Further decrease music volume ? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I have a question about the volume while playing music.
Is it possible to reduce it further than the lowest limit ?
On my previous device (SGS 1), I used voodoo app, but I don't think that it's already available for the GS3...
(I ask for this because with my headphones it seems to be still quite loud)
Thanks in advance !

I would like to know that too !

I found a solution for this problem, in case there are people wanting to do this:
I installed Siyah kernel and you can reduce the headphone amplification through the tweaking app (I also installed CM9, but it should work without it)

The name of that "tweaking app" is Extweaks. It can be found on google play store.
Yes, you dont need anything extra for it. Only Siyah kernel is required and nothing else like CM9.

Music Quality - Community Rom V1.3

I'm on the Community Rom V1.3 (flashed v1.2 kernel) and am having problems with my music quality. Any time I run anything while listening to music (via Pandora or my music app) the quality is poor. The music "skips" or has a "staticy".
Is anyone else having this problem?

Are you using the voodoo sound app from the market? If you couple that with the galaxy s tuner app you can do quite a bit for quality & volume. I haven't had anything like what you're getting though but I'm on the otb1.4 kernel.

No, I'm not using the voodoo sound app. However, I don't believe that is what was causing the problem. I believe my problem was related to CWM 3.0... so I flashed back to stock, flashed CWM version 2.5... and flashed the community rom v1.3. I'm waiting for my phone to reboot before checking to see if the problem is still there.

You're not referring to a "popping" sound, are you? If you are, then it's a known issue on Voodoo Kernel Version 8.

It's a similar sound to what you may have experience when downloading a bad Napster file back in the day. Or when listening to a poor vinyl record that is scratched a bit. I'll report back either way once I've restored.
The problem is still there. I'm surprised nobody else is having this issue as I've searched everywhere to no avail.
Thank you for taking the time to help.
As said above it is a voodoo sound v8 problem. It is mostly in regards to touch input we think, so if you sony use your phone while listening it's fine.
Or you can find an older kernel that doesn't implement v8 and enjoy the flawless glory of un glitch-y voodoo sound.

Thank you, Huntredgo. Perhaps you have a good kernel recommendation that I can flash over Community v1.3?
I attempted to flash imnuts' stock kernel (via Odin) over community v1.3 and I received the "permasung" when trying to reboot. Still trying to find a kernel that will solve the issue.

Do this -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13644624&postcount=14
If you don't know it -> small latency errors caused higher frequency crackles, larger latency errors caused lower frequency pops.

The problem persists. I changed my input to bfq and can still hear the popping sound. Especially when I'm touching the screen in any manner.
I also tried older kernels.
Any other suggestions?

Voodoo louder work just fine.
I have heard that the Beats audio (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1728391) works for some and distorts for others. I was able to get it to install but haven't really tested it.

I messed with the volume using xxTweak on Ktoonsez's fluxx and ended up destroying sound on my phone calls. I got it back after resetting to default, fixing permissions and rebooting but I've been reluctant to mess with settings without knowing how I messed them up the first time. Not sure what corresponds to what in the options.

Sound loudness between ROMS

OK so I know that the GS2 has the EU sound cap on it. And I know how to get to the service menu but that does t always work in CM10. My question is why is there no set sound level between ROMs? To see what I'm talking about, install Chameleon ROM and listen to audio using headset. Then try a CM ROM and you'll notice a huge loss of loudness.
Thoughts?

CM10 presently has a known volume bug.
You can use extweaks (with Siyah, dream or Dorimanx kernel) to boost three headset volume.
Or
download voodoo louder or similar apps to achieve that.
Swyped from my Galaxy SII
I do that but still not as loud as Chameleon ROM. Thanks for the info, Emma do some more digging around to see what happening.

Music enhancer for aokp jellybean

I'm looking for something to improve the audio performance of phone running aokp. I searched and found lots of options including awesome, beats and Sony mods but nothing specific to my device. What is everyone's favorite because I know this Yamaha chip can do better than what it is doing now.

Those should still work.
Bleh
Yeah I mean why not just install them and see if they work? Worst case scenario you break something and have to use your nandroid backup.
search would yield many answers.... vodoo louder is what i use. if you're on siyah kernel, extweaks too.
Ok I will give those a try. I enjoyed using ex tweaks with shostock but it doesn't seem to have the same effect on aokp. On aokp the bass response seems much worse on aokp compared to shostock when playing the same song over the same stereo leading me too look for something else. I will also give voodoo louder a try as I had forgotten about that one. Thanks for the advice guys.

Latest aokp should have DSP manager.

Mr Robinson Aroma has a proper awesome beats.
I'm using it right now.
And use Siyha(Aroma also have it) kernel to increase the output. You can found this option on ExTweaks.

Personally I use Poweramp. The EQ settings are the best IMO. Beats audio mods are crap bro. It is a "V" shaped equalizer, nothing more. If you like bass, go beats. I suggest getting the beats audio installer (if you want beats audio) from the Play Store because it gives you the "b" icon. To change volume levels you also can use Extweaks for Ktoons Siyah kernel to boost or lower the audio levels to your liking. IMO the Yamaha chip needs major EQ to get it to sound decent. I use the rock preset in power amp

S3 incall low sound problem

Hi, i have realised that my incall sound has gotten very low on my s3. I think it's water or dirt that has gotten in the speaker but i was wondering if there is a app or any file that would make the sound louder than normal. Thanks
