XT910 Stuck on 2.3.5 - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hi guys,
First of all, I'm not an android tech guru, however I've been searching around on both google and xda developers for some time and haven't been able to find any info on this, and now that ICS is rolling out, I would really love to get this problem fixed.
So here we go:
My phone(XT910) is currently running Android version 2.3.5 and when I go under settings and press System Updates, it says that no update is currently available for my phone. However as far as I can tell it should be able to update to 2.3.6 which has been out for some time. Even after a factory reset, no updates are available. I'm using a Danish carrier called Telia DK.
Here is some information from my system info's panel, hopefully some of might prove useful:
System Version:
651.73.30.XT910.NonEFIGSRetail.en.EU
Model number:
XT910
Android version:
2.3.5
Baseband version:
U_03.1C.85P
Weptop version:
WT-2.0.0-113
Kernel version:
[email protected]#1
Build date:
Wed Dec 7 22:22:14 CST 2011
Hopefully one of you guys will be able to help me I would love to able to try out ICS!

hi,
first of all, i don't really know if there's a NonEFIGS 2.3.6 update for EU. But for Danish usage you could flash your phone to the RETAIL version of 2.3.5
you should do this:
root your phone via ZergRush
flash the RETAIL (use the unbranded en.EU) via RSD Lite (protect root before doing this via OTA Rootkeeper from Play Store)
check for updates
there should be some 2.3.6 update available.
After the 2.3.6 update you're free to update to any eu GSM ICS ROM posted in RAZR DEV section

No ICS in DK or the rest of Europe yet. There's a thread in general.

Thank you so much! I flashed to a EU retail 2.3.6 and then to a EU ICS ROM! It runs SO much better now except the battery drains a bit faster, however I guess thats normal Thank you!

I'm in a similar situation with the phone stuck in NonEFIGS Retail 2.3.5, except I don't live in EU at all
Anyway, I need to do this step too. So you flashed to normal EU retail 2.3.5, update to 2.3.6, then find a EU ICS (which one) and flashed that?

I suggest Epsilon Project v4 ICS, which has superb battery performance, see the link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1734893
1. Start by installing the fastboot file
SPDREM_U_01.6.7.2-180_SPU-19-TA-11.2_SIGNEuropeAustraliaEMEA_USASPDRICSRTGB_HWp2b_Service1FF_fastboot.xml.zip
You can find this file on the link
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_spyder/list.php
2. Install 676.226.3.en.EU (For Retail EU) ICS Leak [UPDATE]
See link

[Q] Latam Vivo ROM seems to be out

Hi all folks!
Anyone is on 2.3.5 Latam Vivo ROM?
Well, I'm on software update now and razr is looking for an update a few minutes already. Curious, I went to motorola website and finally there were an update software for Vivo Razr XT910.
Look: http://direct.motorola.com/PRL/SoftwareUpdateSummary.asp?country=BRA&language=PRL&web_page_name=SUPPORT&strCarrierId=Vivo&strPhone=XT910 - RAZR&strCable=Micro USB Data Cable&strURL=No URL
I'm in a buggy retail.br rom seted by motorola services. Yep, motorola has changed firmware version, and messed up.
Hope anyone can give a feedback about this.
Good luck!
Nobody?
Sent from my XT910 using Tapatalk
yesterday, i tried to download the update, with this rom
6.5.1_73_SLC-25_SIGNLATAM_USASPYRETBRLA_P016_P019_A013_A014_HWp 2b_CFC_fastboot.xml.zip
and this rom
6.5.1-73_SLC-ME6.2_SIGNLATAM_USASPYDVIVBRB1B2B5B8B8LA022.0R_USA SPYVIVBR0LA_P007_A009_HWp2b_CFC_fastboot.xml.zip
and nothing happens, the program says that i have already the latest firmware, and then reboot the phone, i tried with the about phone menu, system updates too, is all the same, maybe you can download the ota file for us and put it here for testing purposes.
I tried here, it shows just an update in motocast, nothing special.
no upadates
I was using RETAIL ROM there was no update, and them i flashed VIVO's ROM, and no update available!

I think it was retrieved from OTA release. I got this update notice, visited motorola website, and found the update tool to Vivo phones. I''m stuck in retail.br rom replaced by motorola services and couldn''t grabb OTA file. Anyway, keep watching that and thanks.

For me there was nothing in OTA, only found the update to motocast using software updater.
So is the Br.retail the most neglected version of the Razr? Neglected by Motorola, I mean. I have this phone for 2 months and no update has shown up.
I have a weak Wifi connection problem.

Yep. No update yet, but we will have one soon. :"Thanks

What are you talking about?
There are at least 4 BR versions of Razr software:
1. Retail original that did came with the phone (i don't know the numbering, someone please confirm) - we don't have the files for this. It came installed on the phone.
2. Retail update from MSU:
Branding: RETAIL en.BR
Market Segment: LATAM
Version: 651.73.250
3. Vivo original that came with the phone (i think it was 651.73.240) - we don't have the files for this. It came installed on the phone.
4. Vivo update from MSU (651.73.2062):
Branding: Vivo en.BR
Market Segment: LATAM
Version: 651.73.2062
5. It seems like there is an original AmericanMovil version (maybe without an update?)
The updates were available long time ago, but after we started discussing about it on XDA, they removed the option for Brazil on their website. Now it is back, and also MotoCast says that there is an update available.
I believe the available updates are these ones we already have on XDA for long time.

