Titanium Backup, ROM Toolbox, System Cleanup ( you can find it here on XDA or Play Store) or using a Root Explorer - delete the apk files

So i should just directly delete the apk from the /system/app folder?

You should backup the folder on sdcard first
...Xperia neo...KA ICS 21.1...Suave v6...

Titanium backup is probably the easiest way to do it.

Uninstalling In-built Applications (or Apps that came with phone)

Hey everyone, i'm currently using a xperia x10i - 2.3.3 - rooted.
I looked around alot and I couldn't find the steps to un-installing applications that came with the phone.
Some Applications that came with my phone include: Hami, Hami Apps, HamiBook, KKBOX and a whole lot of other asian applications (I got my phone from eBay). I don't use any of these applications and they are apps that arent supposed to come with the phone (like messaging etc.)
Anyways I can't uninstall them normally but i really want them gone, my device is rooted and I heard it's possible to remove them. Can someone please help and tell me how to do so?
Thanks!
use the titanium backup apk. Go to the backup and restore in titanium backup and search for the application for delete. click on that and select uninstall! Hope i helped you
Or, mount file system as r/w, and mavigate to /system/apps. Delete the .apk's from there.
Titanium Backup ★ root but also ASTRO File Manager
Titanium Backup ★ root but also ASTRO File Manager.
Titanium Backup to uninstall the apps and future backup an app management .
ASTRO File Manager (for file an Phone management) To find all the data that the apps left behind if you don't delete the data an backups then when you login to the market they could say installed, besides you do not know if they are spammer apps or what. I would just delete them all an data too with out backing them up. And then do a Titanium Backup. Or just do a Sony repair or better yet do a factory reset an do a Sony repair then flash a stock/generic 2.3.3 for your region. Just to be sure that way you know what you have. And here are some links too do all that just read and watch the videos and it's easy too do, The first one is the easiest but you can look at them all to be the judge.

But the problem is he got the phone off EBAY and most sms/mms have access to all the phone accounts so I think the best thing to do is WIPE ALL reflash/reroot because the phone is rooted and you don't know where/who the phone really came from or who made the apps. Just to be sure i think that would be a good thing to do don't you, I mean if I/you got a hard drive or sold one you/I would wipe it, The phone is the same thing it's just a different type of computer/hard drive.

[Q] backup / safe stock swype (e.g. as .apk)?

hi there,
I just searched the forum and couldn't find something...
is it possible to backup my existing stock-swype (for example as .apk) so that I can use it later on with e.g. CM7...?
I know that there's a swype beta, but this has an expiration date and I would like to continue to use my stock swype e.g. in CM7...
thank you very much...
Use something like Titanium Backup (IF YOU ARE ROOTED) and you can backup System apps.

ah, okay... didn't know, that swype easily is just a system-app. but that's nice.
so when I back it up via Titanium Backup, will I get an .apk, which I can use to install swype e.g. in CM7? will it work there?
If you back it up with Titanium you can restore it to any ROM you are using. Just restore the app and not the settings.
Other way is to go into system/app and copy the swype app and save it somewhere then you can install it by placing it in system/app of your new ROM and rebooting.

sounds promising! thank you!
On a side note titanium backup will most likely create a zip with your swipe apk in it if I remember correctly.

Getting Swype to work with some roms can be a pain in the arse. I recommend SlideIt from Market if you come across a rom which doesn't work with Swype easily. I've tested this with 4 different roms & it works perfectly with each, no dramas with install, no FC's. $6 well spent.

Why not the settings?
How do you generally know to restore with or without the settings?

[Q]Export a widget from Stock and import Custom Rom

I'm using an S2 and what I really hate to lose when I change into a custom ROM is its calendar widget. So is it possible if I revert back to stock rom and extract that widget to be used in a custom ROM?

Yes, you can. Just flash a Stock ROM, root the phone and install Root Explorer and Link2SD. Open Link2SD, look for the Calendar app and see the directory.Take note of it. Then, open Root Explorer and go to the directory you found on Link2SD, always is /system/app, but it can be different. Copy to your SD Card, flash the new ROM, Root the phone again and install Root Explorer. Now go to the same folder and paste the Calendar apk and do a restore.
OK?

I was thinking of using a single backup app. Something like backing up that particular app through app manager(using a backup app) and install it once I flash to custom rom. But im not sure whether it is compatible or not.
I'll try your method and will post up whether it works or not. Thanks^^

[Q] How to remove Games by PopCap

Hello all,
I've recently rooted my sk17i and removed some stock apps using Terminal Emulator and it worked perfect for me.
But I still have two apps that I want to remove but I am not able to find thier .apk name:
1. Games by PopCap
2. Games & apps
Any one know which .apk s to remove ??
Thanks
Install an app that gives you ability to view system files and folder (Root Explorer or ES File Explorer), navigate to system/app folder using one of the aftermentioned apps, and there will you find apps you want to delete.
Edit: I don't know their correct names, but you will be able to reckognize them by icon.
Use Titanium Backup and you will find it quite fast.

Thank you Deyo
I tried that before but didn't work
now I installed Root Uninstaller and could remove those apps
How come?, as I used those two app for the same reason as you - deleting unwanted apps, and there were no problem.

Titanium Backup shows ALL apps(system and user) installed on your phone by their name, allows you to backup and restore them with userdata and lots of other stuff. Check it out, it is actually a must-have root app.

Does.root.works.with.another apps? If.yes, rename your.titanium.backup.folder on.as cArd just in case, then.delete titanium.backup data.in settings.and rename folder back to original name and try then if.it won't work.try to.uninstall and install titanium again
Edit: also.make sure that you installed root libs from an.superuser.app, as both of them use.another libs, so one wouldn't work with libs from another

I can't see superuser also in my TB. I guess it's really not shown in TB. You can remove and replace manually.
