Never pull out the battery at that state. I Think its bricked

Well if you ever come beck then try this. If you haven't already installed the drivers for your phone onto your computer do it now. Plug your phone into your your computer do you get a light or try to plug it into charger if you get a light it's not bricked. What you want to do if it's not bricked is run a ruu on it.
No Light :'(
Would htc cover this and send a replacment or will i need to buy a new phone ?
Telling them you tried using custom ROMs wouldn't get a repair,... You could say you were just doing a "restore to factory settings" and your battery died. Its worth a try.
Okay thAnks i migjt try and say it ran out of battery updating to the new 2.1 because personaly i think its slughtly mire belivable what do you think, also just in case i was looking for new android phines kind of off topic here but has anyone seen the samsung beam i mean wow its a projector shame i hate the ui and xda doesnt have it
Oh also i forgot is there anything to unbrick it , like a pandoras battery and magic mem stick ( dw if youvdont know what it is.but it csn be used to unbrick a psp and works even though i went through six psp s in a year lol
Yes say that once it is officially released for your region.
You could check the dream and magic forums to see if they ever recover any bricked handsets?

[Q] xperia not turning on

Hey.my xperia x10 battery's was low so to save battery i shut it down.Afterward i put it on charging and it wasn't charging nor turning on..even the led was not working..phone was completely dead..then i plugged the battery in universal charger and it was charging.I let the battery charge for 6-7 hours then put it back on phone it was still not turning on...i also tried to hard reset the phone but it didn't work.Any suggestions??
Reinstall the firmware, but only when your sure the charger charged the battery, otherwise that could brick your X10, when the battery runs out while flashing the device.

How do reinstall firmware?
Sorry to hear about this issue. A bit strange that the battery will charge but only with this 3rd party charger. Have you tried to connect a different micro-USB charger to the phone just to make sure that your Sony Ericsson charger (the one that came with the phone) is not the problem?
Anyway, to fix this you should first try what Flo95 is suggesting.
Download Update Service for this, go to sonyericsson dot com /updateservice.
(I'm new here so I can't post links yet.)
Make sure to charge the battery before you put it back into the phone.
The phone must be powered off during the whole update process so the fact that you can't turn it on right now does hopefully not mean that you cannot update/reinstall the software.
If this won't help or if this can't be performed, you should ask your dealer to send the phone to a repair center since the problem might be hardware related.
Hope this helps!

Barking up the wrong tree qwer23.
Markus is in the "Answers" section. Where strangely enough...They answer questions about hardware issues and SE updating. Not modding, tweaking or de-installation to more streamlined Android versions.

Amaze Bricked

---See Update below at end of this post---
The phone was running fine till yesterday however it got discharged. Upon reaching home, I put the phone on charge forgot to turn it on. I remember the orange light on phone was on. About 2 hours later, I noticed that there was no notification light. I tried to turn on the phone but it didn't turn on
I removed the battery and tried again, the same thing. I put the charger cable back in, the orange light blinked a couple of time and it became steady orange. Tried to turn the phone on again and the light again went off. I tried the same thing over and over its the same result. I connected the phone to windows, its detected as qhsusb_dload and need drivers for it. I've searched around xda for it, I've found it means the phone is bricked for phones having qualcomm chipset, but the strange thing is it usually happens because of bad flash. My phone was running fine without any problems for past couple of weeks and I hadn't had flashed anything for last 2-3 days, I don't know what went wrong
Any idea how should I proceed ?
I bought my phone from eBay about 3 weeks back. I'm thinking of contacting the eBay seller and ask if they have tmobile warranty for it?
The other thing I could do is purchase squaretrade warranty and ask them for a repair 45 days later.
But I don't know, I had unlocked the bootloader and installed a custom ROM on it (although I was on stock kernel). Do you guys think, HTC or squaretrade will honor the warranty on it ? I know the second option is kind of immoral, but i dont want to lose $400 I just spent
--- UPDATE 03/31 ---
I got the replacement battery from HTC, using it my phone started. Later on, I changed to X's touch recovery and kernel to Faux 009 and guess what I was able to revive my dead battery also by charging via phone itself... I dont know where the bug lied exactly as somebody mentioned at other place the stock kernel in NRGZ thread is different from tmo stock and causing problems. My guess is bad recovery though as the CWM 5.0.2.6 for Amaze here doesn't support off charging...
--- UPDATE 04/05 ---
Member andy55 confirmed this bug is due to bad recovery and the stock kernel itself is fine.
I would suggest everyone to not use official CWM 5.0.2.6 recovery. Rather switch to Xboarder56's version of ClockworkMOD 5.5.0.4 or Touch 5.8.0.9 RC2
If a mod can put this above information in the reference thread for Amaze..It would save a lot of potential probs in Amaze's in here

