There are two different ICS JB hboots.
If you are S-Off, make a nandroid, then flash this in hboot:

Then re-flash the JB hboot if you need the fastboot commands.

ok new update the 'random reboots' were people trying to call me, Also every time the phone reboots for a moment it says please insert a sim card to use thjis phone, i went to Verizon and had my sim replaced and its still doing it, the Verizon guy noticed my phone was rooted and suggest i try flashing the latest ruu i cant find, so im doing that now
When i reinserted the old sim card the first time i put it 9n backwards turned the phone on and got the 'insert simcard' message so i pressed harder thinking it wasnt in all the way, is it possible i damaged something?

Yes I did and it work but every now and then the insert sim message flashes
Alright apparently one of the post i thought i posted last night did not post.. flashing the newest ruu fixed all the reboot problems, only problem now 9s it still sometimes flashes insert sim, so i think its warenty time i hope unlocking the boot loader wont make returning the phone not a option.
so stock recovery app is the same as factory reset.. heh who knew, lol,...
I take it a new SIM didn't help.

Okay I know someone has probably asked this but I can't find my situation anywhere. I did s-off then ran the gb firmware ruu and no every couple hours when my screen is off ill turn my phone back on and see that my WiFi and data say on in the toggles but also say disconnected. I have to then turn the toggles off and back on to fix it.
I'm assuming this is s-off related. Do I just run factory reset and then run the ruu again?

I had the ics leak then after s-off I an the gb ruu. I'm running newts xxx with no apps installed other than what's already on the Rom. What is weird is that the toggles say on but to the left it says disconnected. Switching it off then on fixes it. I just don't know why it would be disconnecting. I know there were radio issues with people flashing radios but I ran a full ruu
Have you tryed to reflash or okay with a different From?

No luck. I flashed the stock recovery then the ruu and did the clear storage thing. My mobile data still will be on and after a while the icon goes away completely ( no 4g,3g, or 1x). I go to settings and it is marked as on. I then have to turn it off and back on to restore the connection till it happens again.

Hey everyone,
So my girlfriend just got the LTE about 2 weeks ago, and now there is a real problem. I rooted it for her with s-off and flashed the stock/liquidsmooth rom. Everything has been running extremely smooth and great until today. The phone was in her pocket while we were out and when she pulled it out of her pocket and tried to unlock it, the phone was lagging really bad like a 15 second lag delay on everything and kept freezing. I tried wiping everything and reflashing the rom 2 or 3 times and its still doing the same thing. I'm very "flash savvy" and have quite a bit of android experience. When I push the power button to unlock the phone, the 3 bottom lights will just light up with the screen still black for about 2 minutes until it will light up and work semi smoothly.
Nothing was working so I try flashing another rom from the dev section and the same thing is still happening. I dont want to have to unroot it and take it into Sprint, so any help is greatly appreciated.
Anyone?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
No need to unroot - Sprint treats rooted phones the same as non-rooted phones now. There's clearly something severely wrong with the phone if you've wiped and flashed multiple times. Maybe run the RUU? If not, go to Sprint.

The bootloader is unlocked, and I can't for the life of me get it to relock. EVERY method I've tried doesn't work for me. Will they take it even with the unlocked/tampered bootloader?
Well I've got the phone to work a little better...But everytime I lock the phone and try to unlock it, it won't respond for about 2 minutes. And it keeps saying "process system is not responding" or sometimes "process com.android.phone is not responding". I've tried fixing permissions and partition SD card. Guess I'm taking it to sprint.
I am pretty sure you can get it repaired or replaced regardless of the bootloader status. Search the General section or the Q&A section. I guarantee it has been discussed, I just don't remember the answer.

Correct, as long as one has total equipment protection
If a store gives issues on it just ask them to look it up in policy.
OP
You tried re flashing that Rom and wipes but have you tried a different Rom?

I wiped cache, dalvik, system, factory data. The usual. And tried flashing 5 roms - stock with goodies(the latest one and an older one), miklatte, meanrom, and a stock rooted rom. Tried fixing permissions on all of them too. I tried 2 different kernels and reflashed the radio aswell but no luck.
I took it into sprint today and they wanted to keep it overnight lol, so I will findout in the morning.
Still blows my mind how the phone went from working so great and then 5 minutes later it was completely unresponsive.

If it's s off worst case scenario flash latest official ruu. Take to store. Then just unlock and flash recovery later.
But yeah, if you didn't activate the sim via Verizon wireless online its not happening
I had the same issue. I did have to runn the ruu. Make sure to s-on first

Be sure you're SIM is seated. A poor connection can give you grief. Remove the SIM and reinstall it. I had the exact same issue. Once I reseated the SIM, mine activated right away. Give it about 3-5 minutes. The network load could cause activation to take a few minutes according to the employees at the store.
Hope this works for you. Good luck!

You mean you' have stock 4.5.1A-1_SUN-254_13 but the bootloader is still unlocked. You may want to have a factory reset default backup files store somewhere from CWM. Lot of people will want those file include me. I have a unlocked bootloader and want stock 4.5.1A-1_SUN-254_13, but that will permanently lock my bootloader.
Albert.
I bought a DNA used off eBay. It came to me with the bootloader unlocked and s off. I toss my SIM card in and it connects to 3g fine, but 4g refuses to even try and come up. Troubleshooting steps taken below:
1. Switched from the sense 5 Rom that was installed to viper, no go
2. Flash the newest radio, no go
3. Try global mode, cdma/LTE mode, LTE only mode, no go
4. Flash a stock rooted Rom, no go
5. New SIM from Verizon store, no go
6. Swap Sims with a co workers DNA (which has 4g), his DNA gets 4g with my SIM but I don't get 4g with his.
7. Try to RUU, it keeps telling me installed software is 2.06, errors out with error 158, no go.
Any other ideas? I might just return it to the eBay seller.
Is there a limitation to using the RUU? Do you have to be on 1.15 everything to use it?

Not sure what that means. I'm coming from a droid 4 which was limited to pretty much just flashing roms, so this is my 1st real experience with flashing radios/kernels/hboots etc. He was previously using it on T-Mobile, but I don't see how that would effect anything. The seller agreed to take it back for a full refund, but I'm willing to try a few more things before I ship it back (unless it risks bricking)
EDIT: I'm retarded. You mean flash the boot image separately? Yeah I tried that with the DNA toolkit as well as manually. Fastboot crashes with the toolkit, and doing it manually with fastboot gives me errors. I think there is just something wrong with the phone. I've tinkered with a GNex before with fastboot and had no issues flashing anything.
Try an app from the playstore that turns off an on different parts of the radio. You can specifically choose just LTE. If it turn on its the software, if not, (obviously) it's the hardware

I had tried from the phone settings menu, whatever one the LTE On/Off app brings you to and no dice. It just sits at disconnected.
The settings are very limited. I had a similar problem, and I downloaded the lte on/off app by "tapbase" and I was able to discover that my lte radio works afterall. Try it, its free.

I was having the same problem as the OP. I tried a new SIM too. I ended up having to lock the bootloader, return the phone completely to stock, and then accept the latest OTA update. After that, I was able to get 4G. Then I unlocked the phone again, put a TWRP recovery on, and then I flashed a Sense 5 M7 ROM. It kept 4G! This has been a real pain-in-the-butt process, but it worked.
