hello XDA people!
I am laurens
I know I do not have to post my problem right away without looking or other people have the same problem!
okay so I have all the time the Internet was searched to see if the rest same as me so Oh well no!
okay this is my situation:
I have a htc legend, i rooted it yesterday with htc supertool v3
I have everything superuser etc.
but I want to install it so CyanogenMod 7.02
so I downloaded it via ROM manager
and then tried to install so he is in recovery mode
and then I suddenly on me screen mobile phone with a triangle containing an exclamation mark so i read some stuff on the internet That this is normal and that i need to push the power button and the volume up button at the sametime so I did that,
Well then I get a menu with: reboot system now, apply sdcard: update.zip, wipe data / factory reset, wipe cache partitioning.
So I chose to apply sdcard: update.zip and then it wont install I get the following message:
E: can not open / cache / recovery / command
- Install from sdcard ...
Finding update package ...
Opening update package ...
Verifying update package ..
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
so i get that Same menu again and i just push reboot system now
but I get this every time I try to install him what's wrong and how can I fix it?
here is some information from the hboot:
hier is nog wat informatie van de hboot:
hboot is unlocked using htc dev!

This is the same issue that every one has that unlock phone using htcdev (hboot 1.02). The simple answer is you must use s-off recovery method, go to Dev section and find the official clockwork mod recovery thread and read it...

Do you still have the folder with adb.exe and fastboot.exe from unlocking the bootloader? If so download the CWM img file and move it into that folder. Open a command window and navigate to that folder(if in windows you can shift+right click and press open command window here). Connect your phone to pc via usb and then enter in all the code from the S-OFF instructions.

I think 806 would be the max but I've heard of people going above that. It's different for everyone though as some people's processors can't handle anything above 600

Well, if your rom boots normally, then you can download ROM flasher or 4rext recovery flasher from the GP. These apps are able to flash recovery under your android/

I was going to suggest that too, but it sounds like he's at the step after unlocking but before the custom recovery which means su hadn't been installed. I believe those apps need su.
OP: are the drivers installed if you are using a windows machine?
Read, Search, Read again, ... Then Ask with Tapatalk 2
yes,ive reinstalled the drivers a couple times.i dont have su yet.im at the step just after unlocking bootloader.

You could try locking the bootloader and running the ruu.exe to set everything back to stock and then start over.

I may end up doing that.there was also recently a htc universal root posted on this site,do u think that would work?

Although the dev claims it does, Ramjet73 tried it and was having trouble getting it to work with the 3d. I wouldn't count on it working, but I do know that the unknownforce/closeone live CD hboot downgrade method and the JB wire trick do work.

this is where I found regaw mod
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690919
after unlocking/rooting I used quick boot to get to TWRP and flashed this rom
This is the rom I used
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1764914
You need to flash the kernel separately. Grab boot.img installer or use fastboot. Reboot the phone and hold power+volume down to get into the bootloader, then select recovery. I'm not familiar with boot.img installer but with fastboot you extract the boot.img from the rom and place it in the adb folder and with the phone in fastboot and in the terminal type fastboot flash boot boot.img

Because adb is for Android, fastboot is a command line tool that you run from hboot. Type fastboot devices instead and you will see you phone listed

You were trying to run android debug commands in hboot and you fixed it with a stock kernel? Because that's what my post is referring to
If fastboot and adb don't see your device, make sure you have JAVA installed. That's what confounded me, initially.

That's because you have to change the path of where your cmd prompt is looking. If you haven't changed it then it wont find adb inside of sdk. change the pathway so it looks inside SDK then looks inside the tools folder or whatever folder contains the adb.exe. After its changed correctly it will find adb

Hi
I have a Legend and i have made it S-OFF with htc-dev
now i am trying have it rooted and flash cwm onto it.
when i boot into HBOOT with power + vol- and plugin the usb cable and enters the adb like this:
Code:
C:\legend>adb reboot bootloader
error: device not found
C:\legend>fastboot devices
SH0BTNX04748 fastboot
C:\legend>fastboot flash recovery.img
unknown partition 'recovery.img'
error: cannot determine image filename for 'recovery.img'
C:\legend>
I have tried a number of the guides here and other places on the net, but cant get it rooted or flash cwm.
I am suspecting some error on the Legend, because i cannot even flash the latest update for it:
RUU_Legend_Froyo_S_HTC_WWE_3.15.405.6_Radio_47.51.35.17_7.13.35.05_release_222317_signed.exe

any and all hints and proposalsare welcome in my "quest" to solve this problem.
Happy new year!
You obviously did not fully read the flashing instructions correctly, the flashing command you typed into your post is not compleat or correct.
Hint:-
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Or
Adb shell flash_image recovery recovery.img

