Hi...my friend has this Blaze 4g and I freaking love the thing! The UI & the lockscreen are the best I've ever seen! I was wondering is there a way someone could make a port of it to the Vibrant?
Sent from my T959 using xda app-developers app
It depends, it will take time, and what type of ROM was he running, maybe he just had a different launcher
Sent from my Jellied out Vibrant sandwich.
Check out the Hellybean nightlies Here and here and the Devil Kernel for ICS here and Jelly Bean here for the Galaxy S and variants.
It was a stock rom that came with the phone. He hasn't even rooted yet. I'd never seen a touchwiz like it. It was pretty awesome.

See if you can get him to send you some screenies so that you can post them here. Do you know what version OS? If 2.2 or 2.3, see if you can get him to pull a copy of the framework-res.apk (obviously once he roots the thing) and then we can pull the images out of it and make a theme, at the very least to match it.
Porting a 4g ROM would be difficult just for the mere fact of the radios involved. But I bet we could theme it up pretty nice.
I have a blaze 4g, just took is as upgrade from my pre-release vibrant... I its set up just like the stock GB vib... the lock screen is like the circle lock but without apps... other than that its twiz... when's the last time you tried the stock GB on the mighty vibe? Lol... I love this phone and the devs that kick ass.

seriously, you're requesting yet another sense port, when we still haven't gotten a very functional port yet?
Lol I guess a group of dev should get together and work on it

Might be easier with the newer versions of Sense seeing as how less intrudive it is on an OS level. That said i'm sure its still a PITA.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
Yes it is another sense rom.. but i actually think it would be easier since a newer version of it (as said).. looks way nicer as well
Its not likeim demanding it or anything.. just seeing if anybody would be up to it.. even tho the phone IS suppose to he better then the sgs2.. i guess the ROM parr of it doesnt make a difference.. more of other things

No, it is relying on the ICS framework.
Is it possible to get this running on OG evo at some point? If I had some dev knowledge i could help but i just have a phone im willing to break. :3
~even though it's in the E3D section we still need some love too. :c

It is possible. No one can promise it'll run at top speed though.
Normally I dont bother overclocking my device but if it would make it run faster, i would rather kill my battery in 20 minutes just for that amount of ics goodness.
No gapps.?
Via My HTC Evo 3D On The Now Network From Sprint.
I will say I like sense 3.0 however once this becomes a full functional rom in the future i'll definitely be running it. from the videos I've seen and from the stream I saw tonight ICS is gonna be sick. but in the meantime I will continue to run the warm rom
Will this every be the great? I seem to remember that we could never get a good honeycomb ROM when it was a sdk port

Thanks for this topic. I was just about to post this asking if devs would jump on it. I don't develop ROMs, but can't wait to see what these awesome devs can do with ICS on the HTC Evo 3D. Knowing them, we'll have it before the Galaxy Nexus even comes out lol

you thought they wouldnt infect it with touchwiz? lol where have you been
(assuming this is true) as much a visual difference is slightly disappointing, a guts upgrade to ICS is really what matters most. I'll take a normal UI that operates faster than a fancy UI any day.
I like how the one ****ty leaked Rom that was posted gives them the basis to write this article.
Correction, no ICS interface for non-rooted stock phones.

personally, I dont care too much for a couple of reasons. 1. I actually liked Touchwiz (at least 4.0+) and 2. I wasn't going to be running stock anyway, so if I really need that ICS interface, CM9 will 90% sure be on our phones. And, at least we're (by that I mean the Galaxy S 2) getting the update. Look at the Captivate for example
Most of us won't bother with stock samsung UI so it won't matter. CM9/MIUI V4 is in my future.
Non-issue article. Move along.
Touchwiz 4.0 on Android 2.3: Looks great!
Touchwiz 4.0 on Android 4.0: Dear god that looks ugly.
Since when did people start believing that if we got ICS that it was going to AOSP? We didn't get AOSP gingerbread.....its why all firmware releases are delayed. It gives manufacturers time to put on their UI......not to mention AOSP ICS is the corniest looking POS I have ever seen......the icons are way oversized.....the corny folder crap we have had on GO for a year. I am so glad to see TW covering up that abomination. Give me the guts to optimize my dual core and get the rest the hell outa here.