Yes, I know its the most strange thing ever happened.
Do you or anybody know if sensation battery works on it. My room mate has a sensation I can ask him for his battery and try it out
sounds like the same thing that happened to my backup amaze. I swapped batteries and the same issue was affecting the other one, so its the battery. One of my amaze's is rooted rom'd etc and the other is stock, and the same issue affected the stock one, so its not a brick.
Good time to upgrade to an anker

HTC also replaces any accessory once, you could call and they'd probably send you a free battery.
I just got another back cover from them, since my old one was creaking.
To Discharge the battery, you could get a couple led lights and tape them to the + and - terminals of the battery and just let it die.
Radioshack has leds.
Probably not the easiest way... But it would work.

I tried to shorten it using just a simple wire and connecting the positive and negative terminals..however it doesn't seem to be doing anything
Already gotten the back cover myself..now I have both black and white covers
Will they send out second accessory also ?
I think they will send as many accessories just as you only ask for one of each. That's what it said on the paper they sent in the mail.

With your phone being s-on, you can't technically brick your phone. So as long as it's a hardware failure, and you don't have s-off and haven't been holding out on us you should be fine.

If you have a qsb_load brick caused in any way, plz try to identify your phones emmc like they did here in the link for the sensation in a Linux environment. You can only access this mode on a bricked phone.
I think we may be able to s-off using a version of this method. Ultimately intentionally bricking a phone and achieve installing a cracked boot loader and s-off.

Ok, I went through the thread to make out, what they are trying to do, however, without much success...
I couldn't find the pin they use on sensation to ground it to SD card frame, to put it in download mode. See the image attached, its kind of different from sensation. Also I can't find it any instructions for Linux environment, its mostly windows based (drivers and software). Can you point out the post or do a write up ? I have a mac with me, I'm guessing it would be same for os X also..
Anyway I don't know, if I should be doing all this...since I plan to RMA the phone to HTC incase it doesn't work with new battery.
However, if its indeed battery related and it does work with new battery, what I can do is ship you the battery which causes the brick. You can try the things on your Amaze, if you want to...since you seem better technically sound than me

HTC Sensation Battery DOES work in the Amaze.
Independent battery charger DOES work as well.
I use Anker battery 1900 mAh from Amazon.
I use an external charger also found on Amazon (white- about $10).

Warranty. Tell your provider you woke up and it was like that.
Maybe try charging your battery? I've read stories where the battery was dead, had to charge for like 6 hours before phone responded. I know, simple but you never know... good luck to you!

This same thing happened to me with my GSII last month. Don't worry- as long as it's within the 1yr warranty, Samsung WILL fix it for free
Just give them a call & explain what happened. They'll email you a paid shipping label so you can send it to them, and you should get it back within a couple weeks tops. Turnaround time is pretty good, I think I had my phone back within 10 days.
Curoius what rom and kernel where you using? just in case I see this again?
Agreed ....the rom info would be good ...g
I was using the latest PA at the time 25th I think and DaG's Xa kernel. Going to hit up samsung here soon. I am on a ****ty mytouch 3g slide right now.
First thing to try is to get battery out of phone and charge with external chargers, ( external battery travel charger) , which might give battery new life.
If not, go to Samsung, we all are in warranty as its not been year yet for Galaxy Note in North America. And not to worry about custom Rom, bcoz phone is dead.

