Hey,
Here's the link : http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-I9100G&r=2#regiona
There you can select the Malaysian firmware for instance (since it's the latest amongst)
But first find your own firmware (the KI1) and save it on your laptop just in case you needed to fallback.
As for the procedure of flashing it's very simple, it has been listed by so many users on the forum here.
What I usually follow is this one:
###Downloads###
1- Install Samsung Kies from samsung.com
2- download the package from sammobile (it will mostly redirect you to hotfile.com, and you will have to download a (340MB ZIP)
3- Download Odin3 V1.83, it is the most appropriate with the GT-I9100G
####INSTALLATIONS#####
1- Install Samsung Kies [Needed later by ODIN for driver use]
2- Once Kies is installed and is able to run, close it and kill all the KIES processes in the Windows TASK Manager.
3- Make a directory in the C:\tmp for your update [name it without spaces]
4- Place the firmware pkg and Odin pkg there
5- Extract the firmware ZIP and the Odin ZIP
6- Take down the GS2 to download mode [syncro: POwer + Home + Vol_down]
7- start Odin
8- Connect the GS2 to the USB [if you're on a PC, use the back USBs]
9- Odin will identify its recognition of the GS2 with a yellow marker saying [ID:COMX]
10- Make sure you check only the AutoReboot and the F.Reset Time [NOTHING ELSE]
11- Click on PDA and go to your unzipped firmware directory [where you will have a .tar.md5 file] and select that file
12- Press on start in Odin
13- Odin should do the flash
14- The Phone will reboot if all is successful
15- Voila, you're done ))
this one is old stock rom 2.3.6 , update way back on September '11.

Hmm ... DIY.
1. Get an official ROM
Download an install Check Fus Downloader from here => http://fus.nanzen.se/
It's a Windows application, checking the latest officially released firmware for your phone in your region, and download it directly from Samsung servers.
Just select the OS (Android), the phone "GT-I9100" and your region, then click "Check firmware", then "Dowload".
Extract the zip file, and you have the ROM tar file.
2. Flash this official ROM
This can easily flashed by Odin, here is a good description of how to flash a firmware with Odin => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278.
And Odin is attached to the first post.
Download an install it on your PC.
The do as described to flash the new stock ROM to your phone.
3. Root your phone
Then you need to root your phone. There are different methods. Easiest is to flash a rooted kernel, such as CF-Root from here => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399&highlight=CF+Root
Just pick the corresponding CF-Root kernel to your ROM, such as CF-Root for XWLP7 when you have flashed XWLP7 ROM to your phone.
4. Reset the flash counter
Then install TriangleAway app from Play store, or from here => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494114&highlight=triangleaway
Start the app and select "Reset counter".
This will remove the yellow triangle from boot screen and reset the flash counter.
5. Unroot the phone
Flash the stock kernel with Odin to your phone.
Stock kernel is the zImage file from the stock ROM.
You can extract the zImage file of the ROM tar file, copy it to the phone, start CWM Manager app, select "Flash kernel" and select the zImage file.
If CWM Manager app and SuperSU app are still visible, just uninstall those apps.
It is not very easy ... Ok.
But you can find a lot of good descriptions here on XDA.
And when having issues or questions, just post into the corresponding thread and you will get help.

Follow the info above and links and I'm sure you'll be fine.
The most important thing to do is follow instructions exactly, read over them again before clicking start and make sure everything is where it should be in Odin and that the correct boxes are ticked/unticked.
It's actually quite easy if you follow instructions properly.
make sure you have a good USB cable (preferably the official one)
And make sure the USB port on your computer is not dodgy and working 100%.
Good luck!

If your phone's custom status is still stock (counter zero), and you would like to tryout a custom firmware, then note that there are ways to flash a custom configuration without triggering the counter. One (free) method requires flashing a pre-rooted stock image and then flashing the custom boot and/or recovery images manually (not involving Odin)

GT-I9210 Based MF1 Stock Root Ready
This version is based on stock GT-I9210 MF1. You can toggle root/unroot state by pressing VolumeUp/VolumeDown/Power simultaneously and wait for 3 to 5 seconds for the rooting mechanism to initiate and complete... there is a full screen visual indication. When unrooting, it will fully unroot the phone and also remove the Superuser app. This firmware comes in handy for anyone who needs to run root-shy apps on their phone (for example banking apps). USB Debugging nust be enabled in the Developer Options settings menu.
This image includes all European display languages and Korean as the only Asian language (so NO chinese, thai, japanese, etc...). HK/TW chinese IME is included as well. NFC, S-Beam and other goodies all seem to work correctly too.

