It's mean that the neccesary files had been changed, and it's stopped the updates. You should see which files that had been changed and get the replace it with the file from original stock. Typically the /system/build.prop; changed files or removed system files will interrupt the update.
Thank you.

Download the file I've published. The one you have is corrupted or wasn't downloaded from my thread.
Also, format your sdcard and try another computer. Your's may have a virus or a file verification app there's corrupting your files.
This have nothing to do with build.prop.
Cheers

I'm trying to install a mod from the online kitchen but all i get is:
Error in /sdcard/mymod.zip
(Status 0)
Installation aborted
Even if i make an other rom, install an other version of CWM or SU or when I try to install it from the internal sd it gives me the same error.
I also tried to flash a different kernel, but no succes.
Any suggestions?
Flash a new CWM and Root kernel.

you might have a corrupted download, redownload the mod.
tried both, didn't work... I also tried to rebuild the mod but still get the error.
I can flash other other zips through cwm...

strong suspect is your zip file containing the mod. did you try toggling signature verification?
Are you trying from Kitchen or from CWM..
Place on int.SD and flash manually from CWM,
if other files are flashed then definetely CWM is preventing you afrom a wrong flashing...
i've tried to change my batteryicons with this guide and that works:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434061
But i want to do it via the UOT kitchen, because i want the lockscreen mod too.
This is what i did:
I've uploaded framework-res, twframework-res, systemui and applied the battery mod and the lockscreen mod, nothing else. Then I clicked submit to kitchen, downloaded the zip and flashed it to my device throuw cwm, and i got error 0.
Should i try other scripting in UOT?
maybe i'm stupid but can it also be that i'm on stock rom (rooted) ics 4.0.3 xen lp7?
Hey,
If you check their official XDA Thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=990829
You will notice (In the second post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12049814&postcount=2) that it is only compatible with Froyo/Gingerbread Roms.
You can't use it with ICS mate, and this is probably why you are getting the error while trying to flash it.
and what about this line:
Battery mod for ICS roms (NEW!)
i also tried to do the battery mod only, but still get the error
same problem with u

Hello I am having the same problem, could you solve yours?
Please let me know how did you do.

Hi XDA,
I'm using dsixda's Kitchen, trying to edit a stock rom (LFB-i9300).
I got everything extracted, but I had to remove the .md5 extension of the stock rom and I had to rename system.img to factoryfs.img, else Kitchen wouldn't recognize the rom. I think something went wrong in this process of getting the rom recognized. I loaded the rom and I chose to add in root, busybox and I de-odexed the files (I chose Api level 14, this is the right one for 4.0.4, right?).
Then I build the rom, zipaligned and signed it and then I moved the zip to my i9300. Then I get this error when I'm trying to flash the rom:
*Installing update...*
E:Error in /emmc/m0_signed_071212_225202.zip (Status 0)
*Installation aborted.*
I know the i9300 isn't officially supported but I was told Kitchen would also work with the i9300.
Btw, when extracting factoryfs.img and the file for CSC, Kitchen said something about crc32 problems, it expected something different than it calculated.
I hope someone could help me solve this problem.
Regards,
dejong12
did you check updater-script file?

Flash rom again.. after getting the error, go to advanced>report error..
Then reboot your device... you will find a recovery.log file in clockworkmod directory of your sdcard...
There you can spot the error...

Ok, I tried to rebuild the zip, but I want to make sure, do I have to create that map in the root folder of the zip? And is the name with or without parenthesis?
I am in the process of upgrading to the 4.03.605.1 rom posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1830859, but I am having issues with the firmware upgrade package. My computer says the zip is corrupted, and the phone will not read it. Has anyone else had issues, or have a resolution? I checked the md5sums and they match.
Thanks

Yea I tried to download it a few different times, and tried from other websites too (which just link back to the same files). Had to put a recovery back on my phone so I could use it again after hours of trying to find the solution.
Anyone else have any ideas?

you can get the global ruu right here.....http://bit.ly/RaKEAr
Thank you! Does this file contain both the firmware and the OS update? I was able to download the OS update just fine on the other page, just not the firmware.
Appreciate the help!
Actually - that zip file contains the same error as the other link. Anyone know of a different location of a non-corrupted file?

Try the update to the global RUU. Found one on AndroidPolice but can't post link here yet. Just google androidpolice global ruu
Android zip files need 7zip if you want to look inside it.
Also check that you aren't renaming it as ph98img.zip.zjp because windows hides the file type by default.
So this was a two part issue! #1) post above was right about winzip not being able to handle the file.
Second issue was that I did not have the bootloader re-locked, which is required for this kind of update. I came from the tbolt which didnt require locking & unlocking.

Hey guys
I tried to change the ROM from my chinese Mi Box to the US version with a guide
But I made something wrong and ended up in the stock-recovery
luckily I was able to update the Box from the recovery with a update.zip (which is for the MDZ-19-AB US version)
Everything worked fine, but I was greedy and wanted to update with the same procedure to Android TV 8.0 and I soft-bricked the device but I can still get into the recovery
I tried to go back to Android TV 7.0 with the update.zip but the update checks if ("ro.product.device") is equal to "once" which was "once" but after the 8.0 update is somehow empty
I even tried tho unbrick it with a guide and the USB burning tool but that doesnt work either
I tried to take the update.zip remove the check form the updater-script and zip it and even sign it (with multiple different tools) but I am unable to get it working (either "footer is wrong" or "failed to verify whole-file signature" error comes up)
TL/DR: Can someone take the update.zip remove the check for the device in the updater script(first line), zip and sign it properly so I can update it with the stock-recovery?
it seems like I am unable to do it myself
please PM me if you can help I'n not allowed to add outside-links :crying:

I guess with the "update method" you mean just edit the file in the archive without extracting and repacking.
I tried with WinRAR and 7-zip, I tried editing it inside the archive and saving the changes, I tried extracting editing and repacking it, I even edited the MANIFEST.MF to the new SHA-1 value of the update-script but I only get "failed to verify whole-file signature"
I thought it was enough if I sign my update.zip with the Android testkeys isn't that possible?
