Hello everybody
One friend will get his lg p506, and i want to help him "modding" his new phone, but i have some doubts
1) If a want install CM 7.2, i have to flash the new baseband first? if the answer is yes, how? just flash like p500 o i have to do something more with p506?
2) The recovery is special for thi model? or just can install it from rom manager?
3) i can install p500's roms or exist specific roms to p506?
4) The last one, exist some kmz file to update the p506 to gingerbread or i can use one of p500?? I think that from that way i can get new baseband
Thanks a lot for your help

there is a really active thrive/pheonix forum in android central
1. you need new baseband. you need to flash baseband specific to thrive(i think)
2. only p506 roms. p500 and p506 are cousins but not the same.
3. DO NOT FLASH P500 ROM THROUGH KDZ TO P506 it might brick your phone.
for new baseband, once you find the right files. the method should b e the same for all devices though

Hi
I recently got my LG P500 which is my first Android phone.
I have to say it's really awesome! Though it took me a whole friggin day to get the custom restore set up, it was well worth it
I am currently running the Void Mod and the new Kernel by mik_os. Both work great!
Now there is only the software version. I have the 10a version and I heard that the 10c (I have it already on my PC) would solve the +001 bug.
My question is: If I update do I have to completely wipe my phone?
Cheers!
don't install the V10C update. it solves 1 bug but brings home many.
you should wipe your mobile. anyway everything will get deleted. so wipe as a precaution so nothing.
PS: also depends which country rom you talking about. cause different rom solves different problems & offers new ones.
I am talking about the european 10c
So just to clarify: When I install the 10c (or 10a for that matter) I will always delete my custom rom, kernel, loose root and will have to do it all again from scratch?
Is it expected that Gingerbread will come with a new software version or is that a LG problem?
V10C cannot be rooted. So don't install/upgrade to this version.
How come it cannot be rooted? I thought impossible is nothing?
So lets rephrase my question to 10a...
When I install the 10a I will always delete my custom rom, kernel, loose root and will have to do it all again from scratch?
Thx

You can be damn sure about that
i heard that it is possible to root & install custom recovery properly & flash custom rom onto the Korean version of the P500, the Optimus One. Apparantly, there are some more functions like DMB.. and there seems to be a driver problem. The phone doesn't boot when flashed with a custom ROM. Can anyone try to build a custom ROM for the Korean optimus one? i do not own a korean optimus one, but i can ask the dudes back in twitter for the stock ROM. If anyone requests the stock ROM, i will post it here. Thx in advance.
why dnt u try makin it urself,
Its not that hard.
Really basic unix and copy paste
I agree to ccdreadcc's suggestion. Create your own ROM based on your device's firmware.
Guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=901417
Since I have no idea what DMB is, and I cant test your version of the O1 anyway, this is my suggestion