Flashing with Odin
Prerequisites:
- PC with Windows installation (preferably some recent Windows version like Windows 7)
- Download Kies from Samsung's website and install it, we will need some of the drivers that come with it
- Start Kies and make sure to disable automatic start up when connecting to a Samsung phone
(Tools->Preferences)
- An original Samsung usb cable (people have reported experiencing problems with third party and other cheap cables)
- Download Odin here...
- Download latest (pre-rooted/unmodified) samsung/SKT stock rom; you need to have an Odin flashable .tar or .tar.md5 file, so if that was packed in another type of archive in your download, then unpack it.
- Make backups of all your important stuff (pictures etc...)
Flashing:
- start Odin
- turn the phone off and start it in Download mode
do this by pressing Volume-Down/Home/Power simultaneously until the Download startup screen appears,
then immediately press Volume-Up to confirm
- connect your phone with the usb cable
wait for the drivers to initialize and for Odin to recognize the phone
you will know when Odin displays a COM port # in the ID:COM section and 'Added' in the Message box
- In Odin ONLY select 'Auto Reboot' and 'F. Reset Time', all other options remain UNCHECKED
- In Odin select 'PDA' and browse to and select the .tar or .tar.md5 ROM file
- click on Start, sit back and wait for the flashing procedure to complete... the phone will then reboot
(don't touch the phone and don't touch the usb cable... the connector(s) on my cable are starting to wear out and because of that, if I accidentally touch it during the flashing process, nine out of ten times, it will cause the process to fail)
I recommend resetting the phone to factory defaults after flashing any major release bump, you can do this from within Android in the Settings->Backup and reset menu, or from within Recovery. To enter Recovery, turn off the phone, then press Volume-Up/Volume-Down/Power simultaneously until you see the Samsung logo, once the Samsung logo appears only release the Power button and keep the Volume buttons pressed until the Recovery menu shows... the menu is self-explanatory (navigate with Volume buttons and select with Power button)
Some people will recommend using ClockworkMod's Recovery. It requires one time use of Odin to flash a custom Recovery partition which offers a more extensive set of commands to flash and change parts of the phone's configuration. Currently there's recovery options from CWM (both key and touch versions) and TWRP (touch version).
If you make mistakes, you can potentially soft-brick your phone (or if the (custom) ROM is dodgy). Don't worry though, as long as the phone's Bootloader partition is NOT touched, then you will always be able to recover with Odin.
Warning!
Do not use PIT files unless you know what you are doing. If you use incorrect PIT files to flash an image, you can potentially hard-brick your phone!
Good luck!
PS. If you've done all of the above (correctly) and you are still running into problems, post your queries in this thread or send me a PM... always glad to help.
Good. Thank for all the efford you put to reupload the rom. (bow)

All factory and pre-rooted stock ROMs can be flashed.
The Custom ROM section contains references that were collected from other threads; these ROMs are supposed to be for the SHV-E110S as well, but I have no personal experience with them.
As far as 80 character sms limit, the stock ROMs have this limitation to date. It is an ongoing issue being looked into. The AOKP and CM custom ROMs do not have this limit, but may exert some anomalies that you may or may not be willing to put up with.

Revert from CM10 to stock rom via Odin?
Salut, davidcsv.
I'm currently using CM10 flashed via CWM recovery. Now I want to back your UH31 stock rom.
Can I flash directly stock rom via Odin?? Or I have to manipulate with CWM recovery?
Another question if anyone has answer. I found that there is an EU version of this model GT-I9210 (portugal and sweden). Anybody tried these rom on SHV-E110S? Essentially, I need French language & MMS...
Or, maybe stock UH31 prerooted + message apk and keyboard.apk from i9210 rom...

Enter odin download mode on the phone with voldwn/home/power three button procedure and flash a complete ROM image like for example the stock UH31 with Odin. After flashing, enter the stock recovery and wipe cache and reset to factory defaults... That should revert your phone back to a stock condition.
The GT-I9210's latest ICS ROM is based on a slightly older release of ICS. After tweaking the system partition size I managed to get it working on my SHV-E110S... But sound wasn't working and there was an annoying popup msg about battery being disconnected when it was plugged in with usb. I am currently exploring other options but need a little bit nore time. The message apk will not work on UH31 because SKT managed to somehow alter the framework to shun messaging apps other than their own... I am also looking into this at the moment.

:good:
Thanks a lot for many informations!!
I supposed that sound may not work with I9210 rom, coz I saw a message of I9210 owner on another thread told that his I9210 with E110S custom rom had sound problem...
SKT use their own message system in Korea, maybe they managed system as you told... In korean forum, someone told about message app had language code problem. SKT doesn't use Unicode system.. Look about it if you didn't yet.
I'm totaly newbie, so I may have to wait your developpment..
And, when you managed the message work, plz add also EU language+samsung keyboard if possible.. That will be so cool.. :good:

If you can enter Download mode, then you should be fairly safe. Yeah, flash the latest rom and then enter recovery mode to wipe the cache and reset to factory defaults.

i got one more problem. powering it on does not do anything, no vibrate no anything,
i did not yet flash a rom. maybe it was low battery. i was charging it now.
later i entered the download mode and it goes off. hoping that it was just low battery.
i installed kies and i have odin v3. i will try that after i download the rom.
