hi ,
I had honeycomb beta leak using modaco guide ...and i would like to flash new rom.
Then i Downgrade from HC beta leaks or official HC OTA to Gingerbread using the guide and after that with [GUIDE][Flyer+View]Gingerbread S-OFF/Recovery/Permaroot i S-off rooted and put recovery.
now the problem is that if i install any new rom it does not boot . it stops on htc logo.
I used honeycomb/ics/jb rom but all something... can someone help me?
Wrong section. Development is for posting ROMs, guided, mods, etc. This should have be been posted to Q & A.
To flash Honeycomb ROMs, you need to be on HC, you can't do it from GB. They have different hboots. Use Globatron's guide to upgrade to rooted HC.

I'm not a big phone geek but I know enough to root and unlock my rezound. I wanna run a Rom but I still have the old firm ware. Are there any roms out there that I can use with the old firmware and no sense. Please help. Thanks for your guys time.

You can run any rom you want. If you run an ICS rom with the leaked firmware you need the firmware patch.
Where do I find the firmware patch. The software that my phone is running is 2.91.605.11
The pri version is 1.13_002, 1.88_002

I suggest running BAMF or Rezrom. Bamf you can already get in a senseless flavor, Rezrom you would have to enable AOSP lockscreen in Rezrom Tweaks & would have to install a launcher of your choice. Once you get the rom fully booted, do a reboot to recovery, do a USB moutn to rename PH98IMG in SD card root and flash old firmware patches, so you can access your sd card again.
I wanna thank everyone that helped me flash a senseless Ics rom. Thank you.

So I've been dying to try out the CM10 ROM but I found out the usual flashing doesn't work since I'm on the newest HBOOT, but if I flash an older rooted version of a stock ROM will it also put me on the older HBOOT so that I could flash it the usual way?

As far as I know, it isn't possible yet. Just don't do any ota updates.

No, the ROM is separate from the bootloader. You can fastboot flash a kernel with the new hboot (which you'll need to do for cm10) by following the instructions in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1794867
There is currently no way to downgrade you hboot version.

You dont need the older H-boot, all you need to do is learn how to correctly flash a kernel with your h-boot.
There are many methods available
I just rooted my Jewel and the only ROM I really want to try is stable CM10. I've read everywhere since I'm s-on it may not flash correctly. Is this true? I have the lastest H Boot and firmware and have not flashed any custom ROMs yet on this phone at least. Should I just flash it or should I do something else. I would appreciate any input.

Very true. I have an FAQ post for specific questions like this. And about 2 new posts a day are asking this same question.
Latest firmware: you need to downgrade using babyracun and then S-OFF. That'll fix your every issue.
Earlier firmware: fastboot flash boot boot.img
That'll flash the kernel for S-ON and allow your ROM to boot and work.

I'll be honest I read the DirtyRacun procedures and it looks like brain surgery. Wow what happened to simple flashing without all this extras? So if I want to stay simple and keep S-On I just need to flash the boot img before or after flashing CM10? Sorry for my noobness (which I am far from) but I've been out if the rooting game for awhile. Thank you very much for the help.

HTC happened. I did babyracun and facepalm within a few minutes. Far from any type of surgery. If you want to stay S-ON then you'll just need to use ROM's that are 3.16 based. No AOSP ROM will work with the latest touchpanel firmware. So... Just S-OFF. Its easy.

Hello all,
There is still no JB update for me CID_J15 although some people with the same CID got it!
I am on JB custom ROM, i return back to stock ICS to check for the update, but no luck!
A guy "ahmad" made a thread for all the official OTA updates, which includes CID_J15, but when am on stock, my software version is -as i remember- 1.18.405.x
So, can i use any of the OTA updates mentioned in that thread to update to JB?
I just need my hboot to be updated as am going to continue using custom ROMs.
Thanks

I was about to ask the same.
How do I install the OTA zip file ? Can somebody please tell me.
Try looking for the ota files which are downloaded during the update. After that you can manually initialize the update,
Or the best way is to wait for another week. I got my update a week after others got

Firstly go to all stock by flashing stock rom stock recovery and stock boot.img
Secondly Copy the ota in download folder in sdcard and then go to bootloader.

You can flash the PM66IMG.zip through fastboot, and then flash an JB ROM with a JB kernel, that's done.

I am trying to attempt [S-OFF] with Juopunutbear.
One of Juopunutbear's requirements, is that your on a completely stock rom.
Im having issues finding the lastest stock rom for the evo v 4g ( Virgin Mobiles version evo 3d) . I've searched high and low. I've came close, but it was an old ruu with an old radio.
I would like to flash a stock rom with same radio, if possible. I've checked http://www.shipped-roms.com/ , google.com and many other places.
Any one been in my situation ? Trying to achieve S-OFF with Jbears method on an Evo V 4g.
I'm tired Of sense roms.... I'm on hboot 1.7 and wish to start flashing ASOP!
Thanks in advance for the replies :good:

"One of Juopunutbear's requirements, is that your on a completely stock rom."
I unlocked with HTC Dev, installed twrp with SDK, and flashed SuperUser patch for the stock ROM.
Do I still have a stock rom or do I have to do the RUU?
