I guess you tried to flash the boot partition instead of systm partition... In Odin just check the PDA box to flash a new ROM.

Don't know ! Have you try tchik resize partition in Odin option ? (I think you have to find the pit file for your ROM)

You can use DroidExplorer to copy files over to the tab while in recovery mode. It works for Team Win Recovery, haven't tried CWM.

I think 4kb is not the size of partition but the size of a cluster ... there is a problem with file sysem format.
That rom is a honeycomb one, no ?

well currently there is no rom on it, cause the custom rom i install on it didnt work(it install fine and everything was ok on the installation process, but then when it reboot and on the bootscreeen it seen that it dosnt want to load for some reason so it stuck at the samsung boot screen) , so i wipe that rom, now it current not running any rom at all. i try to flash some stock rom onto it with odin and that the error message that pop up. i even try using a pit file cause someone suggest to do so and it still dosnt work, same message pop up. the stock rom im trying to flash on it is an united kingdom ics, i also try a USA honeycomb 3.2 stock rom and it still dosnt work. that error message keep popping up everytime, im guessing my only chance is to find a way to transfer a new custom rom(that actually work) onto the galaxy tab 10.1 through CWM or Odin or something and install that custom rom.

You have to try a ICS Stock ROM like this one : P7500XXLQ8 (You will find it in the Galaxy Tab 10.1 Android Development Section)
Otherwise you can send file to your tablet in CMW if you have Android SDK installed on your PC. This can be done with ABD Shell.

2. Boot into recovery and connect the tab to your PC
3. Run DroidExplorer and drop the file into the sdcard

5. Profit

ok now another problem pop up, when i click install zip file from sdcard it pop up a error saying cant mount sdcard. i search it up and someone posted it has to do with partition on the sd card being mess up..... what can i do to fix this?

I am so having all of the same problems. When I did the 7500 rom it flashes and gets stuck at the samsung screen. Then I did the wipes and that didn't help either. I have flashed the pda signed tar 7510. That let's me boot up and used the tab but without the 4G use. I just want stock. Keeps giving the too small error on stock...... There are quite a few people who have had this problem!!!

[Q][Troubleshooting] Soft Brick?

Hi all. I thing my phone is struggeling to survive.
First I'll give you some background info:
Phone is SGS3 I9300.
[ROM] Has been running Omega Rom since one of the first versions. Been running v32 since it was released (not v32.1)
[Kernel] Been running Omega's tweaked stock kernel most the time, but installed SiyahKernel 1.7rc3 some days ago.
About a week ago I recieved a 64gb SanDisk MicroSDXC card and installed Mittiadj's ExtSD2InternalSd script.
[recovery] CWM V6.0.1.2
So, what happened?
Well, when I installed the extsd2internal it wouldn't apply on boot, so per his guide, I installed Script Manager and got it working.
Some days ago I wiped system, flashed omega 32, flashed siyah kernel and flashed the extsd2internal for custom kernels.
Now the script worked without script manager.
After I installed Siyah, the phone reboted twice, about a day or 2 apart. The 3rd time it rebooted automatically, it did not manage to boot again (stopped at the Siyah boot logo, the purple eye).
From here, I switched the phone off, and using vol-up+home+power, I am SOMETIMES able to get into recovery. However, in recovery, I am able to flash cache but not dalvik, I tried flashing Omega, but it froze during the install wizard, I tried wiping system (for another attempt at Omega) but it rebbots then also.
Now the phone only gets to the White Samsung logo or to recovery (but recovery only shows version and the text)
E: can't mount /cache/recovery/command

Where can I go from here?
What has gone wrong?
I am suspecting the memory chip is fubar, but hope someone can tell me otherwise
For the record, I have tried booting with and without sim and microsd, no change comes from that.
In the mean time I guess it's time to resurrect the god'ol Nexus One

This reads as totally bolocksd firmware and recovery .
Remove SD card and format it in windows as FAT 32 .
Boot to download mode and flash stock rom via Odin as alternative is a non warranty repair .

