Acro S Speaker Quality - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Can anyone with the Acro S comment on the speaker quality? Since the phone is waterproof I imagine that it may be quiet.
Thanks.

Invest in a hearing aid?
But what exactly did you update to? If ICS did you do a wipe?

Yes, I wiped 'em all.
I agree, call volume is very low. Sometime, when the other caller is with a fix line it is allright, thought i would like to be able to keep one "up" volume in case of; but most of the time, the volume is really just enough to understand.
At the contrary, playing music over the headphone is quiet good, sometimes (most) too loud! Why on earth is the volume of the sound different when listening to music against a voice call???????????? There are horses demanding to be free....
Soft updated 3 week ago: ICS 4.0.4, 6.1.A.0.452

I Will
There was a genuine issue with call speaker volume in the 2.3.7GB firmware, that was fixed with ICS.
Call volume it's now loud from my SXS.
Keep in mind some telephony devices that ppl use will be low and poor quality by default. The only way to fix that is to ask them to use a dif device.

My earpiece is loud enough to hear it on a noisy boulevard - the only thing quiet on the Xperia S is the speakerphone - it doesn't use xLoud and sound volume is a bit low during call... .453 firmware.
Agree. People hear me loud and clear and via the earphones it's good, but I have to press the phone to my ear so hard sometimes that it leaves a stripe...

Not to sound like Steve, but you're holding it wrong. Try calling a free number and move the phone around your ear a bit. I've noticed I had to hold the phone a bit lower then I usually do to hear the caller loud (plenty loud) and clear.
Mine is generally ok, it seems to be quieter with certain people so I'm a bit confused lol
I would agree that speakerphone is too low, seriously weak.

The position i have to hold it in doesn't quite feel natural, but if I look in the mirror it looks normal so I'd assume it is a small adjustment

I did the update to ICS and the problem continues, what else I can do
I am having the same issue & i am on GB .73. I can not update to ICS seeing as Rogers wireless has not released the update yet here .
I wish the call volume was a bit louder. I downloaded the Volume+ app but it keeps forclosing so i am a bit upset about this. Hope with the ICS update they give us a louder call volume

Headphone jack/Boomsound sound level

Anyone else think there could be some improvements made on how loud the speakers can get? I was expecting more Boom. The sound is amazing but I want more of it...
I have some Base headphones that sound fantastic as well but they aren't very loud unless beats is on. Wondering if there is a way around this or is that by design?
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Turn of beats when using NO headphones just the front facing speakers you will get more sound, that's louder!!

Low ringing sound

Is anyone feeling that the ringing sound is very low compared to the music played through the speakers?

This......not so good!! Had a few phones with low ringtones, very annoying. Was hoping the Z2 to be on par with the G2 as I found that ringtone volume excellent!

How is the overall call volume? Is it loud enough?
Why do manufacturers do these dumb things?
I wanted the loud speakers mainly for the loud ringing advantage, as I set my phone down in one corner of the house and often miss calls as I can't hear it from the other rooms.
Hopefully there's a fix.

Apparently call volume is low too...
Everything was looking so promising for the Z2...[emoji22]
Can't be doing with a phone with low ring/notification sound...remember on the Sony Ericsson X1 the amount of calls and SMS I missed due to low (and poor quality sound).

Seriously, I don't know why every review I've read so far talks about the power front facing stereo speakers when the volume is really so poor. What's the use?
Looks more like a software glitch to me.
One more bug I find was the volume indicator which appears when you press the volume rocker doesn't seems to be moving continously the correct volume levels. Again, not sure whether it's just me alone with this bug.

Well, it depends on you, but I feel it's a software issue as I could hear loudly when I play music. So it can't be a hardware issue. It could be a matter of bug fix update from Sony to fix it.

Web tests put the M8 at 85db and the Z2 at 82db.
I don't use my phone to blare music at high volume levels.

Only one speaker playing when incoming call!!

Gyus, i`m shocked! When i get incoming call - only one (lower) speaker is playing! Sony mocks ???!!! Device have 2 stereo speakers but they are not playing both with incoming calls! WTF!?
Everyone have this ?
What do you think, is this a firmware problem or what ???
This upset me so much! (((((
Maybe that's why the ringtone volume is so low.. A very common feedback now.
Seems like it`s not a s/w glitch, seems like Sony did that deliberately. What for - is a damm mystery for me! This is so unlogical, so stupid, aahh, can`t select all words how this dissapointed me
The only hope for talented people on XDA to fix that.
Yea... speakerphone for calls is ridiculously low.
Could you please post your findings to the Sony support forums for visibility?

Guys, who lives in Taiwan and Singapore, PLEASE, write a messages to a Sony support about this problem, why they did incoming calls with only one speaker ? Would they fix that in future or not ? Wanna hear what Sony official support will write about that!
Thank you.
PS I wrote about this to a Sony Singapore, in English, i hope they will feedback to me.
I think this is unacceptable bug!
Smartwatch 2
I think sony need us to buy the smartwatch 2 or smartband for feel the vibration alert when incoming call rather than to hear the sound.
that why sony said (Details make the different ).
SONY GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:

I've added a thread about this in the support forum:
https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z2/Speakerphone-in-call-uses-only-1-speaker/m-p/638249#U638249
I also have one more gripe, which I'm needing more people to confirm my finding:

Bad news, we won't get 2 speakers working on calls officially, 100%. Sony going to make sound louder, but only on one speaker ****, **** **** ****, Sony, you killed me without a gun
Gonna sell it , i guess. Z2 is not so much better than Z1 with not fully functionally 2 stereo speakers.

Yes, i got some information about that!
And, one man on Russin forum 4pda said that he`s got two speakers plaiyng on call! I asked him to check again with a real phone call, maybe he just checked volume control or something, no reply from him yet..
Is there at least one person on this forum who`s got both speakers working on incoming call, sms, what`s upp message ?
And another man on forum said that on Tablet Z2 both speakers are working on call
Do we have defect on our handsets ?

Difference between one and two speakers feels very much!
Try to listen one song on both and then on one. If you don`t listen the difference, you are lucky man!

You listen to music on both speakers but ringtone for incoming calls are only on one speaker. That's the reason that ringtone is less loud then music.

[Q] Xperia z2 headphone sound

I am eager to know that is Xperia z2 sound volume in headphones is higher than iPhone 5 or iPhone 5s
I cant understand why people are so obsessed about max volume, never in my life had i needed to use full volume with headphones, i would have gone deaf! :0 Answering your question i doubt it, since z2 is pretty average when it comes to volume levels.
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk 2
I work in a loud factory and I cannot hear anything but music with the headset. The volume level.being average is an issue with loudspeakers not headset.
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
The volume ain't spectacular, but with the noise cancelling headphones, it sounds better than the iPhone 5/5s
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
well it is about the same as my Galaxy S2 which is not impressing.
But on my S2 I was always enhancing it by several db with different KErnels/Roms (Stweaks). Currently the Roms and Kernels for Z2 already offer enhanced audio power.
The house earphones should really help.
Also if you root and use doom lord kernel you can set volume levels higher.
