Amaze source code - HTC Amaze 4G

Just checked HTCDev and they released all 4 Canadian 4.0 source codes BUT not the T-Mobile version. This is really annoying me.

Well that's stupid... Why are the source codes releasing for every other carrier except T-Mobile?? Also do other the Canadian Carrier Source Codes lack the same stuff as the Telus source code?

I would like to check for myself to see the source zips and look around them

T-Mobile do you insist on pissing us off?

Wind mobile will be virtually identical to tmo.. I'd think they use tmobile and modify that to get their own..

Could the reson HTC is reluctant to release the source code for T-Mobile a result of our phones being able to work on AT&Twith full 4G? I mean I don't know anything about the source code and how it all works but in my mind I am thinking there is something in the code that if found and exploited , would allow our phones to run on AT&T whithout thier sim cards.

This device can already run on their network with full hspa+ without that, just that AT&T doesn't have a 42mbps network so the speeds aren't as impressive, if this device had lte, then that would be another story.

I personally never saw any feature or capability difference across the various provider stock roms and I'm yet to hear any user complain about losing features after switching to TMO based roms, so I don't get why we specifically need Tmo source when we have the source for all the other providers, does tmo get the missing drivers that we still seem to be missing? They didn't last source release, so my hope is somewhat feign on us getting it this time, though I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I wish I had time outside work to look at coding... but no time right now
anyways, the wireless drivers are found in ruby-ics-crc-3.0.16-a4fb83c\drivers\net\wireless
not sure if it's all present or not

huh?!! the kernel 4.0 source code was released long time ago already. That is how Faux hacking the ICS kernel and has been improving it.

We know. HTC released it for other carriers. That is the point of this thread.

the other 4.0 source codes for sensation and one series as well were released too (t-mobile of course). is that any help for our amaze?
And there is something strange.. I think all new sources are identical as their links are all the same link.. And if there is any difference between them, it must be between the telus one and the others. I'll download and look for any difference.

sorry shoulda posted this to its own thread someone pointed out the source in the 'new approach to get htc to listen' the other day...
what i said over there:
they all appear to have the same file name and come from the same folder on the web server, yet they have different version numbers displayed on the page.. is this some trickery of the web server serving up the files from a temp location or are they actually all the exact same file..
ran comp at command prompt on two of them and they appear to be the same.. thats.. odd isn't it?

I'm sorry but have to disagree with you there. Saying what you are going to do and actually doing it are two very different things. I can say I'm going to give you a thousand dollars but until I actually give it to you, what I say means nothing. When we have an HTC unlocked bootloader on our phones, then we can say HTC kept their part of the deal. Until then it's just lip service. Even if they do 'keep their end of the deal', there's still plenty of room for corporate shenanigans. Don't get me wrong, I think they ARE working on something. However, as has been mentioned by several members of our own dev community, there are easier, faster and more direct ways to get this project done and HTC has deliberately avoided these methods. I am worried that the something that HTC is working on will not be quite what we want and expect. Sure they may give us the koolaid but we might not like the flavor.
I think that what facebook poster Jerome is alluding to is correct. It can't possibly take that long (September) to just unlock the bootloader. S-OFF bootloaders already exist and have been around since the beginning. We know that they work. This is not a new tech that HTC needs to develop. I think the wait has more to do with corporate politics, legal wrangling and bureaucracy along with a healthy dose of ifs, ands, and buts than any technical or distribution issue. I also suspect that when we do finally see these unlocked bootloaders, we will have to hold our noses to install them as they will likely come with some inpalatable strings attached that we will be forced to agree to in order to use them.
That's why I really hope the dev community here can get it done before HTC finishes their 'pageantry'. I know the XDA community will give it to us straight-no additives or preservatives. Even if they can't, I still appreciate their efforts as I know they will have tried their best. Finding a way around HTC's new security is a very tall order! But if they do manage to pull it off, the glory and satisfaction of winning they would snatch from HTC would be marvelous!

Hey guys-
I've been trying to unlock the boot loader for my Sprint evo 3d on my Macbook Pro... lame I know. I'm at the point where in Terminal I have entered the directory for rootevo3dnew, but I cannot get the token code. Do any of you know how to solve this? Thanks

GSM has been unlocked on sprint branded Photon 4g!

