titan back covers and ebay questions - HTC Titan

The above clip is a video of my problem
So I have been on a 2 month odyssey with my uk, euro titan and its original back cover, although I had its original back cover painted white and works great, I have been trying to buy replacement back covers from ebay only to find that they do not securely fit, after a few tugs, pulling it out of my pocked or just letting it drop lightly say on my couch, the back cover and phone easily come apart.
I have purchased from sellers in china and even purchased from a supposed uk seller from ebay.co.uk who turned out to still be a seller in china, both covers do clasp into place with the phones screen/guts, but pop easily out with the slightest bump.
I currently am in contact with HTC America who are going to send me an oem back cover however it has been backordered for 2 weeks now.
although I love my painted white back cover, it has experienced wear and tear and i just long for things to be "normal" again. my question is has anyone heard of this problem with the titan and back covers that don't fit properly? besides buying a $70 oem back cover from htc uk accessories, does anyone have any tips or know anything that could help?
I also want to mention I had sent my phone to htc America to replace the screen, gps and the worn out "button presses" on the inside of the phone. and they did, they replaced each and every single thing including the inner plastic body lining where the volume button "presses" are and the plastic surrounding the sim card all replaced, I can only guess that if maybe I did not ask to replace this plastic that hooks itself to the back cover that maybe any grey market back cover would have fit securely?
and also want to mention yes my original back cover that is painted still fits and firmly grips the phone, when I look at all 3 back covers the 2 from china and my painted oem back cover, I can't tell a difference at all in their inner workings SIGH

HTC Wizard(T-Mobile MDA) housing?

I am looking for a newer bricked(totally completely useless) T-Mobile MDA like my avatar for cheap and in reasonable physical shape so I can fix my MDA. The housing is totally dinged and scratched on my phone and the screen has a nasty scratch on it that is rediculously visible.
If anyone has one of these, please let me know.
Thanks, Dan.
Housings have got a lot cheaper on eBay now, used to be about £40, now down to about £24-£30 shipped. These are original "as new" removed from returned phones, I've never seen a non-OEM housing. Touch screen about £10 shipped from HK. I doubt you'll be able to buy even a bricked Wizard for £34-£40 so it might be the way to go.
First thing I did was drop my Wizard so the chip has been staring me in the face every day since. I'll wait for a few more dings before I part with any cash. A screen protector from poundland was a great investment though!
Edit: Sorry, see you're in the States so double those numbers...
I bought a couple of housings recently. Things to be wary of:
1) The OEM case I bought came without an antenna glued to the top back piece, and was missing little pieces of plastic for holding the stylus in, etc. As a result it would have taken a HUGE amount of work to rebuild the case.
2) I bought an 'As New' housing from a reclaimed phone, and it was FAR from as new. It looked far worse than my current housing, so I sent it back.

Replacing the blackstone's battery cover

I've just bought an OEM battery cover off eBay recently to replace mine that has the Telstra logo on it. The battery cover seemed fine and solid, and it looked and felt alot like the original one.
But the only problem is that it has no grill/metal netting on the hole for the speaker. Any idea how I can come about this? Or how I can remove the grill from the original cover and glue it back on the replacement?
Thanks in advance.!
I just bought a new back cover too, it is impossible to tell the difference! $24 US delivered, HTC want US$100 delivered
The speaker mesh can be very easily pushed out from the opposite side, only lite adhesive holds it in place.
It is the volume key that proves a slight challange but even that is no big deal, just a very fine flat head screw driver to pry out plastic welds by inserting the fine screw driver as close to each weld as possible so as not to break the delicate plastic.
where dit u order them??
I got mine form ebay
However someone needs to design one with these features:
Piano black style (same as phone)
Alternate colours
Perfectly aligned reset hole
Small closable door to remove SD Card
Tighter fit to prevent the horrible crackling noises (especially around the volume keys)
This would sell like hot cakes!
I just received mine from MSG Distributors NY and it did cost around $30 delivered but what a huge difference over the Telus stock cover. This one does include the mesh grill. I ordered this due to the camera bezel being scratched on my used Telus 8285.
It does NOT have the squeaks the original cover had, it's much tighter fit and sturdier too.

Thanks all. I peeled the speaker mesh with a pocket knife.
The replacement ones look and feel better, so definitely not worth a 100 bucks on an original one. Too bad the replacement one doesn't come with volume rockers as well. So again, I had to carefully take the original one off.
P/S - Bought mine from eBay..

OEM Flip Case Differences

Maybe I can save someone else the trouble, or maybe everyone else already knows this, but... I really like the OEM Samsung flip case that comes in a few colors and replaces the back cover of the phone, keeping it very sleek and protecting the screen. I have discovered that even though sellers (Amazon & eBay, but I'm sure not Samsung) say that it will fit models i717 and N7000, there is a distinct difference.
I have bought 2 that had to be returned because they did not fit my AT&T model. The way to tell them apart is the plastic plate on the inside of the back cover with 2 little metal dots. This is the AT&T model. If the dots are missing, it's the N7000 model. The clips that hold the back cover on are slightly different on the 2 models and one won't fit the other. It is otherwise impossible to tell from the outside which is which.
I couldn't find a photo of the one with the dots (and too lazy to take one), but this is the one without.
Those dots have a purpose...The black sticker (white sticker if white cover), is the NFC antenna. That's how you know it's for the AT&T version.