Happy NewYear to you as well (we are in 2013 with almost an hour in denmark by now)

I more and more believe that it is going to be retired. I just hoped I could try ICS or JB on it, like I use on my Desire and Sensation.
As noted by me and others in many many threads regarding hboot 1.02 you can't use fake flash you must do the s-off method of clockwork mod recovery.
Do the s-off flashy thing, then you can boot into clockworkmod recovery

When I goto recovery I goto the TWRP Recovery screen with all the blue boxes.
Apparently I must have deleted my internal SDcard , I cant mount it. It shows 0mb. If I try to click restore it shows nothing on the internal card.
I do however see the Micro SD card.
For awhile, I was able to see the Cyanogen Mod splash screen just spinning, now is just black.
I can boot into Recovery mode.
Any helpful ideas to try. Im guessing I need to get my internal sdcard accessible again somehow?
Thanks

Lol. I said to preform a wipe, install the Rom, fastboot the boot.img, and restart the phone.
Not sure why you did anything with a token and you don't need to keep flashing recovery. No clue what the other thing is that you're flashing. And you're going to want a much later version of TWRP. Preferably 2.3.3.0+.
So I'll run through this again even though there are guides to all of this.
1. Wipe Cache, Cache/Delvik, Data, and System.
2. Install your ROM.
3. fastboot flash boot boot.img (that's a ROM kernel).
4. Restart your phone.

You need to elaborate on nothing "responding." If touchscreen doesn't work then you need to downgrade using babyracun and S-OFF.
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
Like delakit said, you must have the 3.16 firmware with the new touch panel. Meaning, you can only use 3.16 based sense ROMs. If you get S-off, you can downgrade your firmware and use any ROM you like.

You cannot flash ANY CM/AOSP/AOKP roms if you are on the latest OTA which you are. The touch panel will not work.
My first phone ever the htc one and i was bored today so i decided to root my p hone.. I was messing around with TWRP and i deleted the os on the phone and now it wont load! whenever i turn on my phone it just loads and gets stuck at HTC One logo... SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE I tried to RUU too however it fails..
UPDATE
Has been fixed if anyone else has this problem to fix it simply flash android revolution HD and install it through recovery (prefer CWM)
Connect it to the computer and put any ROM in your /downloads. Flash it. Should work. If not.. no clue. :/

How can I do that? My phone wont even load... only thing i can load is fastboot / bootloader
You need to download the STOCK RUU. This is the software the phone ships with or a rooted version of the same thing.

Which ruu did you try?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292640
Usb-otg is not available so there is no option of adding a Rom to storage that I am aware of, an ruu or nandroid would be your only options. Did yo make a backup beforehand?

Did you relock the bootloader first? Designgears posted in another thread that the bootloader must be locked

Locking the bootloader is done through adb, not with files
Follow the directions you followed to unlock the bootloader, but type 'fastboot oem lock'into the command prompt

Can i Have some steps please? I am such a ****ing idiot cant belive i wasted 3-4 hours now fixing one stupid mistake ive made...
Damn that sucks. Good luck getting that fixed. Once you get it fixed (hopefully) I would be more careful with hacking your smartphone. I plan on keeping my device stock for a long time. Don't want to worry about messing something up.

You can open the command prompt from within the folder you unzipped when performing the unlock by pressing shift and right clicking
Power off your phone. Power your phone on by holding power and volume down.
Highlight 'Fastboot' the volume buttons then press power to "select".
Plug your phone into your PC and open a Command Prompt. (windows XP - Click Start > Run > type CMD in box then press OK; Windows 7 - Click Start > type CMD in search box then press Enter) Change directory to your folder where we put fastboot files by typing cd c:\fastboot for example.*
*Alternatively, you can just hold down shift and right click in the folder and select "open command window here".
Type this into your command prompt window: fastboot oem lock
at least that's how I think it works
good luck!
modified the directions pulled from here but changed to lock

OH **** I RELOCKED IT AWW **** YEAH TY now whats the next step finally some progress after 4 HOURS + AHAHHAHA
So I relocked my phone and I've tried to extract the ruus but i think i might have did it wrong.. did it to two different ruus and it failed.
I have not tried these ruu's but they are pretty simple. Extract and run ...disable antivirus if you have one.
What error does it give?

sending 'recovery' (7536 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.171s]
writing 'recovery'...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
finished. total time: 2.073s
remote signature verify fail..... it sends the files and its ok and all then it just fails..
