch sim ids (from local to US etc) u cannot connect 3g.
but even if i try to connect with local sim id it does not connect
Man, just Google for your provider apn details for android. As far as I know 3g etc should work the same on all firmwares unless your phone is not the international version.
I have the i9100t which has a different modem. When I flash any rom I reflash just the modem and all is good again. But first make sure your apn is correct and you have selected it (should have the green dot beside it).

Hi all,
First time poster, long time follower!!
I'm hoping someone can help me here because i have a real headache with my galaxy s2. I live in Rep. of Ireland.
When i got it at Christmas everything was perfect. But two weeks later i suddenly lost my 3g. Phone works fine on 2g (except for the slow speed), but i contacted my carrier 3Ireland and they said everything is fine on their end. My APN is perfect, i've tried toggling airplane mode, entering codes, data package checks. You name it and i've tried it.
When i force my phone to select 3g it looses all signal and i have to restart my phone and quickly go back into settings to choose 2g or i will loose signal again.
This is the following on my phone.
Android version 2.3.5
Baseband version I9100XXKI4
Kernel Version [email protected] #2
Build number GINGERBREAD.XWKI8
I've being reading about modem/radios lately, is that just the baseband? Could that be my problem. I'm a noob at this kinda thing.I just want my 3g to come back.

sxi200 makes an excellent point. Make sure what your model is - GT-I9100, GT-I9100G, GT-I9100T - it WILL make a difference.

made sure it is i9100 and not T or G.
Now i am going to downgrade to 2.3.5 to jpkj2. my final option.
anything i should know about?

Because I've flashed an international firmware, when the phone boots up it shows i9100 and in settings / about phone it also shows i9100.
The only place it shows as an i9100T is on the sticker under the battery. So remove the battery and check just in case.
EDIT: you say you flashed an Indian firmware. Aren't Indian models the i9100G. Maybe you need to flash the international firmware if you indeed have an international model.

Well, i did go back and flash the jpkj2 2.3.5. and still no connection.
will try from an open place again later.
i have an issue with my internet connection too. i got an I9100(international version) and things were perfect till i switched to 4.0.3 and since then, my internet just refuses to connect although i have full signal strength and 3G or H displayed. but there is nothing going through.
it works again after i switch to airplane mode and back. i have no issues with wifi.
i have tried many modems and roms. i am currently using the KI4 rom and it still gives me issues.
please help.
update on situation
Hi guys,
just an update on my situation. Had the phone sent to Samsung twice for a check and bothe times it came back perfect with test sheets showing all was perfect. I decided to have another check done on the phone and it now says that the phone is blocked!! What the hell!. When i checked first weeks ago all was good and now it says it's blocked, but i'm getting 2g signal, surely i should be getting nothing if it's barred.
I have no idea who the origional service provider was of the phone, is there any way of finding out who the origional provider was or is there any way of removing this barring?

So i flashed a i9100T modem on my phone with CM9 latest nightly(i know, i know, its a nightly rom) with this modem: I9100TDUKJ1.
I have no internet connection on CM9 but when i install Miui V4 SGS2 2.3.19, i get internet connection. This is weird.
I bought the phone from bell and now im overseas in Thailand and i need to use the internet.
Im on CM9 latest nightly and the internet wont work. Im thinking of flashing a i9100T modem! Please help! Thank you!
I tried KI3, KI4 and all the new ICS Modems and non works. So im turning to the i9100T variant since the 850mhz band in these modem works better.
Some modems are better for certain networks/carriers, so you can definitely flash the i9100T modem in your i9100M. If you are not happy with the network performance, you can always go back to your original modem - there is a huge collection of modems in xda. It will not kill your phone, I personally use different branded modem in sgs2 phone.

i was on iNFECTED's linaro sabermod compiled cm10.1 rom ah very good and insanely stable rom. but my 2g network didn't work. so this night i reflashed 4.0.4 xwlpy in odin updated to swedens latest jellybean 4.1.2 xxlss.
then i rooted my phone with philz kernel i9100 v.5.0.6.1
then i flashed iNFECTED's rom 11th build. my modem is xxms2.
that all i have done... and when i try to toggle 2G again my signal and network triangle turns black and shuts down.
2G = no network. 2G+3G = enabled network works fine
what is the problem i am like the only one in that forum with this problem.
it is an unlocked phone and my simcard carrier is sweden three (3) meybe they don't support 2G ?
EDIT: just googled a bit and i finally found an answer, three (3) doesnät support 2G network anymore xD

Try XXLS9 modem.It's a fantastic modem.You will find download link in my sig.Flash it via CWM.
I’m using a custom rom from here based on XXEMH1 (4.1.2) (Pardus HD Rom 4.1.2 FINAL).
Odd as it may sound but I rarely use 3G for internet use.
I’ve discovered that it is not connecting and under the phone status it states: Roaming = not roaming, Mobile network state = disconnected.
However, roaming is on and the APN settings are correct for T-Mobile UK.
I was going restore the phone to a stock ROM but I am beginning to think it could be caused by a CSC / modem issue?
I apologise in advance if this has been posted and my old brain can’t find a link
I’ve search the forum and I have found a link to downloadable CSC’s for odin (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2198512)
But the link is dead to the CSC files is dead?
IMEI is correct, phone is connecting to the T-Mobile / EE network and there are no other issues.
If anyone has a solution before returning to stock ROM I would appreciate it.

First thing is to return to full stock with CSC and modem for the UK, too many variables else.