Tried flashing CWM via ODIN, but get an error after Writing stage. (i shoulden't have done that, because before the flash counter was 0, and it showed stock, after it shows as modified
Any reason to believe that flashing a stock rom will work better than flashing CWM?

Confused flashed CWM >> do you mean root ???

Phone is allready rooted, as i had Omega Rom installed.
CWM means ClockWorkMod Recovery. I allready had that installed to, but as i wrote in first post, I had trouble getting it into recovery mode.
Nothing's changed in that regard tho

you should flash a stock FW via odin.
just make sure before starting odin you need to close all kies processes via task manager, this could lead to the failed operation.

Go into recovery and do a reset after the flash
1) Flash a stock ROM via ODIN
2) If it keeps restarting at the Samsung logo, go into recovery (turn the phone off and then hold volume up + home button + power button until the Android appears) and factory reset/wipe data.

When stock rom has flashed by odin each write is verified and if any error is found will be logged in odin textarea.
So, probably problem is not emmc.
The common cause to boot loop is data partition has been corrupted.
To solve is necessary format data partition.
To boot direct in recovery mode, use the combination volume_up+home+power.
Use recovery menu to issue the factory reset.

flash via odin
I've tried same as davidmartins but all failed w/ the same Odin log.
Initial rom on my S3 was I9300XXLEF (Hong Kong) and I flashed Samsung Galaxy S III GT-I9300 Stock Firmware Collection I9300XXEMA2 after that it didn’t re-boot because of wrong ROM, if I try to get into recovery it shows the “Firmware upgrade encountered issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again” screen.
I tried also to re-flash the Stock FW but failed too.
Any further advise to bring my S III back to life would be highly appreciated.
Cheers.....LinChina

I9300 Boot logo stuck. Please help

Hi Guys.
I uninstalled some apps on my rooted I9300 and went to bed. When i woke up, the boot logo was stuck.
The only thing i can access is Download-mode (Volume-down + Home + Power).
I think the only way to get my phone up and running again, is through Odin (please correct me if I'm wrong)
What i have tried to resolve the issue:
- Tried downloading stock firmware from Sammobile.com and adding it in Odin v1.85, v3.04 and v3.07: Result: There is no PIT partition. v3.07 stopped at "SetupConnection.."
- Tried downloading rescue firmware here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30087735&postcount=6. The package included Bootloader, PDA, PHONE and CSC files. Tried running them through Odin, first with "Re-Partition" unticked - Failed. Then i tried with "Re-partition" ticked, and got this:

I just need to access CWM recovery so i can install a ROM, but when I hold Volume Up + Power, it shows the boot logo after a while and it stays there..
Im fairly new to Android, but I hope you guys have some tips for me.

I can't find a solution in this thead. The firmware i downloaded from Sammobile.com did not include a .pit file, just one large tar.md5 file.
When using this in Odin i get the "There is no PIT partition" error.

What's inside the tar file? Can you extract it and put each of the separate bits in to their own boxes in odin?

You said you're keen to just get in to recovery, can u flash a recovery in odin and then use adb commands to get there? adb reboot recovery

As far as I know, there is no point to adb without a recovery to boot?

The rescue firmware i downloaded included 3 parts + PIT file, but when i try to flash just the 3 parts, without the PIT, it fails.
Giving up! I've read through countless forums, and no one has a solution as long as the "Re-Partition operation failed." error shows in Odin.
RMA'ing the phone tomorrow.:crying:
Try firmware initialzation within KIES. You will be prompted for the model and serial number and voilá!!!! New
Flashing going under it's way!!!

My device isn't recognized by KIES while in downloading mode. Is it supposed to? I've tried downloading the drivers, different cables and pc's.
Got any tips on how to get KIES to detect my phone?

Tried it. The drivers are installed. Odin and Heimdall detects it, but KIES doesn't.
Then try to follow firmware initialization steps, and then, and only then, connect the phone... It will look for your terminal in download mode and update it.