BTW if anyone was wondering randomly one day I pulled out my phone and put it on the charger and it started charging. Thats how I fixed my phone.

Help/advice needed

I am running wanamlite 14.3 (didn't want to upgrde to 14.4 due to getting use to the ROM).
Recently I found that the UK lotto app I use uninstals after a reboot or power off/on. I contacted the developer and he said to contact google, as the issue was out of his control.
However, I used T Backup and made the app a system app, that seemed to have done the trick as the app doesn't uninstal now.
Yet, aside from this problem often when trying to access my camera, the camera app will freeze and become unresponsive and after several reboot will then only work.
Also, after a full recharge the phone sporadically discharges to fast (after1hour of browers use) and/or over-heat causing the phone to turn off automagically.
All of these issues have been occuring over the last 3-4weeks.
I am unsure what if any relation to one another this has and why, as I haven't downloaded any new apps.
Advice and guidance would be appreciated, to resolve these issues.
Regards

Can you suggest a stock type ROM? or are you suggesting to go back to my out of the box ROM?
The reason I ask is that my original stock-ware was Gingerbread and I'm now on JB, and I was earlier told I cannot go back to GB (or it's hard to). I do have a nandroid backup both of my original stock-ware and one related to my current ROM (once I configured my apps and setup etc, after the original flash).

ICS XWLP7->very good battery and performance
JB XWLSS ->better performance,JB,lower battery
I recommend these firmwares. You can download both from Sammobile,or search on XDA.I personally don't recommend GB.The choice is on you,JB or ICS.
Only go back to GB if you must.I use GB as I think ics/jb are battery eaters. This is a pic of what I got when I went from jb>gb.

Well after my initial posting my battey failed. I'm sure it's the battery and not something on or happening to my phone. I hope.
Battery charged to 100% disconnected charger, phone ran down to about 90% and switched off!!
Will only switch on when connected to charger.
I am away from the UK so looked to buy a new battery.
I am now on the 2nd reconditioned battery, I say this as it's obvious that somebody has been tampering with the battery (looks and feels empty [no cells] and the battery feels flimsy/empty to hold). I can only assume it's reconditioned, as the wrap around samsung label peels back to easy. Tried a similar battery on Sat; it charged to 100% then switched off completely at 50% and needed to be plugged-in/recharged, the battery indicator displayed 0%!!
I took the battery back and went to another store after a refund, only to buy a similar feeling and looking battery. I can only assume samsung don't distribute here hence fake **** everywhere.
However, when using the phone all apps worked and it felt speedy(er), I guess.
Just a question: can something on my phone be causing this battery killer or its all down to fake batteries, I know my q sounds daft given the obvious physical fake battery appearance but I just wondered if anything on a smart phone can kill a genuine battery in such way? My original battery was just over 2yrs old came with the s2 new on launch.
(FYI, I do use a battery calibration app when changing batteries and roms).
Off to get a refund for this 2nd battery (same problems with the 1st one) and then into the near city to find a genuine battery (fingers crossed).

Recon battery. Omg you tight sod. . You pay for what you get and you got crap. Take it to cop shop and report them for selling fake rubbish. Money Bk? Me id rather go cop shop and at least try and help others from buying rubbish. If it don't look real it not real. Sam have high standards crappy little shops don't.
tight??? hahah nah just where I am on holiday here's no real avenue to buy genuine so I tried the 2nd best option (thought they'd last at least a couple of months, if that, never thought it would be scaled in days.. a day!!
Finally tracked down a genuine battery, inserted battery it was 52% charged on insertion I've had it on standby and small use for the last 2hrs and its down to 44%. Not bad given I haven't charged it yet or calibrated it.
At least I know it's genuine!