Special thanks to Miniassasin23 for doing the testing. I don't have a sim card to test with, and when i test my stuff it often results in my devices being inoperable for long periods of time, and they normally aren't spares either. Utter chaos....

That is the correspondence, post the pictures in a reply to this thread if you want Miniassasin I'd like to see them. Once again thanks, and I'll send you what should be a much more stable kernel that I built last night as soon as you give me an e-mail.
What does this mean now? For anyone who has been wanting to jump ship with their photon, it means you should soon be able to. An alpha release will be posted as soon as I pump a build out that I feel is stable enough (and works well enough) to responsibly distribute. I did a build last night that is untested currently, so if it tests well, the alpha release could be available within 24-48 hours on these boards.
The recommended release will be more for the devs then for the users as it will basically be a demonstration that the GSM code has been isolated and is portable, mine will be the latest stock kernel with GSM unlocked, but I intend to release it with a patch for devs to use to add that functionality to any of their non-stock kernels.
Do you have any proof other then a forum post?

[Q] ICS ROM question.

Are there any ICS CDMA ROMs or ROM/Kernel combos that aren't having the data bug? (I know about the toggling airplane mode on/off several times workaround) I was running the CM9 alpha using stock kernel and I missed a few important phone calls one evening about a month ago. I haven't really looked around since. (Functional camera is a non-issue since my camera is busted.)
Miui V4 data was working right out of the gate and I don't remember having too many issues with signal/data with that ROM.
I'm on good 'ol CM7 for now for stability and battery life.
EDIT: the stock kernel works fine, or you can use Taimat's newest one for the EVO 3D CDMA (do a quick Google search). I was running AnthraX as well at one point.
I have been using toastcfh's new CM9 build for a couple of hours now, and I haven't seen any dropouts of 3G. I would get them all the time in other builds. Of course only time will tell, but it looks good so far. I also agree with G.Newton, MIUIv4 has not had the 3G problem that I am aware of, and I ran that for a few weeks.
Thanks guys. I guess I'll check into MIUI 4. What's Toast's newest CM9 build?

Frustrated with what?
The fact that the Sensation, despite being "less of a phone" than ours, is getting more love from HTC, HTC is being doucheboxes about releasing updates or source for the updates we already have, Chad got trolled almost completely out of existance, etc. I was developmentally spoiled because I came from the OG EVO and it just seems like HTC is taking a piss on the owners of the 3D.

Are you a dev? I think those are the only people that have the right to get frustrated. We are given all roms, mods, tools, kernels, etc for FREE. If HTC is slow to release source so what, are you going to dev on the source? Sounds like you're frustrated because a new ROM isn't put out every few days. With what we have, our devs have accomplished A LOT. If you bought the 3D (or any phone) for dev support.. HA. You should buy a phone if you like it just the way it is, and any development on it is just icing on the cake. HTC will release source/update in due time. In the meantime, patience. I'm sorry that you were spoiled but please don't complain about **** we already know.
Wow. You done? You made plenty of assumptions there without asking any questions or seeking more information and then blasted me for being frustrated at a phone while also insinuating that I am ungrateful toward developers. I don't expect anything from the developers, given they're clearly working with no support from HTC, and I know they give away their ROMs/mods/kernels/etc while asking for nothing in return. I do expect, however, to not be belittled by somebody for expressing a feeling. Thanks for your insight bro.
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
People are forgetting what message boards are for. It's for voicing opinions, providing information, heck anything. Who isn't frustrated with HTC right now? That's one reason why these forums exist so we can vent our frustrations with HTC and see what we can do to put pressure on them. I get so tired of people saying "keep it to yourself" because if that was the case, this site's traffic would greatly reduce and trust me, I know xda doesn't want that. Now I do agree that complaining about devs shouldn't be done period.
Now, back to the topic at hand. I can confirm that the latest toashcfh build of CM9 with the stock kernel does not appear to have the data bug I initially asked about.

