SD cards will not show on computer - HTC Rezound

Okay I have look and seen all the info on this problem, however I have tried all of it and I'm still unable to see my SD card. I tried installing different Recovery's and different Roms, many different combo's, still nothing. Yes I did wipe EVERYTHING many times before each step. I am S-off and running Team Venom presents:ViperRez 1.0.3, and TWRP 2.2.0 for Rezound 7/12/2012 UPDATE recovery. I also got a new cord and thought it was bad again and took it back and got a new one and still nothing. I also have all the settings right for it to see my sd card. I have also plugged my son's htc Incredible 2 into the computer and it see's it just fine, so I know the drivers are there. Any help would be great, Thanks!

Is the option to have it set to disk showing up on your phone? does windows attempt to install drivers? try installing htc sync, then uninstalling it. the drivers will be left behind.

Yes I have it set to Disk, No windows doesn't attempt to install drivers( there already installed ), and I know because if I hook up my son's Incredible 2 it sees the SD on it.

What firmware are you on?
And does the SD card work in a card reader?
And can your phone read the card, so your issue is just USB mounting?
Sent from my NeoMax Rezound

Are you on gb firmware running an ics rom?

A SD card reader will work, so I can get roms on it and take them off, and the phone can read it also. I have not updated to the latest RUU, so Im still on 3.14.605.10. Now I had installed NeoMAX 2.0 [ICS De-Sensed 3.14.605.12, and then I had to use Amon Ra to use a theme and that is where it went all wrong. When I tried to just flash back to the rom's base, I wiped and flashed a new NeoMAX 2.0, now I can't see the SD cards.

Do I still need to flash the "Update Patch"?

No need for the patch. Actually, you mentioned you were on the .10 leak earlier. If you ran that leaked RUU, you didn't need to flash the patch a while back. It was never clear that you were on GB firmware.
Anyway, to eliminate recovery, custom rom questions. Flash the new OTA RUU again and check things out in the completely STOCK setup. If you can't see the card then, and you are sure the drivers are installed, then I'd have to think you've got a hardware problem. Remember, check it out in a completely stock setup.

Yes I did check it out after I ran the New RUU, and I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them. I still couldn't see the SD card's.

If you are on ics firmware and an ics rom thats not aokp/aosp and you can see your sd cards i would get a replacement. It could still be the data cable or the.computer but......

SD Card un-mounts on Restart

Searched all over before I started this thread. See all kinds of SD card issues, but none that answer mine.
I am S-Off. I have flashed the latest leak. I am on the JBear Hboot for ICS. Every time I restart, my SD card unmounts. It is a simple fix to mount it in settings, but invariably I forget and then I have to copy jpegs over to the SD card...Ultimately only annoying...but an issue nonetheless...
I have tried changing cards, as it was suggested perhaps my card was to blame...So I formatted a new card on the PC and tried that (even set up partitions)...Nope. I tried formatting it from Amon Ra Recovery and that did not fix it...I even considered offering small rodents to the Linux gods in hopes that they would be merciful, but I think it would have to be technology, something microsoft, in order to appease them...
At any rate...If you can help me with this, I would be most grateful!
Edit: Reran the RUU update, then JB hboot then Amon Ra and I now have my SD Card after rebooting. Thanks to Chyrux for the recommendation!
Have you tried a different ROM? Have you tried reflashing the firmware?

Thanks Again for that advice! It worked! Got my card back after restart! I think that I might not have run it correctly when I S-Offed. I had originally run the ENGBoot and that wasn't right, but I think doing the Ruu, then JB hboot then Amon Ra got things right....So, thanks again!

Need help from those who have successfully installed cm9 on boot manager

K I'm using boot manager to install a cm9 Rom and it keeps failing at creating boot.img. I don't know what I'm doing wrong since I've herd of others installing cm9 roms sucessfully using boot manager. Maybe it's something in my settings? Tried making a thread at init2winit forums but have not gotten any response over there. Anyone here willing to help me out? I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for the advice. I did check my SD storage and it said that I only had 1.16GBs left. So I thought that this could be true I suppose. So I switched to int. Storage as the install location(which I have 9.67GBs available on) and its causing my phone to lock up and freeze. Happened right at the part "extracting Rom please wait..." Weird...

Remember to disable logging in Superuser. That also causes some major issues. Just open superuser hit settings icon, and where it says logging set it to off. You should have much better luck that way

The Rezound is supported by bootmanager.
I've never been able to get boot manager to work correctly since I've started using it back on my dinc2. Had issues installing some roms on that phone too. Which is why I think my problem may be the settings I am using. Is there specific settings I need to use for the rezound?
EDIT: After I changed the settings SU I tried again at work and it froze still and even rebooted during the install.

Ok, so I finally got cm9 roms to install correctly and now when I try to boot to them it just shows the splash screen for a couple seconds and my display turns off and it never boots. I've tried with kang and paranoid with the same results. I've tried going into recovery and manually flashing the update zip for rom 1, didnt work. Can't think of what could be the problem....