I disagree, touchwiz covers up the best parts about ICS, it went well with touchwiz 4 on gingerbread because it looks better than stock gingerbread. Stock ICS IMO is way ahead of anything else on the market
The article is referring to the leaked roms on the I9100 there is still time for Samsung to wrap ICS up in a newer/revamped TW UI.

Kind of disappointing but cm9 will fix that quite nicely. Not to say I'm at all surprised.

I actually dont care either way the looks can be changed easily for both rooted and non rooted people. Honestly after having ICS'd out on my phone for a daily driver for a good while I switched to MIUI because the color combo of ICS gets old quick
doesnt bother me, i love touchwiz and i just wanted ICS underhood features... this is GREAT news for me... looks perfect, i would miss it if it was removed... i dont think ICS looks all that amazing IMO
I'm positive we'll get a good version of ICS whether it be official or from a DEV what difference does it really make?
not much it will be here within the next three months either way

Well put!! Just one more reason for me to root!!
I have the HTC EVO 3D CDMA flashed to virgin mobile. It is always trying to connect to 4G and since I have no 4G im pretty sure it takes battery life. How do I completely remove 4G from dastin's CM10 ROM? Or any ROM?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
Hmmmmmmm that is a good question. You could flash a Rom that doesnt have working 4g. Like viper3d or chubbz gruesome sense 4.1. They don't even have 4g as a option.
I really really like AOSP based ROMs and don't want to go back to sense. I prefer to find a way to remove 4G because jelly bean is AWESOME.
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
There is a couple jellybean rims out that are making nice progress. I recommend team dirtys aokp jb. The dev Mazda is amazing and making nice progress. However I'm not sure if the Rom is compatible with virgin mobile. double check with him in his thread in the dev section. Why would you want 4g removed? It doesn't seem like an issue. Just turn it off to save juice.
I can't turn it off. It always just says "turning on... " so I can't turn it off. Thats what I want to remove it.
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
I'm not sure how to do that one. Just flash one of.the roms I mentioned. You won't have that problem anymore. The problem could be Rom or kernel related. Have you tried flashing a different kernel first?
Nope. Not sure what kernels are compatible with his cm10 ROM. You know any?

I am curious what everyone's favorite new jelly bean features are. I gotta say from using my Nexus I love the clock app. Its finally on par with HTC clock. Which is something I always go back to sense for.

Correct there are no public releases yet, jellybean is as stable as ICS in my opinion for what I use, but the developers are doing very extensive testing to make sure that the average user doesn't have any more risk flashing jellybean than they do with ICS. When it is released, its because Chad and the other guys working at the source level feel it's relatively safe and secure.

That's good top hear I've been bummed buy the lack of updates and stuff for the REZ lately. But its good to know is just because they are all working hard on getting us jelly bean. I'm pretty stoked for it to be released. I'm really thankful for these guys working hard on a device that's been such a pain in that ass

I'm thinking that rezound development is better now than its ever been. We have aosp, senseless, sense 3.6, sense 4.0, sense 4.1 and a sense 4.5 test build. That's just OS versions. There's more roms actively being updated and developed now than I can ever remember. PM me if you have some questions on recommendations or where to find good roms.
I'm currently running Ecliptic Rez with a nice kernel snuzzo and hawknest built for that rom and there's an update getting ready to drop.

Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA Premium.
I'd love to check out JB but I went back to a Sense 3.6 ROM (Rezone Redux) from Rage 1.9 because of issues with my phone not switching towers properly. I'd often lose data (especially when transitioning between 3G and 4G) and have to turn the radio off and on to get it back without having to wait forever. Airplane mode became my most used quick setting.