[Q] Upgrading to EU from Asia ROM 2.3.5

Hi guys,
I've just got my Razr and I'm new to this forum. Up till now I used to own an HTC Desire, so I am fairly familiar with the Android ROM flashing process. However, there are some differences with the Razr, so I am asking you for advice in order not to mess things at such an earlier point.
Basically, what I want to know is this: I've got a phone with a 65.1.12.XT910.PSHAAsiaRetail.en.03 system version. I would like to move to an EU firmware, if possible - found the EternityProject page and got this 651.167.20 RETAIL en.EU EuropeAustraliaEMEA. Should I flash it with with RSD before applying the OTA update Blur_Version.999.999.999.Retail.en.EU (Ice Cream Sandwich)?
Actually, should I install the ICS OTA at all, or stick with a 2.3.7?
Thanks!

[Q] Questions About Rooting (NEWBIE)

First, i would like to thank those who will help me with my questions.
Second, here are my questions:
1-If i root my Razr XT910 to Stock EU region OR US(Currently having Asia), will i still be able to get updates from google or motorola ?
2-If i root my Razr XT910 to Stock EU or US, will i be able to get the OFFICIAL upgrade to ICS ?
3-Will i still be able to use my SIM CARD (T-Mobile) if i change my ROM from Asia to EU ?
4-Have Anyone did this before ?
5-Is there a chance that i will DESTROY my Razr XT910 if i do this ?
Thank you again ! Dont forget to help ! this is my first ANDROID phone !
I decided to get something different thatn the IPhone.....
EDIT: i am currently using 2.3.6 and the system version is 65.1.40.XT910.PSHAsiaRetail.en.03

I am pretty sure you can't flash a new rom to change device region - if you try it you will probably brick your device - to get updates all you have to do is RSD back to stock, then download the update - same with ICS.

Change ROM from ME to Asia

My current Motorola System version is 65.1.40.XT910.MERetail.en.06 <- Gingerbread
I had purchased this from Middle East. I would like to change my ROM so that my phone will be identical to a brand new phone purchased from India. After reading some posts, it seems gingerbread version of Asia ROM is Blur_Version.65.1.40.XT910.AsiaRetail.en.03
Also after reading the first post on this thread -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840296
Europe, Asia, PSHAsia and ME shares same region signature verification (ODD: you can flash any of the ROMs between it)
Click to collapse
My question is whether I can flash the asia version over ME version using the normal flash method? And if yes, once I do it, will my motorola give me OTA update notifications meant for an Asia ROM? More specifically, ICS has been released for India Roms, but not on ME roms, will I get ICS once I change my region to Asia?
I am not very used to Motorola ROM flashing. Have only used samsung phones in the past. Hence need a little clarification.
Thanks
Yes to all the questions. You can flash Asia ROMs and you should get update when Motorola release it.
Cheers

As ya saying ya razr system version is from Canada (rogers.en.cn) , most probably ya can't flash Asian version fastboot on it unless ya don't erase ya cid .
Motorola had locked the bootloader to downgrade or flashing different region fastboot .
Ya can even use rogers.cn fastboot files in Pakistan without any issues .
Just look out for the appropriate fastboot files and flash in forum , remember once ya upgrade there is no way to go back yo ics.
Hit the thx button if i helped ya in anyways

the only firmwares that will work on that phones are Rogers and LATAM (Latin America) fastboot files. can't use asian, EU, or american (they're not even GSM).
if you simply want to get rid of Rogers stuff, you can:
1. root, install Titanium Backup, remove the bloatware, change the boot animation.
2. flash LATAM generic firmware. find them in RAZR development forums.
just remember, once you go JB, you can't go back to ICS.

yes, only LATAM as far as i know. u can try different ones, like EU or Asia, but u gotta tweak the file abit (stuff about changing CID or something).
XT910's firmwares: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_spyder/list.php
but again, check out RAZR"s development forum (this is RAZR QA forum) for updated list.
find LATAM Retail and they're mostly ICS (if not all). the JB ones are posted in the sticky in the RAZR Dev forum.
guide: google "RAZR xt910 fastboot". super easy. use RSD Lite.
Root on JB: yes, but through Linux only.
LATAM is LATAM. Rogers is Rogers. Fido is Fido. wth is your question supposed to mean? LOL - if you flash your Rogers phone with LATAM, it will be identical as if you buy that phone in, say, Argentina....
there's no "generic". there is a DEV firmware out there, but its untested for XT910 and not recommended. LATAM retail is as generic as you can get.
also, my Rogers JB now has better battery than Rogers ICS or CM10.1. only D-Trail's D-Wiz ICS can beat it. it just takes a while in JB for the phone to recognize your usage.

Look out into this thread it is super thread of ics firmwares .i hope it would work on ya
