i'm using test point method for unlocking bootloader on my neo v (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1409269&highlight=zeus+flash)
step 2 is: "Connect test point to the ground and attach USB cable. Wait while Windows shows finding new device, disconnect test point immediately. Windows won't find appropriate drivers... select drivers manually from the archive of SEtool. Agree to install 'untrusted' drivers.
3. Reboot your PC"
I disconected test point when windows showed "finding new device" but... my windows 7 DID find and installed new device (I didn't select drivers manually from the archive of SEtool)
is it safe to continue to step 3 and 4?
3. Reboot your PC
4. Run s1tool, press 'Patch semcboot' and follow tho on-screen instruction.
is there any chance that it will brick my neo v?
Are you sure you picked correct test point?
When you connect test point and cable, which device appears in device manager?
Yes I chose right test point.
Cant remember name of device.... It was something qx.... W.... B... (I uninstalled it)
But in properties it was zeus flash drive..... or zeus usb drive....
When I was rooting my neo I installed some drivers for neo v. Is that maybe the reason why windows installed this automaticly?

Hi everybody,
I've been searching on forums, tried multiple solutions but nothing helps. Though I'm familiar with all this, I'm just stuck on one point which makes all this unlocking process very frustrating. My phone is a Xperia P (JB) and I went to Sony's dev page in order to unlock the bootloader. Unfortunately, even if my phone is eligible for unlocking, I just cannot pass one of the point: fastboot mode.
Basically, when I power on, vol up, fastboot mode is enabled for a few seconds only (led) then disconnects from my device manager and stays with an amber (orange) led on. I just can't have my phone stay in fastboot mode. Same if I go with the command line adb reboot bootloader...
After looking for this problem on various forums, I've tried to update the drivers to (S1 fastboot) found on multiple posts, didn't help. I thought it was a problem with my PC (Win 7_64) so I tried with a fresh install in 32bits on another disk, didn't help. Tried even with Win 8 64 and 32, no chance... USB debbuging is on.
Is anyone experiencing the same problem or has anyone a solution for this? I'm just getting mad by not being able to unlock it.
Hi! I think that the driver is not properly installed! Another site I found this description to see if it helps!
Install Sony Xperia (P / U / Sola / Go) Driver and fastboot in Windows 7
Sony Xperia Driver Installation
Go to Setting > Development
Check USB Debugging
connect Xperia (P / U / Sola / Go) to PC / laptop
Open device manager
Right Click on SEMC HUSB (it should have a yellow triangle warning)
Then select “Update driver software”
Choose “Browse My computer for driver software”
Choose “let me pick from list of device driver on my computer”
Click “have disk” button
Browse to Xperia_P_Xperia_U_Xperia_sola_drivers extract folder
Select sa0104adb.inf
Approve all confirmation
Click OK
Sony Xperia Fastboot Installation
Turn off Xperia
Open Windows 7 device manager
Press and hold Volume[+] Sony Xperia button
Connect to Pc / Laptop
Right click on yellow triangle warning (device warning)
Choose “Update driver software”
Choose “Browse my computer for driver software”
Choose “Let me pick from a list of device driver on my computer”
click “Have a disk” button
Browse to fastboot driver extract folder
Select android_winusb.inf
Approve all confirmation
Done
Note:
A sign that fastboot connection is success is LED will stay in purple
In fastboot installation, open device manager before connect the device is a trick. A yellow triangle (device warning) only appears around 5 sec
It`s better to restart the windows after driver and fastboot installation
Download Support Files
Download Sony Xperia (P / U / Sola / Go) Driver
Download Sony Xperia Fastboot driver
Hi Rajen,
Thanks for your help... I've done all this before, repeated it now step by step but no luck... Cannot have my P to stay with purple light on (fastboot). It still stays purple for 3-4 seconds then amber.
Any other idea?
@swissman you should open device manager on Windows 7 first then connect your phone......when its connected youll see anerror or something sign there and click it then choose install driver from pc......navigate to those drivers and Finish....hope this helped....

Hi! Thank you... I really did that... I think almost 20 times but nothing helps. I think I've done almost everything possible (Imagine, thinking that it might be a 64bits issue and Win 7, I've even tried to downgrade to Win 7 32 and Win 8 32! ..
But nothing helps. It installs correctly the drivers, computer reboot (or even not), replug the phone with Vol up and still getting a 3-4 seconds purple LED and then disconnection. I'm getting mad as I tried almost everything I found on XDA or others but nothing helps.
The only thing I haven't tried yet is to downgrade to ICS, try to unlock the bootloader and upgrade back to JB
Ok, I finally have been able to unlock it. What I did, VM with Windows 7 64, booted in fastboot and updated drivers with "Android ADB Interface" drivers from Google directly (not the one provided with SE modifications)... My phone stays now in fastboot and has been successfully unlocked.
Don't ask me how it did happen, I'm just being happy to have it fully under my control
Anyway thanks guys for your help!
When the purple led doesn't last it means you haven't installed it correctly......the thing we are teaching you is I think, a shortcut method, just in order not to install to many files.......so I recommend installing the whole android SDK if you have time......

today i reflashed my phone with stock 4.0.4 french ftf and it is working fine with usb debugging off but with debugging on, my computer doesnt see the phone! what should i do?
i have reflashed it but still usb debugging mode is not working! help! please what can the problem be?
plz help !
im stuck on stock! no root! nothing good!
First: Don't Panic.
Second: Check your drivers. If not properly installed, try one from sony (just google your device together with "adb driver").
Third: after a complete flash it's like you've never touched your device, means you have to re-root your device normally.
i hope this helps.

