You're device is fine. I have the same thing and I've flashed hundreds of times. You just have to know what you're flashing and understand the basics

I am familiar with flashing. I had the LG Optimus LTE before this and flashed quite a few roms, This phone however has me awfully confused. I have been researching all day. And so far i am under the understanding that the touch cwm are not good and the use the 4.0.1.5 recovery. But what i don't understand is how do you install roms without wiping data/factory reset through cwm? don't most roms require this? and isn't that what causes the superbrick? Sorry for sounding like a noob. but can you tell me how you do your flashing?

Just use a different kernel, like siyah (www.gokhanmoral.com and make it's for the s2 not s3). Then you can wipe data. Just didn't not be on 4.0.4, and have a samsung based kernel (the kernel dev should have info in the op). Once you're on a safe kernel you can flash whatever you want and wipe data.

Yes I wiped data, cache and dalvik cache. Couldn't get into recovery so i just re-flashed my firmware via odin. All is good now and successfully flashed cm9 with no issues. Must have been a bug in the rom.

Yes LPT is safe I'm on a modified version of it right now. It's not the ROM but the kernal that is the problem with certain 4.0.4 leaked ROMs. If you use siyah as your kernel you will be safe.

I've rooted my phone using rachmat3 method and thats how far i've got because only just got phone as a gift and im scared to flash a new rom incase i brick my phone.
Is it safe to use the cwm.zip to flash a rom that i used from rachmat3 root method or do i need a updated version of cwm?
Can someone recommend a fully working paranoid android rom that i can use for daily use?
Which kernel would be best to use with paranoid android rom?
Should i flash a kernel before i flash a rom?
If i install paranoid android rom would i then have a permanant cwm on my device or would i still need to use my temporery cwm.zip?
What is the chances of me bricking my phone?

Flash what ever rom u want till its for GT-I9100
No need to worry
Just read the specific rom instructions carefully
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Yes mate now u can flash any Rom ....Just read the instruction before flashing
I would advise you to flash a safe kernel first before doing any wipe and flashing any roms. Siyah is a safe bet.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
1. Download ROM Manager and you'll be able to flash any ROMs you wish using that.
2. All the PA versions are working fine, so just browse through and choose for yourself.
3. Asking questions like that is against forum rules because they often lead to arguments. The best advice is just to download and flash different kernels and stick with which ever one you're happy with.
4. It really doesn't matter in which order you flash them. The result is still the same. I personally always flash the ROM first, but it doesn't make a difference.
5. If you use ROM Manager, as mentioned previously, even if you have to do a full wipe when flashing a different ROM, it doesn't matter because you can simply download it again anyway. Or just save it to your SD card.
6. The changes if bricking your phone are higher if you're worried about it. Just be sure to read all instructions given about installation and follow them perfectly and you'll be fine.
If after reading about flashing ROMs you are still worried, then you're better off waiting for a bit until you've done more research into what exactly is needed.

Thanks for your replys.
just follow the steps mentioned and follow some video (like on youtube) and it'll be easy!

Why don't flash custom kernel and use real CWMR?

Most ROM zips include kernels, so if somebody wants to stay with the same kernel, then it's necessary to flash custom kernel again.

You will need a pc if for example you flash a kernel and somethings not right. You cant get cwm, only download mode.
That happened to me when I flashed a siyah kernel.Phone was stuck and I couldnt boot into cwm.Only way to fix was boot to download mode and use odin/pc.

Well firstly, you shouldnt be double posting/bumping your thread, You have an edit button if you need to add anything.
Second, You have no need to ask this question as its already been covered a million times over in all the other topics about this, please use search before creating topics. That is XDA rule number 1.
Third, The answer to your question is no. Once you install custom kernel your fine and not affected by the bug.

Philz kernel has a broken recovery which doesn't let you flash AOSP ROMs... It gives the status 7 error and aborts installation.
You may flash Siyah kernel from www.gokhanmoral.com. Download the Odin version (.tar file) and flash it.

Yes. To superbrick, 3 criteria must be met (check detailed explanation of each by entropy512 who is a kernel developer and elite recognised developer). One of them is that you must have the dangerous emmc chip. I believe what gotbrickbug does is check if you have that chip or not.
But, being on a safe kernel (custom ones are more reliable than Samsung ones unfortunately in this regard since 4.0.4), the command mmc_cap_erase is disabled which makes sure that the emmc chip doesn't get wiped.
So, being on a safe kernel even if gotbrickbug gives the danger message will keep you safe
If I'm wrong or anything, please correct me I actually don't know much about this.

No, the app looks at the chip, not the kernel. If your phone has a defective chip, no matter which kernel you are on (safe or dangerous), it will always show dangerous.

[Q] Impossible to update to stock JB 4.1.2

Hi, I have been having troubles updating my samsung galaxy S2 GT-i9100 from the rooted stock 4.0.3 XWLP7 to the last version of the official JB 4.1.2 for Spain.
I have downloaded the JB rom from Sammobile, decompressed it and installed it using Odin 3.04 but I got stucked in a Samsung's Logo boot loop.
I entered again in recovery mode and did a wipe data/factory reset and a wipe cache but it didn't fix the problem, also pull out the battery for some minutes and made a wipe again and nothing fix the problem.
Is there anybody here with another idea that not be a full wipe or to pull out the battery?
Thanks in advance
Wrong thread buddy..should ve in q+a..Anyway,you can try flashing it via mobile odin.it will give you the option to root the firmware you are flashing.Obviously the firmware will be as a tar file which mobile odin is designed to flash, and it will flash the relevant files for you.Ifyou need any more help just pm me.Oh and hit thanks!

I think that was not meant for JB.
In the future try xda for rooting, not taringa or htcmania.
Flash siyah v5.

I use it for root it because it was for ICS.
So, I already flash siyah's kernel and then tried to flash the JB Rom again and it was the same thing... Stuck :-S
Do you have any idea with flashing the siyah's kernel?
I can flash it again

If the Important DATA is stored in ur phones Internal Sdcard (the 11.5 gb partition) then u can safely flash any stock firmware from ODIN
for stock firmwares u can check.
www.samfirmware.com or www.sammobile.com
and u can easily search for a video guide on youtube on how to flash a stock firmware on i9100 using ODIN.
......or you could check the stickyed threads on this forum right here on XDA for Odin flashing instructions.... No need to look elsewhere on the web when everything you need is RIGHT HERE......
This might be my S2, or it might be my W...but it's definitely CM
well its a CWM prob
1. search threads for how to flash stock rom back via odin
2. re root and install cwm
3. Install the correct rom

I reflashed a original rom with odin! Thanks so much. I dont even know if I rooted it. All my data is back which matters most. Thanks again!
What are modded roms? What do they do?

well modded roms are like for example
some devs take the stock rom push their kernals with some minor or major tweaks
it might be in UI or apps or can be of anything
in simple works taking a stock rom or any other rom and overlaying it with some tweaks
