Does.root.works.with.another apps? If.yes, rename your.titanium.backup.folder on.as cArd just in case, then.delete titanium.backup data.in settings.and rename folder back to original name and try then if.it won't work.try to.uninstall and install titanium again
Edit: also.make sure that you installed root libs from an.superuser.app, as both of them use.another libs, so one wouldn't work with libs from another

I can't see superuser also in my TB. I guess it's really not shown in TB. You can remove and replace manually.

[Q] backup / safe stock swype (e.g. as .apk)?

hi there,
I just searched the forum and couldn't find something...
is it possible to backup my existing stock-swype (for example as .apk) so that I can use it later on with e.g. CM7...?
I know that there's a swype beta, but this has an expiration date and I would like to continue to use my stock swype e.g. in CM7...
thank you very much...
Use something like Titanium Backup (IF YOU ARE ROOTED) and you can backup System apps.

ah, okay... didn't know, that swype easily is just a system-app. but that's nice.
so when I back it up via Titanium Backup, will I get an .apk, which I can use to install swype e.g. in CM7? will it work there?
If you back it up with Titanium you can restore it to any ROM you are using. Just restore the app and not the settings.
Other way is to go into system/app and copy the swype app and save it somewhere then you can install it by placing it in system/app of your new ROM and rebooting.

sounds promising! thank you!
On a side note titanium backup will most likely create a zip with your swipe apk in it if I remember correctly.

Getting Swype to work with some roms can be a pain in the arse. I recommend SlideIt from Market if you come across a rom which doesn't work with Swype easily. I've tested this with 4 different roms & it works perfectly with each, no dramas with install, no FC's. $6 well spent.

Why not the settings?
How do you generally know to restore with or without the settings?

I accidentally deleted an app!

Titanium Backup, ROM Toolbox, System Cleanup ( you can find it here on XDA or Play Store) or using a Root Explorer - delete the apk files

So i should just directly delete the apk from the /system/app folder?
You should backup the folder on sdcard first
...Xperia neo...KA ICS 21.1...Suave v6...
Titanium backup is probably the easiest way to do it.

[Q] Titanium Backup Restore System Apps

Having trouble restoring System App: NFC.APK
I intend to swap between two different NFC.APK using Titanium Backup
The original NFC.APK is from ROM LK4
The Modified NFC.APK is from ROM LK3
1.) In Titanium Backup, backup the Original NFC.APK
2.) In Root Explorer, Replace the Original NFC.APK with the Modified NFC.APK, -REBOOT Device
3.) In Titanium Backup, Backup the Modified NFC.APK
4.) In Titanium Backup, Restore the original NFC.APK
Results: Nothing happens, Titanium Backup says restore succeeded. But the modified NFC.APK is still there.
Why doesn't restore work?
Options selected:
-USB Debugging
make sure you've enabled backing up system apks
Yep it's enabled

and it asks you whether to restore the app or data?
try converting it to a user app and restoring, then converting it back
Yes, those data/apk options were presented.
You might be right, Might needed to convert to user app for it to work.

[Q] System apps backup and remove

Hi Folks,
I want to backup all the system apps and remove the unnecessary apps which are running in background. Is it good to backup the system apps by copying the apk files from /system/app ?
Also is it good to remove an unwanted app from /system/app to delete a system app?

You can copy/paste them to your external storage, or the other and better way is to rename them with apk.bat in the end and thats it.

Hey I understood that removing system app may cause issues. I have tried Titanium backup tool but it stored the backup file in different extension instead of .apk