Tried it. KIES downloads the firmware and fails at apx 69% telling me that "firmware initialization failed".
send it in
Already packed and ready for shipment.
Update:
The service department stated that they had to replace the mainboard on my phone.
I don't know if they noticed that the device was rooted and had a custom ROM, but it was covered by warranty and they are sending it back with no charge
How lucky you are then!!! Congrats and enjoy the new phone, whenever arrives

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S3, I9300 weird problems

HI.
I had installed Odin and flashed the touch CWM 6 to my phone then I installed PureHD custom rom.
I noticed that the phone would reboot on its own every now and then.
But when it reboots, it just goes into a boot loop up to the logo , then reboots again.
Till I take out the battery, wait a little while , then re-insert the batter.
After that the phone will boot "normally" and would be functional for some time again.
I decided to change the Firmware, so i downloaded the cm-10.1-20130701-crDroid-build5-i9300.zip and install it.
That loaded fine for the most part.
I say that because when i try to use the sms application i noticed 2x since last night.
It does the same thing. It just reboots and get stuck at the logo once again.
Also I cannot copy items to my phone when its connected to my computer via the usb cable.
It tells me "cannot copy to device, either the device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected.
All this is very frustrating.
I am thinking about trying to load a stock rom via Odin to see if that will help.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks..

I tried to isntall the STock rom.
It was installed via Odin successfully.
I saw the green Android man for a split second.
And phone just reboots, and now is stuck in the boot loop to the logo..
then reboots again..
This is the output form Odin 3.07

have you tried a hard reset? format data , cache and dalvik in recovery? after you successfully flashed stock rom? hope that helps
Try using MegaWipe from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832326&page=31
and then flash a ROM.
Just don't forget to backup the Important stuff.
Just wipe phone and install stock rom

You don't mention the word wipe so I figure you didn't do that. If you can't get into the phone you should do your battery-removal thing and let the phone get into the OS, then connect USB and copy out the files you need to save. If you've got a backup to your extSDcard that would be helpful - you can always restore data from an advanced CWM Restore setting.
Copy the ROM you want across to the estSDcard using USB
Download megawipe, copy it to estSDcard and flash it in CWM.
Flash your ROM and restart phone, Set it up and once done, then start adding apps and restoring data, THEN make a full backup.
As a rule, the only time you do not do a full wipe of your phone is when you are flashing a point upgrade. i.e. going from AbcROM 7.1 to AbcROM 7.2 - if you are changing ROMs or doing a full step upgrade (AbcROM 7.x to AbcROM8.x) you need to do a full wipe to avoid problems.

[Q] GT-S5839i Bricked :(

This is my first thread, so hello!
Me and my sister both have a S5839i, and my sisters just randomly bricked, and it is on a boot loop.
I have tried EVERYTHING online- recovery mode, downloading firmware with odin...you name it.
I have used the totoro_0623.pit file, and on Odin, it said it passed. But then trying with all the other firmware, it didn't work.
Yes, I am using the right version of Odin, and I don't have Kies running at the same time as Odin.
This is what happens when I put S5839IBULL1_S5839IVD2LH1_VD2.tar.md5 into the PDA section in Odin. This is the Germany Vodafone firmware, someone else posted in the forums. I have tried the UK one with the 3 network (what my region and network is) , but that doesn't work either, and comes up with the same thing in Odin.

Thankyou

Get the official firmware needed on Sammobile.com, you need an account on there. Don't worry it's free. Flash it as PDA on Odin. Make sure your phone is in download mode (volume up+volume down+power). If it boots, the boot animation might start looping. From theres you can access recovery (volume up+power+home). In recovery you wipe data and wipe cache and select reboot. It should work.

Hi
Don't panic !
Is not a brick, but Odin doesn't support one file (PDA) package.
You need to use Odinatrix to create a 3 files firmware or download a 3 files firmwares

I used Odin 3.07, and that worked... but when the phone loaded and installed - it said "Failed to mount /data (invalid argument)" and continued to boot loop. I thought by installing the firmware and re-partitioning it would fix that :/

Format the data
Put the pit file and tick Repartition. And then flash with Odin.
And you have to use Cooperve pit, not Totoro, it's for SGY
Yeah, I have ticked the re-partion and stuff. Apparently totoro works with Ace as well? All the tutorials say that...
I will still try though
Edit: Tried and still no luck....
