NFC. Uses and surgestions.??? and tech - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

OK so i have been thinking about that NFC.
Have eny one here eny experince wiht it ?
And what to use it for. what is the range ?
i guess im thinking more for home/work use.
i know that its a payment ioption some some places. (thought i havent seen eny or tryed eny)
Is it the NFC.incorpurated in the battery or does it make hte battery NFC some otherway ?
i ask since i bought a extra battery. that was 2300 mah. so maybe the NFC takes up the 200 mah.
that my new extra is bigger than the original ? in other words would a replacement battery battery work ?
I have read it can like turn on and off the wi-fi. witch would be nice when commming home.
and there was like a sticker on the door frame then turned it on when comming home and off when leaving.
but again what range ? and do you need to for that. ? 1x turning on. 1x turning off. ?
Does it work in a case. ? like i have the otterbox commuter. case. does it work through that ? or is it too thick ?
what about metal ? some cases have metal. does it still work ?
What other uses would be usefull ? and smart.
Like i owul dlike it to turn on sleep as android.to monitor my sleep.
could i like put in the charger cable and ley it on the NFC tag when ready and it would do it all itself ?
Is there eny differences in the NFC chips/tags/tiles,, ? quality/ range / storage ?
whares the best place you have found them good and cheap ? whats the best program ??
Alot of questions. but i havent found eny answers. elsewhere.
I realy hope theres some one out there who knows some of this.

Look in this forum, there are a lot of good threads about what nfc can be used for.

first of im not a hacker.
and yes i have read some of it. but not found answers to my questions. but maybe its a better place to post it.
maybe a modarator can put this post there is thats the normal place for NFC questions.

OP.. you've got a lot of questions.. a lot that are easily answered by searching. Use the links provided to do some reading to get a little more familiar with NFC. All of them have helpful info. You don't need to be a hacker.
Here's another thread you can use for reference. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1705361

1. Yes, lots of us have experience with it.
2. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1705361- for uses. The range is very short. Practically touching.
3. NFC is listed on the battery so maybe it is in the battery.
4. A replacement battery prob won't work.
5. You can make a toggle tag so yes, 1st swipe turns x on, 2nd swipe turns x off.
6. Yes works with a very slim/skinny/ barely there case.
7. Don't know of metal or otter box would work. OB case may be too thick.
8. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1705361
9. Not sure.. try it and tell us.
10. Yes and yes.
11. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1705361
12. NFC tasker is a great program.

Questions

In a week I get my sgs2 back after swapping locally for an iPhone 4, we both have decided we prefer to swap back, mad I know, but a have a few questions I would like to ask while I am still locked inside this big apple.
1. I have read you can sort the overheating issue with some games by underclocking us this correct ?
2. When I used a car charger universal type, works fine with all my other mobiles, but on the sgs2 it constantly disconnects and reconnects and really doesn't charge it, I obviously have the wrong one, any advice on the correct one to buy?
3. Would like to buy a spare battery and charger, do the non genuine ones work ok?

Galaxy S2 Backs, also 5 minute root with no pc!

Hi All.
First off, a MASSIVE mention to Rachmat3 for his fantastic work on rooting the GS2 ICS with no PC or flashing required http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501719
Tested on Three UK official ICS, worked first time, in 3 minutes flat, all from my phone.
ANYWAY! back to the question in hand.
Does anyone have any good links / sites regarding Back plates for the GS2?
I don't mean cases, I mean the actual clip on battery covers, so fair I have only been able to locate the standard black / white ones, or a brushed aluminium one.
Are there any sites that supply a large variety of these?
NB: I have been searching XDA for 2 weeks for this info, and only found the aforementioned!
Thanks again!
You should probably look under the accesories section.

If u also search for a bit new form and not only style, then search for the 2000mh battery, it has a special back plate for it, so that the form is straight in hight of loudspeaker.
Maybe u r searching for something like this?!

[Q] Using NFC

Hey,
First I apologize if my English is not so clear, I'll try it to be clear.
I want to ask how i can use the NFC sensor?
For example, at work I open the door with my employee card. I am attaching the card to the sensor which is near door and it opens the door. I guess it works with NFC.
Is it possible to calibrate the phone to do the same thing? There is that possibility?
Tnx
like this:
youtube.com/watch?v=3CfDtQ5cDVw
In short Yes it can. But atm ive never heard of anyone developing an app to do so or explaining how.
in longer terms No. it depends very much on the door locks technology it can say its NFC but really mean its a RFID that uses a slightly different tech than NFC making the two incompatible because they cant communicate properly.
im not knowledge 100% on this but i am certain given a bit more time it will be doable easily.

My girlfriend Galaxy s2 is having a lot of problems

Hey Guys,
My girlfriend is having alot of problems with her phone lately.
It was turned off occusionaly during the day.
I've replaced the rom on her device and though it would fix it.
I bought the akku polarcell 1800mah for her because I had good experience
on the past with polarcell battery for my previous galaxy s1.
Guys I don't really know what to do and my girlfriend is counting on me to fix this ..
I told her to put some papar near the battery to have it better grip with the electricity circuit.
Maybe there is a Corrosion- how to fix this?
Guys,
Please let me know your input on this and how to solve this.
Looking forward for any input- thanks in advance.
All the best!
thanks you guys
Be nice and get her a new phone. Keep the S2 for your ownself. Problem solved!
You can't really fix corrosion, because it tends to spread slowly throughout the device over time. It depends on what's damaged, if you're lucky it might only be the USB board which is cheap to replace, if it's components on the motherboard then replacing that is more expensive, if it's through the whole phone it might even be a bin job because it's probably going to continue to get worse over time.
Only way to know for sure is to take it to someone qualified (I.E a mobile repair shop) & have them take a look.
Edit - Or...You could replace the USB board yourself & see how that goes. It's easy/quick/cheap (~US$10) to do yourself, search for KeithRoss39's guide in General (search for 'replacing USB charger board' or similar), and if you're lucky this solves the problem. If it doesn't, then you take it someone qualified for diagnosis (and in changing the USB board, as you're pulling the phone apart, you'll be able to see if/how much corrosion is there).
Thanks for the quick replies.
The issue is we don't want to invest money in this and would rather staying with the phone as it is if needed.
How can I make it better?
Any Idea?
Did you even read my post ?
You can't. It's obviously something hardware-wise going on. You can either take that advice & possibly fix the phone, or put up with it in its current state. There isn't anything 'easy' you can do.

Sooo... I soaked my Honor 7.

Hi!
To make a long story short, I got my phone nice and wet. After that the only thing that would work is the charging light and "utility" button(flashlight). I disassembled the thing and it had some oxidization goin on. I cleaned as best as I could....Assembled it back and it pretty much does the same thing. Only charges, flashlight works and it doesn't give me haptic feedback but I can browse the phones data storage on my pc...
The reason I'm posting is that do you guys have any insight/experience on similar stuff... I'm somewhat sure its the screen module(digitizer) that doesn't work?
Also, if you have bought those cheap ~30-40€ unbranded replacement modules...are they any good?
You might want to bring it to service center now if oxidation happens. I have a few experience with getting phones wet, but just wet and not soaked like yours. I just let them dry and they are working again.
