Since you bought it before it was released in the US, Sony US are not held responsible for warranty claims.
You should send it back for warranty in the country of purchase or claim warranty from the seller you bought it from.

I bricked my TG01 and till now no one here (in Jordan) could do anything
Solution for you
I can advice you to contact the company through this link
to them and they will replace/fix it if it is still under warranty:
http://www.toshibamobile-europe.com/Contactus.aspx
this is a quote from the letter they have sent me about warranty issues:
"With regards to the warranty of your device we would like to inform you that the manufacturer provides the following:
- a 2 year warranty from the date of purchase, if the device has been purchased from an authorized retailer;
or
- a 27 month warranty from the date of manufacturing, if the device has been purchased from a different retailer; the date of manufacturing it is stated on the back of your phone, under the MD number; depending on the model, the first 2 digits represent the manufacturing year and the next 2 digits represent the manufacturing month; "
So I assume if your device is still under warranty you are covered but search for the recipe because they would like to see the original =)
I agree with the previous poster, I bought a second hand TG01 off Ebay and after a few days it stopped charging. I contacted Toshiba and they said even though I was not the original owner it was still covered by the warranty. I sent it to a repair centre and they sent me back a brand new phone, they even supplied me a sim unlock code for the new phone free of charge as my original was unlocked.

[Q] T-Mo US Warranty Question

The touch screen on my HD2 has died, the screen turns on, but does not respond to any touch. At first it was just the end button, now the whole thing is dead.
Anyhow, my question is that I bought this phone full price on eBay brand new (It's the T-Mobile version).
How would I go about this to get a replacement?
Do I contact HTC or T-Mo?
Also, I don't have a receipt of the original purchase from the seller, would this be an issue at all?
Thanks guys.
I've no experience with T-Mobile but this should be helpful to you.
From what I see, you just need to contact HTC directly for warranty claims for US T-Mobile branded devices. If you lack a proof of purchase, contact your seller immediately, but I believe HTC will honour warranties based on production date of that unit.
Hey,
Just contact HTC and they will be able to fix it. If you tell them you bought it from ebay they will just look at the warranty left on the product, and if there is warranty left then they will repair for free, only have to pay for shipping charges to repair shop.
And like cliffordlee said they look at it based on production date so proof of purchase isn't necessary. My HD2 broke too, same thing, and i bought it from ebay as well.
Luckych
ok. I`m from Bulgaria, Europe.
3 weeks ago I sended my device for repair. Now it's ok, but they returnd the device with new mainboard, and now - the device is SIM LOCKED!
more than a week I'm waiting for the unlock code, and it's still not here
So, be carefull about this if your device is now unlock. Main was unlock too, befor sending.
Another thing. When I received the devise it went on customs. HTC service were writen 500$ on the package and I had to pay CUSTOM FEE 20%
Good luck

International Warranties?

Hi there
I bought my Atrix online, I live in Australia.
Now I have problem with the phone I took to the moto repair shop they said they can't fix it as it does not have an Australian label on the back! and it's not a OZ stock!
I'm still 6 months warranty according to me IEMI number but it's based on US!
What do u guys suggests? can I post it to US motorola? possible?
Advice needed
IMO, you should call up Motorola customer service during their normal business hours.
what is wrong with your phone though? it might be cheaper just to do the repairs yourself.
It's not loading/starting up.

Sony Brazil and Xperia S

After sony annunced :
Sony Mobile Communications has identified that the display on a limited number of Xperia S smartphones may show a slight yellow tint if exposed to temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. This is limited to a small number of units and the cause of this has been corrected. Any consumer observing this slight yellow tint on the display of their Xperia S is welcome to contact their local customer service centre and Sony Mobile Communications will resolve this at no cost to the consumer.

You only waited 7 minutes before replying to our own thread? What do you think his is, and IRC chatoom where you will immediately get 20+ replies?
As for me, here in Singapore, the only difference is the costs - local sets, with a local warranty, get the screen replaced for free. For imported sets you need to pay the servicing fee which is not much.
Remember that the purchase price in a country helps pay for the serving fees in that country.
If you want to give feedback to sony, you should do so on the sony talkback forum.
I didnt know its only changing the screen will solve it , even so Sony in Brazil wont even accept taking the xperia S , i said i pay for the fix but the answer they dont give support for imported cell, so i have to buy the screen from ebay and find some one to change it for me ( pay for changing screen ) !! thats what i am mad about 10 days i have the phone and it will coast me 2 new phones !! and its all SONY Falt !!

This is because you imported an item from other country. Sony Brazil won't fix the phone because the warranty is not cover in Brazil. I have the same situation before. There is only 2 options to fix the phone. Either get friend from Hong kong and ask them to fix it for you or find a local phone repair store to see if they can fix it. Maybe you can wait until Brazil official release xperia s and ask them to fix it(In this case, you might have to pay the full price for fixing).

[Q] Does the Galaxy S3 actually have an international warranty?

So I bought a GS3 in july last year from Dubai (and thought its the best thing happened to me) then moved to Germany to stay permanently, the phone was mostly used for Android app development and had a luxurious treatment and was rarely used for other than that and navigation!
And starting at December random red hues started appearing around the screen, then a couple of weeks later the blue led was blinking so I tried to unlock it but it wouldn't, then I removed the battery, and it never booted again, no single reaction!
The real problem is that Samsung Germany refused to fix the phone saying:
thank you for your request.
According to our terms of warranty only mobile phones distributed within the EU are entitled to free warranty repair in Germany. Therefore please contact the local Samsung support center in Dubai. Thank you for your unterstanding.
If you have any further questions please contact us.
Kind regards,
Viktoria GrĂ¼n

What I don't unterstand is that the dealer in Dubai assured it has international warranty. and the whole thing makes no sense since its the same phone and it wasn't my fault, and going all the way to dubai would cost several times what the phone is worth and if I ever buy a new phone it wont be Samsung or android at all!
So I desperately searched the net for a way or hint to fix it, and found some main boards that cost almost or more than half the price with no warranty.
now I went back to use my old S1 which feels like a calculator compared to the S3, and I could cry whenever I see the S3 lying on the desk:crying:
any ideas?

What exactly do Samsung and Google have to do with misinformations provided by your seller?

That's incorrect and a misinformation from your seller. US-customers also cannot have the i9300 fixed locally.
Just because the phone is called "international" does not mean it has international warranty.

Samsung Europe is not Samsung Asia, is not Samsung US, ...
They are different subcompanies of the same mother-company.
By the way; Samsung is not and never was under any obligation to fix your phone. The term warranty is usually used completelty incorrectly by customers.
Warranty is a voluntary offer by the seller or manufacturer to fix or replace a device and can have arbitrary conditions (such as location specific, only so many hours of usage, ...)
Guarantee on the other hand is ONLY provided by the seller (not the manufacturuer!) and it's definition is provided by the law of the country you buy the product in.
E.g. Most EU-countries have 2 years guarantee but you can still have only 1 year of warranty. Confusing...
Most manufacturers DO allow direct bring-in for 2 reasons;
1) customer service quality
2) they would get the device anyway through your seller so it does not make a huge difference
Multiple posts say it does not have an International warranty .
What I don't unterstand is that the dealer in Dubai assured it has international warranty.
The dealer is at fault nobody else .
The warranty as said is from the seller not Samsung .
Samsung's warranty is a secondary limited warranty .
Your warranty may well have been void anyway .
REF
phone was mostly used for Android app development .
tried to unlock it but it wouldn't,
if I ever buy a new phone it wont be Samsung or android at all!
Pointless posting here just to have a cry about Samsung users are never inclined to help in that situation .
