[Q] Stock ROM Flashing - CSC missing - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I got my phone with I9300XXALE8_I9300OXAALE8. Downloaded the latest version I9300XXALF2_I9300OXAALF2 from sammobile. It is coming with a single file PDA and flashed via odin without pit. But after flashing CSC is unknown. So tried to change the CSC *#272#IMEI# but the list is empty. So decided to flash back to I9300XXALE8_I9300OXAALE8 and I got the CSC back. Again tried to flash the latest one and the result is same CSC unknown. So back to I9300XXALE8_I9300OXAALE8, but this time I didnt get the CSC on this version, same like new version unknown.
Finally flashed I9300XXALF2_I9300OXAALF2 and I got CSC on this time. I dont have any idea why this misbehavior is happening while flashing. Any suggestions?
Quick look..
1. Flash I9300XXALF2_I9300OXAALF2 - Result-unknown CSC
2. Flash I9300XXALE8_I9300OXAALE8 - Result-CSC is there
3. Flash I9300XXALF2_I9300OXAALF2 - Result-unknown CSC
4. Flash I9300XXALE8_I9300OXAALE8 - Result-unknown CSC
5. Flash I9300XXALF2_I9300OXAALF2 - Result-CSC is there
Regards...

Any luck resolving that issue?

[Q] All CSCs disappeared after flashing I9100XWKE7 XEUKD1 XXKE4 [Solved]

After flashing I9100XWKE7 XEUKD1 XXKE4 with Odin, after the reboot there was a message saying 'No access to .../csc/system...' or 'Can't access .../csc/system...'.
Phone booted successfully, firmware version upgraded but when I check with *#272*IMEI# - no CSCs are available at all. It only shows my current one.
Anyone else with the same problem?

If you took the time to research you'd have seem that it's not a multi-CSC package but only contains XEU csc. This is not a problem, it's working correctly. If you want another CSC that flash a firmware package containing that CSC.
Thanks guys.
@Intreatech, no, XEU is okay for me, it's the one I actually want.

How can i change csc in a custom rom..?

Hello guys!
I want to ask something.
I have just rooted my sgsII with a CF-Root 5.5
and i have installed through cwmr, a custom rom.
Everything is fine!
I have a question..
I want to change the csc that custom rom have (NEELP4)
with the OXXLPH (i have download the csc file).
So, can you tell me how?
Thanks in advance!
Using Odin.
Put the phone in download mode
Put the csc in csc and flash. Remember it might wipe the phone.
I tried that once, but then the phone stack at boot screen..
If this is the correct method, i will try again.
(i checked only the csc box at odin).
Any other suggestions before i give a 2nd chance with ODIN..?
Why dont you flash a custom ROM like mine.It has a muti CSC pack including the CSC for Greece because the Dev is greek. It would be a lot easier and less risky.Click on the link below that says ICS
Thanks for your advice.
I want to try for some days the rom i have now..
Any other suggestions?
Is the correct procedure to flash only the csc with ODIN?
Yeah mate just put it CSC dont select anything else and then hit the start button.Could wipe some data you have on your phone and some say that you should do a factory reset after the phone boots so if you have Titanium then backup your apps.

[A] How to fix CSC: unknown and Messages FC after unrooting S3

Sometimes you will have to unroot your Galaxy S3 and like it happend to me and a lot of others, there are often problems with the CSC and Messages App.
If you google for "s3 csc unkown" your will get a lot of threads, without a real answer. So I've tried myself a few ways and figured out how to fix this problem really easy.
You want to unroot your phone and flash the Stock ROM it arrived with? There are 2 ways to handle this:
a) Way 1 - the easy way
1. you flash the stock rom as 1-file via odin
2. check if csc is unkown (dialer -> *#1234#)
3. find the missing csc as file online*
4. go to download-mode (vol-down+home+power-on)
5. flash only the csc file via odin
6. reboot and enjoy
Because most of the Stock ROMs are 1-file you will not find the fitting CSC as single-file, so you have to go Way 2:
b) Way 2 - the way working for everyone
1. flash the Stock ROM one version older than the Stock ROM you want to install
2. check if csc is unkown (dialer -> *#1234#)
3. take some old csc file online* (one fitting best to your rom date)
4. go to download-mode (vol-down+home+power-on)
5. flash only the csc file via odin
6. reboot and check if csc changed (dialer -> *#1234#)
7. go to download-mode and flash the stock rom you wanted in the first place
8. reboot and check if csc has changed
9. enjoy your genuine Samsung Galaxy S III
* You can find some CSC files here: https://androidfirmwares.net/PhoneCSC3
Search the one fitting best to your ROM. You can check the CSC Code for your rom (settings -> about phone)
More information how to flash csc, radio, roms you can find in this grat thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671969
I hope that will help others saving hours to unroot their phones.

[Q] CSC unknown

Hello,
had stock XEO ROM. Decided to switch to BTU. Took latest release (XXEMB1) from Sammobile and flashed it via Odin. Now even *#1234# shows its XXEMB1, my CSC is actually unknown and Kies does not support it (shows its KOR). How do i fix that and make my CSC be BTU? Thank You.
Gytis
If you flashed via Odin then it's normal and dont expect kies support. If you back to stock firmware and wait via OTA or Kies then you can see your csc and kies support.

Thats strange. So the only way is to untar FW, extract cashe.img, find BTU in CSC directory, copy its content into main CSC directory to overwrite KOR content. Make img file again, tar it and try to flash?
first of all CSC unknown is not a big issue, you can use the phone normally.
second, for most people (incl. me) reflashing the rom will give you back the CSC (if nothing was changed with the newer firmwares).
to change the CSC, try CSC changer from market or search for a flashable zip here on xda
So, to sum up: extracting CSC and pasting BTU content over default content in CSC dir did not help - flashed only modified CSC.tar.md5 and still, Kies shows KOR and not supported. Decided to flash back to initial stock SEB FW. Did that and still no success - my CSC is KOR in Kies. Seems like once you flashed via Odin, you are forever lost...