Doesnt look like anyone has asked you this, but are you S-Off?? You need to be S-off for this to work. Also make sure when installing you wipe system/data/cache. You should be able to use the ext.4/2 either one will work. I use the ext.4 since it installs faster....alot faster.

No, you're not alone. Also on the new firmware running a post-RUU ROM. Also experiencing the need to manually remount sdcard2 after reboot. I suppose I will try all these things before I flash another ROM. Not worth the aggravation now.

Hey Fly,
Thank you again for all of your hard work on this! I have tested every function that I usually use in TWRP and so far so good. No issues with 3 separate backups now, even changing the name. It is especially fast at making backups, only a minute or so. Flashing (even with Aroma) seems to be quick and painless. Add in the Flash Image app and this phone is worth some of my time now. No longer am I stuck getting my flash fix on my other 4 devices. If I had any thanks left you would get them all...but you already did.
Cheers

If I can get other feedback of it not working i'll look into it. I wiped my linux box(my way of building recoveries) clean as can be. Got to rebuild it today. So if I can get other feedback of it not working i'll look into it more. But all the code looks right to make ADB turn on.
Try doing this. I learned this on the Rezound. Go under advanced. ADB Sideload. Go into it and back out of sideload. That usually jump started ADB for me.

Oh, hey, that did the trick! Thanks! Will report back with Aroma status in a bit.
EDIT:
adb will connect automatically sometimes, but sometimes I have to do the sideload trick to get it to connect.
Aroma seems to work perfectly on installer pages without a whole lot of content, but on pages like those found in CODIS with tons of options, it still freezes sometimes. Much more stable, though
Thanks for all your work and dedication!

I was having the same issue last night. But it happened on any type of wipe I tried. So I tried reflashing recovery, still did the same thing. It's odd because I was able to wipe everything before I installed a different ROM yesterday morning.
Edit: Removed the custom theme I was using and all is well. Go figure.

I think I broke it

I'll try to make this brief and to the point. I just got my Thunderbolt a few days ago and it was already rooted. My original goal was to flash it myself and put it on PagePlus. (I posted in another thread, but no one answered) I ran CDMA Workshop and I noticed that my T-bolt wasn't showing up in the ports under device manager. I then attempted to unroot it but that failed badly. I ran through a bunch of articles online and I figured out how to install customs roms. I thought that would fix the issue.
So far I've tried 4 different roms and they've all installed fine. It's just the reboot that's the issue now. When it turns on it goes to the white HTC screen and then it hangs on a blank screen until it reboots again. It's stuck in a loop. So if anyone knows what's wrong, I'd seriously be very thank full.
Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thank you very much in advance.
I guess I didn't ask the question correctly. I dunno. I installed a few custom roms and and it gets stuck after the HTC screen. what can I do to fix it?
What recovery are you using?
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2

When you boot into the bootloader does it list your radio version?
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
yes, it's Radio - 1.48.00.930w_3
Here is the complete list:
MMECHA XD SHIP S-ON
HBOOT - 1.05.0000
MICROP - /
Radio - 1.48.00.930w_3
eMMc - boot
Have you flashed either of the official ICS ota radios? I think you have the wrong baseband.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
OK, so I went to this site and got the radio, renamed it, and then moved it over to the freshly formatted sd card. I ran bootloader, it's been at the HBOOT checking ... [PG05IMG.zip] screen for about 5 minutes now, I'm about to reboot and try again. I don't understaned the part about having s-off. I know it means security off, but I don't know how to turn it off.
http://www.androidmodmarket.com/ModMarket/Listings/XDA-L-2136273.html
edit: still hangs at the HBOOT checking ... [PG05IMG.zip] screen
Lol you're s on so you cant flash a radio. You need to run the revolutionary tool and get s off. Then flash the radio in the bootloader.

Is there another way to turn s-off? I can't get it to recognize my phone at all and the drivers are installed. I turn on the phone and then it goes go the htc logo and then to a blank screen. it hangs there for a few and then reboots into a loop. since s-on can't I just install a stock rom and be done with it?

So are you able to connect with ADB from a computer? The All-in-One tool might be able reset to factory, so you can start over. It can also walk you through Revolutionary/S-Off.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41384498&postcount=519
Note on Windows 7 with the latest version of the tool I linked above, I had to use Koush's Universal ADB Driver instead of the HTC one -- it kept causing my computer to blue screen/reboot.
If you're still looking for a GB ROM as someone mentioned a few posts back, the ThunderShed ROM on rootzwiki is very good.

I am considering going back to stock so I can use the legit ICS. All I have to do is just flash the update stock update file and I should be good to go right? I think it's on Android 2.??? and I'd rather have it on legit 4.???
Whatever you do don't take the update.... Just make sure you have ICS radios flashed before you flash the ICS ROMs.