Lot of good things said about that build. Sorry man, but you said the keywords "developmentally spoiled" and proceeded with a frustrated comparison to the Evo 3G. That sounds like complaining, but no need for me to have gone there with ya brah. Yes, we, especially the devs are all frustrated.
We as the consumer want the update free and fast, while HTC needs to make money therefore they like it slow. A good business relationship is a middle ground between HTC and the end-consumer.
If data and signal cuts out ever, and toggling doesn't work, *#*#4636#*#* > Phone info > change radio and you should have signal. Then toggling brings back data.

HTC Bootloader Unlock

I take no credit for anything. but just wanted to post this here in case there is something involved that will help the Dev's in getting the bootloader unlocked faster. Apparently this should work on any device that can use HTC's unlock method.
DEV's, maybe there is something here or atleast this guy who created would be able to help......
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24370319#post24370319
They are probably going to wait till sprint gets theirs released so HTC wont patch it real fast before release.
I'm sceptical about moving from locked BL to another. I'm using the epic now but had the photon before that and motorola just killed the rom experience for me with super encrypting the 4G keys.
That being said I believe the One X folks are still having issues with kernels and the temp partition directory
Definitely will be on the lookout. over/under on root for EVO LTE? 4 Days after launch?
To be honest, don't think it will even take that long if the bootloader isn't locked down. Some of these devs seem to work magic with how fast the *hit comes out.
A root method using htcdev unlock I say 90 mins after one of the devs gets it hooked up to a computer to check partitions, and update cwm and a create a superuser.zip that can be flashed, A root method not using HTC unlock I am thinking by the 21st so 3 days.
S-off I am not so sure on, but hoping that support document about the phone being in non user mode and describing how it got in said mode may help

It's using HTC'S Unlock Tool. It still just unlocks your bootloader but leaves you S-On. As I figured and stated in the main thread I figured our phone would be unlockable with their tool. As history has shown every other Sprint phone is unlockable. People were getting worried cause AT&T's One X wasn't. Every other One X was unlockable and AT&T is notorious for locking their phones so this was expected.

How is the development? Might trade for my HTC One X.

Right now the HTC one x development is pretty slow, and while I do have a great ROM I always love getting new devices and flashing new ROMs. I love having a lot of ROMs to cater to my flash addiction. Is this phones development going to last awhile? I know there will be a new note that will come up soon, and I don't want to be left behind. Has anybody don't this switch? Greg hit the mark with his reply, the note is a unique beast externally but all of Samsungs high end lte line of phones are fundamentally the same internally. This bodes well for an extended development cycle.
One quick question about the HTC One X. Samsung has been pretty good with source code releases, what is the current experience with HTC? Do you find them forth coming with source code and drivers. If that has been the case, what other factor(s) do you think could account for the HTCs One X lackluster rom development?
The hardware your phone carries is high end, impressive specs; I would have thought developers were all over it.

We waited about 2 months to finally get a source code released. During this time period all members of the HOX community were sending ATT emails and constantly bombing their facebook mostly for the fact that our Bootloader was locked, and HTC stated they will provide official Bootloader unlocks on every phone they will release. Well HTC still hasn't kept up their promise and for new comers it's very hard to join the dev community because with the recent update there is no bootloader or root exploit. With the recent source code release I would like to think that development would be booming but I'm completely wrong. The code we got released wasn't even a full source code, but instead half. And to make matters worse it's already outdated, because the source that was released was 4.0.3 and we are on 4.0.4 now. The only bugs that we have been able to fix with the source code is Multi-touch on AOKP roms (thank god it really borked gaming on this device :good: ) We have one kernel that is released but it's not able to be used on a lot of ROM's because it's set on the old base, but everybody is on 4.0.4 now. The dev's are really working hard on making this phone the best they can, but HTC is making it very very difficult. The international version has a lot of dev support because of how powerful this phone can be. But I guess ATT is behind keeping back the updated source and an official BL unlock which makes me mad
The phone itself though is great. The screen is spectacular and I'd even go as far to say it's the best I've seen on a mobile device. The processor is very quick, and when I did have it overclocked to 2.1 ghz it reacted very well and I still got excellent battery life. My average battery life right now is about 3 hours of screen on time. I'm on CM9 ATM because it's the best vanilla experience we have. Hopefully that answers all your questions guys!
