Recently my Neo has developed this problem where the screen is dimmer, it occurred when I had to replace my touchscreen as I broke it when I removed it whilst I was trying to remove some sand... Anyway it just makes my screen really hard to read in the sun light, I just find it odd though as it obviously sounds like a hardware issue due to the likely cause of the problem and the fact that I've reinstalled my phones firmware many times to no effect. Also that seems to be the only problem other than what should be a white background being a slightly creamy colour but again it's odd cause it doesn't do that in many. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or have experienced any similar problems though I can't afford to dismantle my phone many more times as the screw heads are wearing away. Also before you suggest I have already tried numerous Disable Auto Brightness apps to no effect.
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
Also I forgot to mention that the contrast is perfect still if not sharper.
I'm 100% sure that's hardware issue...
Did you replace your touchscreen by yourself or went to sony for replacement?
If you replaced it by yourself your warranty is voided and only solution is phone disassemly again, but if sony replaced your touchscreen go to them and explain them your problem
Ok thanks, but wouldn't there be visible wear if the LCD screen was damaged so is it possible it's a loose connection? I mean the brightness literally is the only problem.
Also I replaced the screen myself and I knew I was voiding the warranty, though quick question, how can they tell I've opened my phone?
One last final question, at the moment it's almost bearable so would it be worth just leaving as it is or is there a possibility of it suddenly dying on me?
Thanks again

if you are on official GB based roms this patch will increase the current in your lcd and increase your brightness to its highest possible also disables the auto brightness
remember it can cause hardware failure too so use it on your own risk
i used it before there were no problems
remeber to backup first

Thanks again, though I have ICS,Pureness, is there any chance of it working still?
Also do you know if it could actually be a loose cable inside?

give it a try
but remmeber to make a backup first
i dont know how to port it to ics roms but it's gonna increase current in your lcd and disable auto brightness too as i said above
try to ask ThilinaC to port it for you and add it to add-ons
Ok well when I have the time I'll backup and give it a try , though I may also see what values he changed in the files and just do that instead. However it will probably just be which ever I feel like though .

I have been using HD2 for 4 months now and I am quite fond of it. However, my camera decided to go on the fritz recently and honestly i have no idea why it acts like this. Please see the attached pictures.
I can confirm that all the camera effects are off and I haven't installed anything new. I can still take normal photos, occasionally under normal conditions. Problem seems to be worse under bad lighting conditions.
My white balance and iso settings are set to "auto". Changing neither these nor the saturation and color balance settings made any difference.
Have you seen something like this before? All suggestions are welcome...
try flashing a custom ROM, they usually have the newest builds of the camera app
or
backup your data and try a hard reset. If this doesn't fix your issue you might need to send it in for repairs as it will most probably be a hardware issue.
Thanks for your reply. I tried a hard reset but it didn't work. I think I will hand over my device for repairs.

Is it just me, or is there some problems with the auto brightness feature on this phone? From time to time the screen suddenly get a lot darker, even without the lightning in the room changing at all.
My phone is Telenor(Norway) branded, with the firmware: PDA:XWKF3| PHONE:XXKE7| CSC:TENKF1
Did some searching on the issue, and found some articles saying this should have been fixed in a firmware update, checked with Kies and i got the latest firmware, so either this wasn't really fixed, or is there something weird with my phone? Or something else maybe?

Yep your hand is over the sensor. I run with it disabled since it doesn't work well at all, and it's so easy to manually adjust brightness by swiping the notification bar.
Gotten a clearer view on what the problem is now, the auto brightness it self seems to work, but it's a bit slow and very direct. If am in a light environment and it gets dark, it doesn't start lowering brightness right away, but it takes 3-5 seconds and boom brightness goes very low. That's why i thought it was something wrong with it.
In my opinion they need to smooth the auto brightness out, and let it react faster, would make it a lot better.
Hello, I want your help to fix my xperia go touchscreen problem. Well, Ive searched the similar problem on the forum but what I found is about "touchscreen not working" only.. was, it's very easy to text and slide trough the screens without any "not so responsive screen".. after few months my xgo became less sensitive like before, when I tried to type as fast as usual. The screen cant detect my touch.. I compared with my friend's xgo and it is easier to text on his xgo.. its because I flashed wrong rom? I flashed one roms so far (superJB and currently back on stock with phantom 1.0.9 kernel) thanks.
Xgo .100 JB with UBL.
Open your device's build.prop using any text editor and check
ro.sf.lcd_density=??
Compare its value with your friend's xperia go and edit it accordingly. After you've done with editing, restart your device.
Check screenshot in the attachment.
Note: Do not put value similar to that of screenshot. It is just for your reference.
If I helped you then press Thank you.