no its not working!
ive installed a new windows on virtualbox but there also no usb debugging is working!
and how do you install the adb drivers in the zip?
even though it is in debugging mode..when i try to root, it says please connect your phone in debugging mode
Can't say if it generally works with virtualbox. try to get drivers for your native system.
So the question is now: What's your host system?
If it's Windows, get Flashtool and install included driver (found in <FlashtoolInstallDir>\driver) just for rooting the device.
If you're using linux you can look if your device was recognized properly with lsusb it should be listed there.
You can try it too in virtualbox, but i don't trust the USB-driver (i would not flash or so through it) and do not recommend it.

i am using windows 7 32 bit
ive already have flashtool and have tried to install the drivers but nothing works!
Ok, you've installed (i assume) the right adb drivers for your device through the installer located in <FlashtoolsInstallDir>\driver.
So is there any Android/Sony (Ericsson) named device in your device manager? What does Flashtools write if you connect? If your device is listed in device manager, does it show an error, if yes which error?

in flashtool it shows the same thing in on and off
the 2nd one is debugging on and 3rd with off
Please post output of "adb devices" (if not recognizing, try again after "adb usb"). If no serial number/device is shown then do following:
There is a newer version of Flashtool available, update to 0.9.11, http://androxyde.github.io/
check after reinstallation (of drivers, too)
Maybe you have to try sonys driver from the zip. So extract them (all files).
right click at your device in the device manager
click to "update driversoftware" (or something like that, i don't have english windows)
click "search on my computer for new drivers"
choose from list
display all devices
click the button below the list (i have no idea what there could be written, it's not "windows update")
search for the inf-file extracted and choose the "sa<somenumbers>adb.inf"
if not already installing, choose "Sony Ericsson saXXXX ADB Interface Driver"
reboot (pc)
check again
i had a fresh install of windows 7, evn prvsly i was on windows 7 and somehow i had managed to install all drivers for xperia p
but after this fresh install i am unable to go to fastboot , somehow i installed flashmode drivers
i evn installed the drivers from fastboot-drivers.exe but no use when i start flashtool and try to enter fastboot mode i get an error message saying the device drivers are not installed , install these drivers from flashtool folder
what do i do ? evn in device manager when i update it doesnt find any software.. when windows try to install s1boot fastboot drivers it shows not installed
where m i wrong? please help me
I think i had that same problem too, and took me some time to find the right answer, it is probably windows that won't install unsigned drivers, so try reboot, and press F8, and allow installation of unsigned drivers, though i just wrote a CMD code at that page i visited, but i can't find it now lol.
Well try here http://www.techspot.com/community/t...signed-drivers-in-windows-vista-7-x64.127187/
pda net
try to install pda net app on ur pc
if this dont work than open device manager
and plug ur phne in fastboot mode
on device manager ut show s1 fastboot somthing like that just for 5 sec
hurry and double click on that
after that update driver
select browse my computer for driver software
after that select let me pick from a list of device
after that click on android device
and click on next and ur driver is installed
but first install pdanet on ur pc
Right, been trying to enter fastboot/bootloader. The phone is completely standard/locked at the moment.
I've press and held the volume button while connecting the USB cable. I'm running Windows 7 64bit and have PC companion installed. Windows sees the device is plugged in, and attempts to install drivers - it fails. In device manager is shows S1 service without drivers installed.
I've downloaded some drivers from the Sony site here: http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/drivers/fastboot-driver/ but when I point the PC to the directory, it says it can't find drivers?
I'm confused! I've got all the ADB stuff installed already and can successfully connect my HTC, so I assume it's just the Sony driver I need?

Make sure you install flashmode / flashboot driver on flashtool driver pack... run flashtool xperia driver setup and under choose component make sure you tick flashmode / flashboot box... hope works friend....
my device is stuck on s1 service mode when connected to pc
Easy way to get it is by... Going to Sony's site, downloading their software and then installing it. Next run the software and select the repair option.. After a while it will download the SOMC driver and install it. You can CTL ALT DEL and kill the Sony app if you don't want to take repair matters further.. And there is your driver! Go and back it up or check the install cache for the installer and save this. Choice is yours.
NOTE: Make sure your firewall is not blocking any of the directories it requires for operation. If so just open control access to these and you're good to go.

Did you just mention the Xperia Companion or something different?
I guess it might be easier to make use of the USB thumb drive equipped with mAid that can be found here

Been a bit of a while since I had to deal with Sony phones. If I remember correctly it was either companion or another restoration application available from Sony and not 3rd party.
Was that message for me? Do note that the Trim Area for the same is corrupted. @noidodroid Could you please elaborate the above procedure? Also, if it's about any Sony tool, those won't recognise the device since the trim area also holds info and DRM's for device iirc.

1. install xperia companion and make successful connection with your device (enable usb debugging also)
2. install minimal adb and fastboot also
3. install latest flashtool and on the download page of the webside, x10flasher.jar are give and must be replaced from c\flashtool
4. drivers.exe given in the flashtool folder must be install (atleast all drivers for devices having "COMMON" mentioned + z series drivers (ALL ) ) ---- if your windows is w10, you must disable digital signature verification (google it)
5. after all this , you must make first connection with your windows! by switching off xperia X and plugging usb in X while pression (1) volume up key (fastboot mode) -- windows will install some driver (somec) --- (2) then unplug usb and replug, this time volume down key, (Flashmode) -- windows will install some driver! -----
6. NOW try flashing!