sorry i was misdirective. I live in Singapore, so i don't have a Korean ROM. i'm just doing this for the benefits of Koreans.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Multimedia_Broadcasting
DMB is a mobile TV thing only for Korea
sir link pls for the korean stock rom
sir can you post the link for the korean stock rom for the lg su370?thanks
So I'm sorry if I shouldn't be creating a new thread for this. It's a pretty unique situation and I couldn't find it anywhere.
I had upgraded my P500 to official 2.3.3. I then decided "hey, I should try out some custom roms because this sucks...". I rooted with SuperOneClick, managed to install Clockworkmod recovery and the set out to find a nice new rom. I soon discovered that there weren't really any exciting ones that piqued my interest because of the new baseband. The baseband thing is also confusing the heck out of me. Anyways, I managed to KDZ Updater back to my stock firmware because I figured I might as well do something good out of this. So now I'm on 2.2.1, specifically LG v10v. This is a Koodo phone if that helps at all. Also, I'm pretty sure CWM is now wiped and super user access is gone too. Spent a good amount of time putting everything back on the silly thing yesterday lol.
First question: Am I now on new baseband or old baseband (having flashed with
KDZ)?
2nd: I keep seeing references to baseband 10 or 20 followed by a letter. Am I on baseband 10v? If I want to use a custom rom, do I need to change it to 10 a,b or c or something like that.
3rd: Seems like mixed reviews on this one all over the place. Can Rom Manager be successfully used on the P500 to install CWM or does it brick it?
Any other info you can think of would be terribly helpful. Please go easy on me! I'm not sure if I made a mistake by creating this post or not...
You can use RomManager to flash cwm, in the past you could softbrick your phone, but this issue is already solved.
With froyo you are on old baseband, so you can use almost any custom rom for old baseband. No need to flash any baseband for these roms.
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
Hello Crispus222 !
If you are on stock 2.2.1 V10v flashed by KDZ, you have the old baseband.
So if you wanna try custom ROMs you should search those who support the old BB.
But don't forget that you can change baseband without flash stock ROM via KDZ.
ROM Manager flash cwm recovery without problems on rooted phone, I have done this many times
1) Old baseband. If you've used a full stock 2.2.1 or lower rom, than you're on the old baeband now.
2) I'm on the old baseband and mine is 10v. So I'm assuming you're now on the old baseband! Congratulations!
3) Yes. ROM Manager CAN be used on the LG Optimus one whether you have the old or new basebands. Just install ROM manager, choose flash ClockworkMOD and then scroll down to "LGE Optimus One" and hit flash. After that, boot into recovery and you're done!
enjoy all goodies .
u r on old baseband after kdz flash.
now root using z4root . (file sharing sites remember!)
install rom manager from market and install cwm recovery n yeah it works without a glitch but its ur luck too.
reboot into recovery n there u go !

You are and have always been on OLD baseband as you have to flash the new one in a seprate step.roms don't come with any baseband included.10v\or\10s don't matter as that is OLD baseband.20g\or\20a is new baseband.Rom manager can Install CWM recovery on any p-500 sccuessfully.I would ROOT 1st before installing. The brick comes from flashing a corrupt (over the air) downloaded rom & flashing that.TWRP 1.1.1.1.XL is my choice for recovery but CWM is fine. The LGDMP tool is also my choice for flashing baseband & rescue my phone when things go wrong.ROMs run on either old baseband or new but the newer ones run both (but download the link you are going to run)choice.Hope this helps !
Thanks so much everyone! I appreciate the help a lot.

If you already have CWM installed, then you're all set to install the custom ROM. Just make sure to run the Nandroid backup from CWM before the upgrade (better safe than sorry).

It means you have replaced the recovery to one that allows you to upgrade your ROM among other things (CWM that is).
Regarding custom ROMs - that's the big question: There are nearly no custom ROMs for this device, or rather to the L7 II series. If you browse the Android development section, you'll find some custom ROMs, but they are all based on the current 4.1.2 one. There's also an MIUI ROM for your device, about which you can read at the end of this thread. According to other threads here, LG has announced it would upgrade the L7 II series to KitKat somewhere round August (which should be any time now), so I guess the best thing to do would be to wait for it (as I do).

Hi everyone, I have a problem with my Lg L9 II, it's the the stock rom but updated on 4.4.2 (KitKat).I have some bugs on my phone and it's a bit slower.I want to the install my original rom 4.1.2, I dowloaded him from your forum but when I transfer on SD Card and open CWM with the button volume up and power key I get the block ( I take picture and she is in attachment). I don't have a root. Can anyone explain me how to fix that, that I can install my original rom with CWM or TWRP. I hope so that You can help me, and sorry if the that thread is duplicate, I'm new here and don't know how it's work. Thanx in advice.
Kind Regards
did you had CWM installed!?
if you want "original" ROM (from LG), install the 4.4.2_V20g version via KDZ install (20g is the best version in my experience).
if you want cwm or twrp to experiment custom roms.... a good start: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2730501

You need to flash the respective V10x kdz(according to your region). V20 is KitKat. V10 is JellyBean.