I wondered about that. I saw another thread mentioning antenna and thought that might be it. Thanks for clarifying.
Yeah, np.

As an aside, I purchased this about a month ago thinking it would work with my i717:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-BLACK-A...I&otn=3&po=LVI&ps=63&clkid=812258500406918077
It didnt, but I was able to retro fit it with an exacto knife. Had to cut off two tabs completely and halve another four. Its completely secure. Just wish they made this for the i717.

What about the lack of an antenna?
With the right tools and trimming you could make it fit but it will not fit out of the box. It will not be as secure as one made for the i717

This case is nice at first but there are few issues I ran into after using them. First issue is that if you get the white cover which looks nice and clean, using for few weeks the inside fabric part gets dirty fast. Second, the gummy like glue or whatever it is called which holds the front side leather and the inner side fabric together falls apart in few weeks as well so case gets ruined and sticky so wouldnt want to use it any longer. One last thing is that if you happen to drop the phone by an accident, before it lands, the cover opens up so big possibility that your screen will hit the floor and also want to mention that the back cover actually comes off the phone (the case really is crappy when phone drops). I think the only pro part is that it is very thin (probably the thinnest flip cover case). For all the cons, using about 30bucks is not worth it in my opinion.

Problem with official Samsung Galaxy Note 3 S-View Cover

Hey guys,
I got an official S-view cover from ATT store (Black) for my new note 3. I love it except for one major problem. When I fold the cover open around the back and set it down on something like a desk or table. Eventually the phone will sit completely flat against the cover and I am noticing that the cover will engage S-view mode on the phone while it it folded around the back of the phone. This is super annoying, because when its in S-View mode the phone is essentially locked and I can't do anything with it unless I un-fold the cover from around the back. I thought maybe I had a bad cover with super strong magnets or something so I returned it to ATT and bought another one from T-Mobile (This was the advice I got from Samsung support). I having the exact same problem with this one. Now I think its my phone. I can replicate this problem anytime by simply putting pressure on phone the and cover while it is folded around the back. When I hold the phone in my hand with the cover around the back it is not as prevalent because phone usually is not sitting completely flat to the cover (because the cover is still new). Once it breaks in and gets flimsy this will happen all the time completely limiting phone functional while the cover is around the back. I had the an S-View cover on a S4 and it never had this problem. Can any of you guys replicate this issue or do I have a bad phone. Please help, I need to know if I need to exchange my phone. Thanks in advance.

I've got the same problem here. It seems to be an issue of either the little magnet on the bottom of the cover being too strong or the sensor on the phone being too sensitive. Definitely annoying and poorly designed. I don't know of any solution. I just wedge my finger behind the cover to prevent it from tripping, but that's hardly a solution.
Can't help you with this issue.. but I got bought two knock-offs on the web and never experience anything like that. Probably the way it's built with the OEM case.
I have the same problem with my sview case for note 3.
Interesting issue. I have the wireless charging s-view case and I can confirm that this dos not happen with it. I guess that is due to the thicker back cover portion.

Replacement back cover

Anyone successfully repplaced the glass back on their Z2? My original cracked (just sitting in the car - wasn't dropped!)
Order a new one from ebay, fitted it but it did not stick down very securely and cracked after an hour. A replacement was sent and again this didn;t stick down very securely and cracked after day.
So where can I get a high quality back cover in the UK?
thanks
happened to me also......it won't stick unless you get it done from an authorized service center.....
The Solution:-
use super strong glue (i used fevikwik), take a pin and pour drops on the edges of the glass back and stick it....secure it in place with some clips for 15-20 mins.

Thanks, Yeah, that is next to try. I'm going to order this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-S...712051?hash=item234f628533:g:gfkAAOSwcwhVNPRn
and stick it down with some adhesive.
I am very tired of replacing the xperia z2 back door ordered from ebay. I ordered more than 3 glasses and everything has its own fault. Most of the glasses mismatch with the flashlight hole resulting in glare in the photos when flash ON. And the glue too is very week. I finally used flexiqwik because you can easily remove the glue for any hardware replacement. I need a original glass. Can somebody tell where can in get it.
Note : My original back door glass broke when my z2 accidentaly fall from my house top. I got a new glass door from replacebase.co.uk website in UK. But it too is a duplicate. Then i started to buy from ebay where all are duplicates or faulty. Finally i left my z2 without backdoors.
In my country (Thailand), I brought Genuine Backdoor from Service Center and replace by my own. but It's so expensive (1080 THB = 30.4 US Dollar). It have adhesive and new NFC. I don't know about privacy in other country. I think you should ask to Service Center in your country.
In Vietnam, we send our phone to Sony Service Center. They will fix it and call us when finish.
