Slow Screen Refesh after Rotate - Streak 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I rotate my Streak, it takes about 15 seconds for my home screen to refresh. My Streak 5 has stock Android version 2.2.2 installed. What might be the problem?

How long has it been since you wiped caches, wiped dalvik or did a factory reset

never had that kind of problem...
like cdzo72 said.. maybe you should wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache... do that in your recovery...
if your recovery is stock.. you can flash the streakmod recovery... search in this forum for multirecovery...
hmm... 2.2.2?
maybe you can start learning how to flash and so on...
and then upgrade to dsc or longhorn or lxdroid

Green Percentage battery for Steve's 1.6.0

Hi all,
I have modified Steve's 1.6.0 Gingerbread taskbar to have a green horizontal percentage battery.. now updated from a previous working framework-res.apk file
Copy zip to SD card and flash with recovery. NOTE it will wait at the boot animation for a few minutes before booting into the GUI - so please be patient!!!
Cheers
Ody
Looks good! Thanks
After installing I keep getting random reboots, this has never happened before.
I just get an error message when I try to flash this
Random re-boots are what Gopoos 1.6 Battery does.
Glad I read this. I'm in the middle of a Nandroid BU before flashing this.
Thanks for the warning!!!

Cleared my cache and it has been up for 15 minutes with no reboot, seems to be good right now but I guess we will see.
I have updated the theme using one of my previously working 1.5.3 framework files, so should be OK now??
Cheers
Ody
Been up for an hour after clearing my cache and no random re-boots I'll flash this one and report back if there are any issues. Thanks again!
Both Modded and Ginger led to reboot loop on my streak. I wiped cache partition, cleared Dalvik and wiped battery stats before and after each flash.
It hangs after bringing up the lockscreen, but doesn't bring up the indicators in the far left of the status bar. Time, new battery and signal were all visible on the right.
I have my screen density set at 180 if that makes any difference.
Thanks for creating this. Maybe others will have more success than I.
Sorry to post twice in a row.
I changed screen density back to 160. Rebooted. Cleared the cache, Dalvik, bat stats. Re-booted again into Recovery. Cleared the cache, Dalvik, bat stats. Re-flashed Ginger. Back to reboot loop.
I don't think the problem is the 180 screen density setting.
It doesnt work..same problem from previous posts...I get random reboots..

..must be a problem with your installation? It works perfectly on mine and others? no reboots or anything.
For the record this is my software configuration..
Baseband: GAUSB1A131800-EU
Kernel: 2.6.32.9-DJ_Steve-BFS-CFQ-KGSL2D-Vol-OC
OEM Version: Royo V1.6.0 By DJ_Steve
I've had no problems after clearing my cache. I went back to the first one you released I like the look all the graphite black bar better rather than the blacked out one.

That's good to know, odd that you needed to clear the cache, I always just keep updating Steve''s ROM's from earlier ones, without resets, clearing of caches or anything? Must just be lucky? Glad they work for you

Let me guess that you did not wipe data and wipe Dalvik cache before you restarted the phone?
If not, try that and reflash KF.
Also you need to let the phone sit when you power it on, for about 10-15 minutes. Don't get impatient, it sometimes can take a long time for roms to boot up. I've seen a guy say it took almost 20 minutes for a rom to boot up for the first time.

[Q] Market does not upgrade /download at all?

Hello, Have G tab with vegan tab on it.
Tried honeycomb and never came out of boot up 20 minutes.
Went back and restored to past vegan tab rom and everything was good but market. Tried market fix numerous times. Reloaded rom serveral times market fixes. Still market will not update present apps or download new free ones even.
what it does do..
when you start to download if flashes downloading
then it flashes downloading paused.
then downloading failed and stops all together.
any thoughts or fix?
tablet details:
Vegan tab -v1.0.0b5.1
android version 2.2
kernal 2.632,9-dirty [email protected]#6
cwm recovery 2.5.1.8
rom manager ver 3.0.1.4
thanks, layback
Dont use Rom Manager to start with. I would wipe data/ format in cwm and then reinstall rom.
Try clearing cache and data force close from application running. And run market again.

[Q] Problem with ROM installation

I have installed Blackout ICS Incredible v3.1.0 for HTC Desire HD. After successfully rooting the device, with Advance Ace Hack Kit, I installed the ROM. The installation went nice, but at the first reboot, it stucks at the HTC screen and stays there.
What should I do now? How can I fix this problem?
I thought to get back at my last Android Version(but I don't have a backup, I have to take a fresh one) and try installing again.
Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance,
Dan Constantin

Hey Dan. What are the requirements for that rom? Or maybe you don't like waiting. First boot can take up to 30 minutes.

I didn't know that it can take up to 30 minutes, I thought something was wrong. I will keep waiting. Till then, here is the ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531218
It has been 40 minutes and I am still waiting. I think something is not wrong. Any suggestions?
Did you full wipe before flashing it?

Yes, I have performed a full wipe. Data + Cache + Dalvik Cache. Also, the install had the option of the full wipe, I did that too. It still stucks at the first boot in the white HTC screen. Someone told me that I may have used a newer/older type of boot that my phone doesn't support, but he couldn't give me any more details.
Here are the steps that I have done for the ROM:
1. installed Advance Ace Hack Kit
2. went into bootloader
3. went to recovery
4. from those menus, I wiped data/factory reset, cache
5. again, from those menus, I choosed advanced and wiped dalvik cache
6. from the mount menu, I mounted /system
7. the final step was to choose which zip to install
On the installation, I also did the full wipe, as I said, and after copying the files, I receive a message that my ICS has successfully installed and the option to reboot. At the reboot, I get a white screen with HTC in the middle and it freezes there. For hours (I left it from last night till this morning).

Very odd. Don't think that was ever reported.
Are you following the:
Flash 1.0, 1.6.
Reboot
Dell factory reset.
?

You don't need and not advised to wipe data in StreakMod recovery, do only Dell factory reset after flashing last update.