My Xperia Go has the exact same problem recently. It just started happening a few days ago and nothing has changed on the device (software etc). I used to be able to text VERY fast but now it sometimes takes a few pushes of the keys for the device to recognise my touch. I can't believe it is anything in the build.prop as this would have suddenly changed right? MY LCD density there is set to 160 (which is the same as default).
Any help appreciated...
EDIT - I also noticed that since my touchscreen has become un-responsive I had got battery drain issues. The last 2 nights I have gone to sleep and when I have woken up my battery is almost dead... hmmm

Yesterday I purchased this awesome phablet but I found few bugs.
I already updated to 14.1.B.1.510
1) screen of death -2 times.(volume down + power key help me to reboot)
2) Touch response during charging is very weird..
3) I never saw such a ugly camera.
So I Want To Know Should I Replace It OR its software fault
54 views but no response. Friend please let me know this is hardware fault or software fault.
When I put my mobile on charging screen touch becomes less responsive.
Anyone facing this problem
Please reply me it's very costly mobile...
And is there any permanent solution for SOD.( screen of death)
1. Try ticking the optimized backlight setting, or turn off adaptive brigthness, or factory reset, or repair via pcc. Or claim warranty.
2. No not for me, still sensitive enough I don't see noticable difference when charging. Try charging it in different place (other than your home or something) or try using another charger.
3. Yes, downright ugly.

2. I remember reading about a lot of Note owners having trouble with the touchscreen while charging. Not sure if it got fixed through an update, but it never got mentioned again (as far as I know), which has to be a good sign?

From the first day it was reported no one truly knows whether it was software or hardware. Firmware update seems to make a lot of reports die down, but not all - making it likely to be software. The trigger seems random and varying it suggests it could be hardware for some.
Hell, no one knows. I never had sod in my old fw (461 and 475, but I used it only for a very short time) but on 510 (wiped clean) I do experience occasional "fake death" issue, but I only need to press the power button two times max to wake up the device. So well, maybe its not even sod.

My previous phone was huawei with amoled, and the sensitivity while charging was very bad. Turns out every device was like that. My zu isn't, clearly. Wonder if the OP's case is really that bad.

I currently use the Galaxy Note 1 running on Jellybeer (custom ROM) and will be going for the Ultra LTE (100% sure no backing out.. lol)
2. Weird touch behavior while charging is present on the Galaxy Note.. I am using my Original charger + Cable and I notice that it is not really sensitive whenever I use it while plugged in.. Worst is at the middle and gets better as you go out to the edge of the screen. (problem gets amplified if I get into skin contact with anything that has direct contact with the ground)
I suggest trying out a different cable or socket as it seems like your body and the charger gets grounded to earth somewhat.
Try using your Ultra while touching the wall or standing barefoot on cement and see if it gets worse..
My screen of the Truemate is WAY too sensitive: moving above already gives a lot of input.
Touching is impossible: many inputs at the same time.
I cannot use it.
Factory Default reset doesn't work. Latest update installed.
Who can help?
There seems not to be a support dept. that reacts or answers.
Please help!

I have had the same issue. Clean ur screen often. Static electricity is one of the bigger reasons this touchscreen becomes too sensitive. When this happens, grounding myself usually fixes the problem.
I read about this in another post....Go out and get yourself a ZAGG screen protector. Doesn't matter which phone model or make, as you will have to cut it down to the TS size. You can find many of these on sale from earlier released phones...the best to find is the Note 2....this gives you the largest sheet of their protection material. Just in case you have to do multiple tries.
Good luck

When I receive my watch I'll build mod for lower brightness (longer battery life) and touch screen sensitivity tweak...
For now, root your device and wait for mod - we have to edit few files, cleaning screen or applying screen protector won't harn but won't help either.
It's ridiculous that developers edition comes last, but that's the way it is...

Mine was originally WAY over sensitive as well... but after installing Loki's ROM and/or the patch I don't seem to have the problem. Don't know if it is related but if you haven't patched or updated.... DO IT!
