U must be on cm9/cm10 , their cwm is broken
Flash any kernel in cwm after mounting usb to ur computer , kaSSpeed should work , then reboot and restore
We got it working again with ics13 kernel but it still won't backup and restore properly. Every time we try either the system or data won't mount! And it fails.
Any ideas?

Try going to mount and storage and choosing mount system if its not mounted ..
We do. But then when backing up and restoring it just errors with unable to mount again

I am having the same problem. I want to restore an old backup from FXP 133 (I am on 134). I know it says that they are working on the problem but there have to be some way to restore your old data... Been trying different methods for 2 days.
Anyone that has had the same problem and solved it, if so please post the steps you took to accomplish this?

Yeah the last time I tried (after installing fxp 133 again using nozomi-recovery.img) I first went into Mounts and Storage in CWM and mounted /system to be sure it was working and it did! But then during restore you get the error that /system can't be mounted and I have to redo the whole installation process again.

You ask all the time it seems... And yes! There is the built in backup app and there is titanium backup.
And dont flash your phone to much... You will get bad sectors... Or brick it.
Read a little in the forum before asking about everything

Yup. Already told by others... You can use my backup products, any root backup app, cwm restore/advanced restore...

Flashing a device never creates bad sectors nor bricks a phone mate.

Yes, but it's a good practice to keep a cwm backup always before flashing.
Cwm backup means..
What n all does it backups
Sorry for noon question

sony back up - default restore and back up program of sony (included in the firmware)
titanium - back up system and data same like sony restore and back up apps, but with more options. (with free and paid app from google play), can be used to restore single file.
clockworkmod (cwm) backup - back up of system, boot and data ( these are done in recovery), can be used to restore system only or data only or boot only.
1. cwm (if you are flashing roms) - really need this back up in case of error or not booting
2. titanium if you are restoring single file or freezing apps or converting apps to system apps.

No question is Noob brother!
Cwm is short for ClockWorkMod Recovery by Koush.
After installing a custom kernel you get this recovery. When the phone boots (if you have ulbl) you get a vibe+blue led+white glowing illumination strip all at once... Hit volume up rocker once.
You'll enter cwm.
If you choose backup option from there... It backs up your system, boot, cache, data.
In case of any mistakes or something in future you can always enter cwm and choose restore to bring your phone back to the previous state.
You can go to advanced restore and choose either system/boot/cache/data or all.
Thank... if helpful...

Using advanced restore. Can you restore say system and boot from one backup and then data and cache from another?

Yes, but it's probably not going to end well.

I do that very much often. No problem at all. But there are "mismatch" chances (as K900 said). I'm not talking about md5 mismatch, but it's the mismatch of files and apps that get updated on a latest 'data' backup rather than on an old 'system' backup.
Result? It might end in fc/misbehaving/deleting the app files and just showing a temporary icon.
Ok thanks I'll see what happens. Lol

If its bad, it's bad. Problem is the file is corrupt. Maybe its uploaded corrupt. Maybe your download is corrupt. Maybe transferring to your sdcard is corrupt...
Its hard to say which step corrupts it

Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2

Maybe its the connection. Download via computer and manual transfer over usb?

I'll try this , thank you
So my i9300 hit the floor, and the screen is completly dead.
However, I would like to pull the data from the internal memory.
Its rooted and has flashed cmw touch.
Now can anyone give me a pointer on how to navigate it so I can pull it with adb? As I cant see whats happening.
mhl to tv?
Adb is simple once you've installed it and the drivers. Loads of adb guides on xda.

mhl to tv? I thought it might be easier to just do a nandroid to sd card. but the adt bundle just finished so im going to give it a try
If you're on 4.1 or earlier, adb pull from /data/media as this is /sdcard
On 4.2 its /data/media/0

To bad I already wiped it with wipe_data.
Got the pictures and stuff though.
Does a factory reset delete the messages though? Im not completly sure
Yes. It wouldn't be a factory reset if it left data in there
