[Q] System apps backup and remove - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi Folks,
I want to backup all the system apps and remove the unnecessary apps which are running in background. Is it good to backup the system apps by copying the apk files from /system/app ?
Also is it good to remove an unwanted app from /system/app to delete a system app?

You can copy/paste them to your external storage, or the other and better way is to rename them with apk.bat in the end and thats it.

thanks for the clarification. If I want to remove the unnecessary system apps what is the better way? Just remove it from /system/app or any other method?

Hey I understood that removing system app may cause issues. I have tried Titanium backup tool but it stored the backup file in different extension instead of .apk

[Q] Restore APPS and Settings from Update.zip

Hi All
I am just wondering if it is possible to Restore APPS and APP Settings from a DATA.img file using an update.zip.
I extracted the contents of a DATA.img file and used the DATA and APP directories to populate the update.zip. I removed all the android and google directories and APPS.
When I apply the update.zip some of the APPS work perfectly yet others Force Close all the time.
Am I missing something, do I need to restore some other files?
Any ideas?
Thanks
Just use titanium backup to backup ur apps, than restore ur backup easily with batch operation.
Only app or app with data, choose what you want.
And its safe.

Yeah, Titanium Backup is by far the best solution that i have come by.

is it safe to delete the APP BACKUP content?

I noticed that "App_Backups" folder contains apps that are not longer in use, and all apps are already Backed up on titanume?
Yes you can delete it safely. Also, go into the settings of the app which is doing the backup and switch backup off if you don't want it to backup. I did that for the app 'rom toolbox'.

Either use root explorer to put the apk into /system/app
or
download android commander and install as a system application or push to /system/app

Titanium Backup, ROM Toolbox, System Cleanup ( you can find it here on XDA or Play Store) or using a Root Explorer - delete the apk files

So i should just directly delete the apk from the /system/app folder?
You should backup the folder on sdcard first
...Xperia neo...KA ICS 21.1...Suave v6...
Titanium backup is probably the easiest way to do it.

Does.root.works.with.another apps? If.yes, rename your.titanium.backup.folder on.as cArd just in case, then.delete titanium.backup data.in settings.and rename folder back to original name and try then if.it won't work.try to.uninstall and install titanium again
Edit: also.make sure that you installed root libs from an.superuser.app, as both of them use.another libs, so one wouldn't work with libs from another

I can't see superuser also in my TB. I guess it's really not shown in TB. You can remove and replace manually.
